Part 3: Principle of Design
Arrangement of Opposite Elements-light vs. dark colors-rough vs. smooth textures -large vs. small shapes -create visual interest, excitement and drama.
![Page 21: Powerpointdayofdeadslideshow](https://reader036.vdocuments.pub/reader036/viewer/2022070515/587c46281a28ab5a1d8b7a3f/html5/thumbnails/21.jpg)
-Contrast between light and dark colors
![Page 22: Powerpointdayofdeadslideshow](https://reader036.vdocuments.pub/reader036/viewer/2022070515/587c46281a28ab5a1d8b7a3f/html5/thumbnails/22.jpg)
Contrast Provides Focal Point
-Where does your eye go first?
-Why is the leaf texture in focus, while the background is smooth and out of focus?
![Page 23: Powerpointdayofdeadslideshow](https://reader036.vdocuments.pub/reader036/viewer/2022070515/587c46281a28ab5a1d8b7a3f/html5/thumbnails/23.jpg)
Is a focal point important?
- Your eye will generally need a ‘resting place’ or something of interest to really hold it.
- Where does your eye rest in this photo?
![Page 24: Powerpointdayofdeadslideshow](https://reader036.vdocuments.pub/reader036/viewer/2022070515/587c46281a28ab5a1d8b7a3f/html5/thumbnails/24.jpg)
Don’t Forget….
the rule of thirds!
