Kurihara Kogyo has venture into Maldives more than a decade ago.

Maldives is scattered like exotic pearls on a vast aquamarine canvas painted by the Indian

Ocean. A Chain of 1190 little coral islands that forms the archipelago of the Maldives in

80- 120km wide, stretching 860 km from latitude 7o6"N to 0o41"S and lying between

72o32" and 73o45" E.

With the local survey and study of Maldives Geography, History & Culture, the company is

well equipped with the close communication network between the operation team in

Maldives and Singapore Head Office. Kurihara Kogyo has maintained its technologies and

logistic link-up to meet the local conditions and requirement and not discounting on the

company MISSION & POLICY of delivering it’s quality and standard.

The company is expanding its operation and services in Maldives from Project

Management, Construction to Engineering Materials Supply and After Sales Maintenance.

Far before year 2000, Kurihara Kogyo was invited to manage and construct the Mechanical

and Electrical systems for the Airport Island Hotel, Hulhule, Maldives.

With the foundation and solid planning, the company mobilized a management team to

the island for site survey and preparation work.

Kurihara Kogyo has participated in the preliminary project management, with the

strategic local alliances formed over the years, in plant and equipment exports in order to

meet the hotel completion schedule.

KANDOOMA TOURIST RESORT AND RIHIVELI BEACH RESORT

After the Tsunami occurrence,

Kurihara Kogyo was assigned by

Hotel Properties Leisure Group

(owner of Hilton Hotel Singapore and

the Famous Hard Rock Café and

Hotels in Asia) for the survey and

investigation on the damages of

Mechanical and Electrical system

including the plant generators, RO

plants, sewerage plants caused by

the tidal wave

Due to the emergency needs for

refurbishment of the resorts

damages; with very short notice, the

company mobilized a competent

team of engineers and supervisors to

conduct Due Diligence sites survey,

testing and report.

All necessary tools, testing sets and

equipments were pre-prepared and

hand carried by the team with the

understanding of the limited

resources of the country.

The survey and all necessary testing

of the plants and systems report plus

the proposed budgetary costing for

the refurbishment works were well

carried out and conduct as per

schedule.

The Due Diligence reports with all

the test results, endorsed by the

company Professional Engineer, and

photos attached were delivered

timely to the clients in less than a

week. Meetings and presentations on

the report were conducted together

with the clients and representative

of Insurance Professional Engineer.

Kurihara Kogyo was awarded for the

repair and refurbishment works for

Rihiveli Beach Resort. With the

company social field and readiness

of all resources including tools,

materials, the people and know

how, it form a team of Engineer,

supervisors with hands on

experience, close logistic network

and personnel for the repair works

Electrical engineering work was

calculated and all damage panels

were rectified and face-lift. Sub-

main cables with leakage were

track and repair with quality resin

compound. All outlets and circuitry

were tested and replaced.

The assigned task force complete

the M&E repair work of the resort in

less than a month with the resort re-

launch and back in operation at

minimum down time and minimum

lost of income.

FOUR SEASONS RESORT, MALDIVES AT LANDAA GIRAAVARU

With an enormous manpower resource

from licensed and competent managers,

engineers to workers, the company

carefully selected a project team with

the knowledge of details components of

each and every system.

The personnel know how and hands on

knowledge make the big difference in

the execution and schedule of the

project requirements

All proper tools and machineries, from

excavator, cable hoist, compressors to

hand tools were bought and delivered.

All bracketing and supports were

tailored to site requirements.

With the experience and knowledge of

Maldives condition and nature of the

water tide and water table for

underground work, Kurihara Kogyo

adopted Vacuum system for the

Sanitary System.

The system eliminates the need for

flow gradient in the waste discharge.

Four Seasons Resort, Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru

Landaa Giraavaru is sited in the BAA Atoll

North of the Main Capital, Male. The distance

between Male, in North Male Atoll to the

project site is 121km which takes 3 hrs

traveling with speed launch or 9 hrs with the

local boats, or dhonis.

Studies and understanding that logistic is the

one of the main feature for the execution of

the project, the company set up and

maintain a close communication network

both in Singapore and Maldives, not

excluding the close co-operation with its

associated forwarders and suppliers.

The main mode of transportation and

delivery of equipments and materials is by

the sea. With the knowledge on the climate

and the transportation mode of Maldives,

the company engages 100% check on proper

packing and labelling of every material

delivered with the forwarders and suppliers.

Due to Maldives geographical isolation, all

materials from equipments to bolts and nuts

are controlled and accountable with a stock

list monitoring system.

With a systematic documentation and

handing over, the resort maintenance

team was given one week of former

training on all the systems by our

engineers and two months of operation

interfacing period.

The fire Hydrant pipe works were pre

erected in Singapore work shop with all

brackets and supports, simulation of the

calculated pump room area, and re-

assembled on site. This methodology

eliminates any missing out of parts.

All systems were tested with proper

record and endorsement through the

company licensed and competent

engineers, witnessed by the client’s

representative engineers.

The whole execution work from planning, designing, materials supply, delivery,

supervision, testing and commissioning, training, documentation and submission

was completed in 2 years. The resort was officially launched and operated on Oct

2006.

HULHULE, ISLAND HOTEL MALDIVES, NEW GUESTROOMS EXTENSION

Being a reliable and trustworthy business partner couple with its past records and

active participation in plants and equipment exports, Kurihara Kogyo was invited

and awarded for the M&E construction work for New Guestroom Extension for

Hulhule, Island Hotel Maldives on June 2006.

With the engineering details established, the company set up the site in two weeks.

length requirement measure to site,

all necessary materials are shipped

and delivered in the shortest time.

coded as per the consultant

requirement couple with the

specified quality, engineered

calculated gauging and salty

environmental coating.

All services are co-ordinate in

details.

Standard installation practice is

carried out and witness by the

clients representative.

insulation materials as according to British Standard of practice.

Two different Guestroom type were mocked up as per schedule.

All M&E fittings and outlets are delivered and installed as per architectural and
