The military is rushing robots to Afghanistan in an

eort to protect troops on foot patrol .

The equipment includes small robots that can betossed over walls and through windows into homesallowing troops to look for bombs in areas they

cannot see. The robots transmit images to troopswaiting at a safe distance.

The military for example is also dispatching asmaller version of a large armored vehicle that is

used to clear roads of hidden mines and bombs. Thesmall versions include the same technology such asmetal detectors and ground!penetrating radar butcan be used on narrow trails.
