FTP : Current Situation
• Non Standardized use of folders. Lack of agreement on its use.
• Non Standardized use of file names. Lack of agreement on the format.
• Possibility to create/delete files and/or folders.
• Current Situation :
FTP : Proposal for the future
• Creation of alias : ftplatipat.epo.org (No change in IP Address)
• One Super User for the Administration of the FTP, Read/Write/Create/Modify/Delete.
• 3 Power Users : EPO, WIPO, OEP. Rights to Read/Write/Create in ALL Latipat folders
• One user for each National Office with Read/Write access.
• Proposed future folder structure
Data Exchange : Standardization (BIBLIO)
• Delivery into /Biblio folder for FrontFile.
• Delivery into /Backfile/Biblio for Backfile.
• File names :
– If monthly delivery : CC_MMYY.(extension)
– for other deliveries : CC_CCYYMMDD.(extension)
• Extension names :
– if ST32 = SGML
– if ST36 = XML
• File Type :
– IF all publications in the same file then keep above definitions.
– If single files then ZIP/RAR (or other compression type) extension.
Data Exchange : Standardization (IMAGE)
• Delivery into /Image folder for FrontFile.
• Delivery into /Backfile/Image for Backfile.
• If PDF :
– /Image/PublicationDate/KindCode/publicationnumber.pdf
• If ST33 :
– /Image/publicationdate.s33
• For other types : Check with EPO/OMPI/OEPM
• Possibility to deliver : TIFF; MultiTIFF, JPEG, PNG
Automation / Monitoring
• Need to implement a system to monitor and control deliveries.
• Requirements?? (EPO proposal)
• Tool to monitor timeliness of deliveries. Implement "Watch Dogs". Notification of delays, Notification of load.
• Implement the reporting/monitoring into the current Status document
