Raise boring ofrece varias ventajas sobre otros métodos de perforación y voladura. Las más importantes son seguridad, velocidad, las características físicas del hoyo completado, la reducción de personal y la reducción de costos.

El factor de seguridad en la perforación por raise boring no se puede exagerar. No hay hombres expuestos al peligro de la caída de roca de un terreno recién volado o para el continuo uso de explosivos, con sus humos y el peligro inherente de fallos de encendido. The advantages of all SBM machines in comparative to the Robbins brand are a couple of basic things:

1.- We use a hydraulic drive system vs. an electric drive system. The hydraulic drive system is much more forgiving system because you can vary the rpm to whatever you need which extends the life of your drill pipe dramatically and decreases your chances of dropping the reamer.

2.- Our machine is far less complicated and is more efficient due to less breakdowns, a general mechanic can fix any issue with our equipment while Robbins will require a specialist causing long down times.

3.- Price, we guarantee to beat their price. With our package all accessories are included in the price besides the Crawler, which is separate. Atlas Copco will charge you for every item individually. Accessories included: wrenches, erection sled, pipe positioner, bit basket and starter bushings.

In regards to specs; attached are the machine specs for both the SBM-700 and the SBM-800. The sales price of the SBM-800 is slightly more but its capacity is far greater and it can use all three pipe sizes Ø 10", Ø11 1/4" and Ø12 7/8” with a simple change of the thread coupling, wrenches and wear pads on the pipe positioner.

In regards to the rest of your list we can provide it all. As far as less than 6 months we can do it but your purchase order would have to be sent to us very soon and the delivery time would be 5 months. As far as the port is concerned we can change it to whatever port you would like.

Penetration rates will vary depending on the rock conditions but for piloting 15 min per rod is a safe piloting speed that will lead to little to no deviation and reaming in ground 80-120 Mpa. 70cm-1m per hour. With consumption we suggest water and the more you can pump down the whole the better as long as the ground conditions are not a type that swell or are unstable, we don’t recommend air. Hydraulic oil every 3000-4000 hours but the filters on the power pack we suggest to change every hole no matter the length by doing so you insure the oil is clean and the longer lasting life time of your pumps. With cutters we typically get 800-1000 meters depending on rock but those numbers are not guaranteed by anybody in the raise boring business because rock type’s change too much to give accurate quotes plus in reality it depends on the operator using the equipment properly.

The SBM-800 while may be more money it is by far more machine that all the others that you have mentioned, it not only has the ability to use all three pipe sizes, but also it has way more thrust and torque capabilities. This machine is capable of pulling holes up to 8m at over 150m deep with 150 mpa rock so if you are under that size which you will be, this machine can do whatever size you may need now and long into the future. Also I would be more than willing to send a technician for up to 2 months for commissioning and training free of chargewhen the machine is purchased.
