Prayer of Thanksgiving for Spiritual Blessings

“God, before I even took my first breath, you already

knew me and loved me. Thank you for sending your

son, Jesus, to die for my sins. I cannot even imagine

sacrificing one of my children so a criminal could go

free, but that’s exactly what you did–for me! Thank

you for the gift of eternal life you freely offer those

who love you, and thank you for the precious gift of

the Holy Spirit to lead me into Your presence until

You call me home. You truly have given me so much,

even when I was so far from you. Thank you!”

Amen

Are you called to serve? Answer the call Our parish community relies on the generosity of our volunteers time and talents. Thank you to all of you who serve selflessly in our ministries. Currently we need help in two specific ministries: Sacristans and Visual Aid Ministers. Sacristans work directly with the priest, and all of the liturgical ministry leaders. The sacristan sets up the sanctuary for Mass. Visual Aid Minister: This is a new, and very important role for our parish community. The visual aid minister will assist with the PowerPoint during Mass. Please prayerfully consider helping with these, or any of the other ministries we have at the church which includes: ushers, altar servers, lectors Eucharistic ministers, choir, catechists, arts and environment, and hospitality.

No experience needed: We will train you. “God does not call the qualified, he qualifies the

called.”

Call the church office for more information

Thank you to all of the parishioners who have graciously have given your treasures to the church, so we can serve God’s people. We depend on your support. Lent is a time to give a sacrificial offering to enhance the lives of others. We have a few needs in our parish. Paschal Candle: The Paschal Candle represents the risen Christ as a symbol of light (life) dispelling the darkness (death). At the beginning of the Easter Vigil, after kindling the Easter fire, the new Paschal Candle is lit. We light this candle during the Easter season, and for Baptisms and funerals. The cost of the candle is $250.00. Altar Server Surplice & Cassock: The server surplices and cassocks are very old, and we would like to replace them this year. The cost for each surplice and cassock is $100.00. We will need a minimum of 10 sets. Catholic Youth Bibles and YouCats: Our middle school and high school program is in need of a classroom set of Catholic Youth Bibles and youth Catechism books. The cost per Bible is $28.00 and the YouCat is $20.00. We would like to have a set of 25 books for our teens to use for classes and youth group.

Easter Decorations: Our Arts and Environment committee is seeking donations to update our Easter decorations. Just like our Christmas decorations, we have not replaced our decorations in over 15 years, and most of them were used. If you would like to help us with our needs, please indicate on your check or envelope where you would like your donation to be earmarked. If you have any questions, you can call Pat or Kim in the church office.

May God continue to bless our Church and our parishioners with abundant

blessings. Thank you

Dear Beloved Sponsors

Greetings in the Name of our Savior.

I never cease to give thanks to the Al-mighty God for the gift of each one of you and for all your compassionate and sacrificial generosity in support of the education of our children at the Good

Samaritan Mission school- Uganda.

I am very much aware of the fact that many of you are facing difficult situa-

tions and in the light of such, I share my humble and prayerful words of peace, hope, encouragement and sympathy to all of you who are in distress, and to you who have suffered painful losses of your loved ones in recent days, weeks or months since this pandemic visit-

ed our land.

I also wish to inform you that I had a short vacation to Uganda by the end of January through mid February, 2021. Greetings from my family and from the children at the Mission School whom you hold so dear close to your com-

passionate hearts.

Although 95% of schools in Uganda including our Mission School are yet to resume classes due to Covid 19 pre-cautionary measures in place, at least our Candidate and sub Candidate classes (grade 7 and 6 respectively), have

returned to classrooms since early January 2021. This means however, that the rest of the lower grades (kindergarten through grade 5) still receive reading materials from home. We continue to monitor the situation with

optimism hoping normal schooling will resume soon.

During my short vacation I was able to finish up the remaining work on the Teachers’ Quarters named in loving memory of Gus Perrotta whose love for the Mission touched many hearts, as so true with each one of you.

The Teacher’s Quarters are now functional with solar panels providing light fully installed.

I once again make a humble appeal to you for your continued support that we may get the children through this

Academic Year 2021.

May the Almighty God reward your generosity many folds over. AMEN.

Yours in Christ, Fr. FRANK LUBOWA

Feliz Navidad de mis nietos Johnny y William

¿Estás llamado a servir?

hospitalidad.

Muchas gracias
