De New Dutch Academy (NDA) is een bekroonde groep van veertig internationale, jonge, uiterst gengageerde en gespecialiseerde musici afkom-stig uit alle delen van de wereld, die in Den Haag bijeen komen om 18de-eeuwse muziek in al haar vormen en verscheidenheid te verkennen en te presenteren.

De NDA speelt uitsluitend op authentieke in-strumenten en heeft furore gemaakt met haar frisse, levendige en dynamische speelstijl. Haar gengageerde programmering van zowel klassieke als herontdekte 18de-eeuwse meesterwerken bie-den het hedendaagse publiek inspirerende nieuwe inzichten in de werken van componisten als J.S. Bach, Mozart, Beethoven en hun tijdgenoten.

Met deze brochure presenteren wij u NDAs drie Haagse concertseries: de Symfonische Serie (DAPZ, Spuiplein), de Bach Orkestrale Serie (Kloosterkerk) en de Kamermuziek Serie (Theater Diligentia).

De NDA maakt deel uit van de officile culturele infrastructuur van Den Haag en wil de gemeente en alle andere partners hartelijk danken voor hun gewaardeerde ondersteuning! The New Dutch Academy (NDA) is an award-winning group of 40 international, young, highly engaged, specialist musicians from around the world who gather in The Hague to explore and perform 18th century music in all its forms. Performing exclusively on authentic instruments, the NDA has quickly won international acclaim for its fresh, vibrant and dynamic performance style and its groundbreaking programming of classic as well as newly rediscovered 18th c. masterworks offering modern audiences inspiring new insights into the music of composers such as J.S. Bach, Mozart, Beethoven and their contemporaries.

This brochure details the NDAs concert events in The Hague featuring three series in three locations: The Symphonic Series (DAPZ Spuiplein), The Bach Orchestral Series (Kloosterkerk) and The Chamber Music Series (Diligentia). The NDA is part of the official cultural infrastructure of The Hague and we would like to thank the city and our other partners for their valued support. De NDA is een graag geziene gast bij de meest vooraanstaande podia en concertseries in geheel Nederland. Recente hoogtepunten omvatten uit-voeringen van symfonien van Beethoven, Haydn en Mozart in De Doelen (Rotterdam) en Vreden-burg (Utrecht), Handels Water Music voor de NPS ZaterdagMatinee in Het Concertgebouw (Amster-dam) en Corellis Concerti Grossi (Festival Oude Muziek, Utrecht en Muziek Centrum Frits Philips, Eindhoven). Deze concerten werden rechtstreeks door de Nederlandse omroep uitgezonden. Internationaal gezien is de NDA regelmatig uit-genodigd om op locaties van grote historische betekenis Nederland te vertegenwoordigen tijdens prestigieuze internationale festivals. De NDA heeft

tournees gemaakt door Europa, Noord Amerika, Rusland, Azi en Australi. Recente hoogtepunten zijn wel de concerten tijdens het Bachfest Leipzig, de Thringer Bachwochen en de Hndel Festspiele in Halle, evenals de Hudson 400 viering in New York. Komende hoogtepunten zullen ondermeer uit-voeringen bevatten van Nederlandse symfonische kroonjuwelen in de 13de-eeuwse Bijloke in Gent en uitvoeringen van symfonische en sacrale werken van Joseph Schmitt, De Nederlandse Haydn, voor het Rheingau Musik Festival in het 12de-eeuwse Klooster Eberbach.

The NDA is a popular guest at the leading halls and series throughout the Netherlands. Recent highlights include performances of symphonies by Beethoven, Haydn and Mozart in De Doelen (Rotterdam) and Vredenburg (Utrecht), Handels Water Music for the NPS ZaterdagMatinee in The Concertgebouw (Amsterdam) and Corellis Concerti Grossi (Festi-val Oude Muziek and MCFP, Eindhoven) in concerts broadcast live by Dutch Radio.

Internationally, the NDA is regularly invited to per-form at prestigious international festivals in locations of major historical significance. The NDA has toured throughout Europe, North America, Russia, Scandi-navia, Asia and Australia. Recent highlights include performances at the Bachfest Leipzig, Thringer

Bachwochen and the Hndel Festspiele, as well as for the Hudson 400 celebrations in New York. Upcoming highlights include performances of Dutch symphonic crown jewels at the 13th c. Bijloke in Gent and per-formances of symphonic and sacred works by Joseph Schmitt The Dutch Haydn for the Rheingau Musik Festival in the 12th c. Cloister Eberbach.

Overige Activiteiten

De NDA onderneemt naast haar researchactivitei-ten en concertuitvoeringen verscheidene andere initiatieven die mensen en muziek op volstrekt innovatieve wijze samenbrengen.

Zo organiseert de NDA inleidende gesprekken voorafgaand aan haar concerten en workshops met een sterk participatief karakter zoals onder-meer de workshop historische dans welke onder-deel uitmaakt van het Education Programme. Voor muziekstudenten en aankomende professionele musici worden regelmatig masterclasses gegeven.

Amateurmusici komen aan hun trekken bij NDAs Community Arts Programme, waarbij zij tijdens de jaarlijks terugkerende Baroque Summer en

Baroque Winter projecten door NDA musici wor-den gecoacht en begeleid.

NDAs Outreach Programme is gericht op niet-klassiek publiek met uitvoeringen op ongebrui-kelijke concertlocaties. Voor senioren en minder mobiele mensen biedt NDAs Community Care Programme concerten op locatie in een groot aantal zorginstellingen.
