What are research objectives?

The objectives of a research

project summarize what is to beachieved by the study. These

objectives should be closely

related to the research problem.

Task 1: Brainstorming

For example:

- Specific action = Make questionnaires / Processtest results

- General action =Distinguish significant variables

- and give feedback to the field of practice

Suggestion:Use the verbs in the infinitive

research objectives.


Formulate the general and specific objectives

taking into account the actions to be performed

and using the most suitable verbs to state specific

actions: e.g. to identify, to describe, to analyze, to

demonstrate, etc.

Often, one of the trickiest

parts of designing and writing up

any research paper is how to

write a hypothesis.

Hypothesis defined:

Hypotheses are testable explanations of a

problem, phenomenon, or observation.

A hypothesis (plural hypotheses) is a

proposed explanation for a phenomenon.

A hypothesis is an explanation for

something that has been observed.

- a good hypothesis must be based on a

good research question at the start of a trial

and, indeed, drive data collection for the

study.

1. Alternative - this is the hypothesis that is

affirmative, positive, and approving. Thisgives a positive possible result of the

experiment.

2. Null - this is a negative hypothesis aboutthe experiment.

gives a cause and effect hypothesis. This has

the "if & then" clause...... (Example: "ifsunlight affects the growth of plants, then it

might slow down or fasten the plant's

growth.")

How to Write a Hypothesis?

1. Understand the purpose.

The purpose of a hypothesis is to helpcreate testable parameters through which

information can be gained. Stated simply, it

creates a specific informational goal to be

explored.

A chemistry hypothesis: If I mix sodium

bicarbonate with an acidic substance, areaction will occur.

A biology hypothesis: If a rabbit israised with dogs, it will exhibit dog-like

behavior.

A historical hypothesis: If economic socialism

is enacted on a national scale, then significant

effects will be observed in both the local andnational economies.

An anthropological hypothesis: If new and

better materials are introduced to a culture, thenthat culture will attempt to increase its ability to

acquire those materials.
