Kada je presek stuba pravougaonik, dimenzija b/d, onda se zamenjujui prenikkrunog preseka sraunava kao
ds = 1.13bd
Ako je d > 1.5b treba uzeti d=1.5b. Razlog za ovo je to se koncentracija smicanjadeava na uglovima, s jedne strane, a sa druge, na bonim stranama stuba veeduine ne vlada dvoosno stanje napona pa su doputeni naponi manji i taj deo sezanemaruje.
