FOCUS PROGRAM At Longs Peak Middle School, our staff and community work in partnership for the common goal of building the 21st century skills necessary to prepare all students for higher education. We are a college preparatory school implementing the College Board Pre-Advanced Placement curriculum. Our dedicated faculty values academic rigor through the design thinking process and STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) applications, while offering opportunities to enrich the character and experiences of the whole child, in a culturally diverse community.

OUR COMMUNITYWe build strong and supportive relationships with students, their families, and the extended Longs Peak community. We educate our students in many ways, with our primary focus concentrating on improving student achievement while fostering rigorous academic, STEM, artistic and athletic experiences. We value parent collaboration and communication, and believe they are essential to supporting students’ academic and personal growth.

Longs Peak partners with Longmont High School and Longmont United Hospital to deliver a stimulating BioScience curriculum and STEM summer program. Our comprehensive STEM program includes Computer Programming, BioScience, and Multimedia production. We have developed a partnership with Google and continue to be competitive in STEM competitions as we prepare our students for high-demand, 21st century careers. We incorporate 1:1 technology integration into our daily instruction.

TECHNOLOGYWith over two devices per pupil dedicated for student use, technology is integrated into all content areas and classrooms at Longs Peak. Project-based technology courses such as Introduction to Technology, STEM, Multimedia, and Computer Science are among the choices students can select from to engage students in 21st Century, design, and problem solving skills.

Extracurricular opportunities include the Computer Science Club which, in partnership with Google, follows the CS First program for coding.

INTRAMURAL SPORTSWe believe that keeping students engaged in physical activity is vital to student success. Longs Peak Middle School offers a variety of athletic and extra-curricular programs for our students. Athletic opportunities include Fall/Spring soccer, girls volleyball, boys/girls basketball, wrestling and track & field.

Students are encouraged to participate in National Junior Honor Society, Student Council, LPMS Outdoor Adventure Club,Yearbook, mentoring programs, STEM/MESA (robotics, coding, multimedia, video production), Google CS First, Art Enrichment and Tutoring Club. Over 80% of our student body participates in a daily music program.
