The Transition from Business Objects to JasperSoft

Currently live with Business Objects and JasperSoft.

Existing custom reports remain in Business Objects until converted

Allows time for conversion of existing custom reports while all new and out-of-the-box reports are in JasperSoft.

Condensed the upgrade timeline.


Running Business Objects and JasperSoft

Two copies of TomCat will be required to support both

configurations.

As reports are converted to JasperSoft the custom BO

report access is removed.

Multiple reporting tools required during the

transition.

Goal to complete transition by end of year to align

with end of support for Business Objects.


Value of the Analytics Database

The data warehouse is integrated with the

system now.

Adding fields to the data warehouse can be done

by an administrator checking a check box versus

a DBA changing the schema.

SQL knowledge not needed to create views.

More users are now able to obtain data without

support from the Clarity Administration Team.


JasperSoft Learning Curve

Knowledge of JAVA is required in addition to differences in the SQL code.

Complex reports are currently a challenge – partnering with CA towards resolution.

Documentation is still being completed by CA and JasperSoft.
