Special Agent for Drug Enforcement, Chief Investigator, Chief Deputy Sheriff and as a member of several Federal Task Forces.

› Previous partner/owner for a security & security consulting firm, National Security Enforcement in the US, which serviced both private and public sectors.

› For the last 10 years, Nick has worked in public safety technology, fulfilling his obligation to provide public safety agencies the latest tools available today to increase officer safety and improve the well­being of the citizens they serve.

Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD): › CAD systems consist of several modules that provide

services at multiple levels in a dispatch center and in the field of public safety.

› These services include call input, call dispatching, call status maintenance, event notes, GIS (Mapping), field unit status and tracking, and call resolution and disposition.

› CAD systems also include interfaces that permit the software to provide services to dispatchers, call­takers, and field personnel with respect to control and use of analog radio and telephony equipment, as well as logger­ recorder functions.

Mobile Data Computing (MDC): › MDC allows for the electronic transfer of data from a main

server or database to a laptop computer in the mobile units.

› Data can be transmitted through various infrastructures, such as wireless cards, internet hot spots and manual synchronization.

› MDC also allows for officers to work on reports in their vehicles, such as incident reports, traffic accident reports and citations.

› Most MDC applications offer a silent feature as well as voice activation for officer safety while driving.

Records Management Systems (RMS): › RMS is an agency­wide/multi­agency system that provides

for the storage, retrieval, retention, manipulation, archiving and viewing of information, records, documents or files pertaining to law enforcement operations.

› RMS covers the entire life span of records development ­ from the initial generation to its completion.

› An effective RMS allows single entry of data, while supporting multiple reporting mechanisms.

› An agency’s RMS should provide the capabilities for users to generate inquiries to internal and external data sources. In the states, such sources include as state Department of Motor Vehicles and criminal history files.

Agencies are not able to share information about crime, incidents, traffic accidents etc., causing crime to simply move around and doesn’t eliminate it.

Law enforcement and public safety agencies can share information about people, incidents, and vehicles, making everyone aware of possible threats and persons of interest.

Dispatching appropriate units to a call can be time consuming and difficult causing delays and risk to the safety of officers and the community.

CAD allows for streamlined dispatching, allowing one person to take emergency calls and effectively and quickly dispatch appropriate entities, whether fire, ambulance, law enforcement, or others.

Information is inaccessible making report generation and statistic analytics virtually impossible.

The Master Index files allow for easy, real­ time capture of data for easy daily reporting capabilities and statistical analysis readily available.

Redundant data entry which wastes time and effort.

Entry of the data once and shared system­ wide, allowing information to be entered about a person or vehicle or location just one time, and accessed throughout CAD, MOBILE, JAIL or RMS. Saves time and keeps an accurate, real­time history of the person or event.

No data available for mobile units making mobile efforts ineffective and dangerous.

Mobile units are armed with information about the communities they serve and have an open line of communication with other mobile units and headquarters. Keeps officers safe while maintaining their presence in the community.

Large events become difficult and dangerous for citizens and tourists in the area; mob rule can take over quickly and cause panic and trouble for law enforcement and the city.

All public safety and law enforcement agencies are linked together with open lines of communication, providing a barrier to crime and supporting the safety of citizens and tourists.
