The integration of GIS with SCADA and DMS can

be done by adapting Common Information

Module(CIM).

CIM uses standard interfaces for the integration

of heterogenous systems .

synchronised clocks.

SMARTGRID-ENVIRONMENTALFRIENDLY

Electricity generation and transmission contributes to

40% of the global CO2 emissions.

What is needed is a new approach that significantly

increases the efficiency of the entire electrical

delivery system. This approach will not only increase

reliability, but will also reduce energy in the delivery

process and thereby reduce greenhouse house

emissions. We call this new approach Smart Grid.

Implementation of smart grids will lead to an annualreduction of over 20 giga tonnes of CO2 by 2050.
