We have a variety of amazing items including olive products in the olive shop. In Café Olivaz, you can enjoy a cup of herb tea supplied with herbs raised in the olive park and desserts using olive oil. Business hours 8:30~17:00 7 days a week Herb Craft Museum Milos You can experience making accessories using olives and herbs.The staff will help you to make wreaths, potpourris and other products in the course and everyone can enjoy making crafts in about 30 minutes. Greece Windmill A Greek-style windmill which is perfect for the location of Shodoshima, the birthplace of olive horticulture in Japan and is reminiscent of the Aegean Sea. This is a popular spot for ceremonial photographs. Windmills have been used as millhouses since the early 19th century and are found all over in Greece and around the Aegean Sea. Garden of a Flower and the Fragrance In this garden, you can enjoy over 130 kinds of herbs. Please feel gentle fragrances of the herbs by touching herbs directly with hands. In the garden, a set of an live-action film Kiki’s Delivery Service was transferred and used as a shop. We have goods related to herbs and will show you how to live with herbs together with flowers coloring the garden. Your favorite herbs can be purchased in the next greenhouse. Business hours 9:00~17:00 7 days a week Olive Road When walking down the Olive Hill, the evergreen leaves shake in the wind and the silver color on the back of the leaves glitters in the sunlight. The gentle ocean of the Seto Inland Sea and blue sky can be seen between the trees. Shodoshima Olive Garden This garden cultivates about 2,000 olives and is the first garden in Japan to cultivate olives. The shop sells various olive products such as cosmetics and edible oil using olives harvested and processed in the park, and the low price in line with the direct sales is attractive. Business hours 8:30~17:00 7 days a week Original Olive Tree The oldest original tree in a private olive garden in Japan. The location of Olive Hill is excellent. You can see the Tanoura Peninsula and the Mito peninsula beyond the Uchinomi Bay from the hill where the original olive tree continues to thrive. Isamu Noguchiʼs Play Equipment Isamu Noguchi created a playground sculpture to bring art into daily life. This installation consists with three kinds of sculptures. When you play here, you can enjoy the dialogue with the open world, the unique world which children find as well as the dialogue with the sky, the sea, the sun, the moon, stars and the universe. Please enjoy both mentally and physically. Shodoshima became the birthplace of olives in our country. This monument was built by Kagawa prefecture in 1987 (Showa 62). ARTETRA The famous AKARI series is another art element of Isamu Noguchi. The soft light produced by the Japanese lighting equipment harmonizes with furniture designed by Isamu Noguchi in this space. The world view of Isamu Noguchi, an artist who loved nature, is skillfully expressed here. Tower of Civilization Oratorio In 1586, 1,400 islanders were baptized into Christianity. Japanese history records that Christian Daimyo Yukinaga Konishi built a 15-meter high crucifix and wished for happiness. This cross was built in commemo- ration of 400 year anniversary of the introduction of Christianity into Japan. The building on the right is an oratorio (prayer house).
