DEPOSITS – CANCELLATIONS -‐ REFUNDS: The registration deposit of $500 per person is required to con6irm tour acceptance and will be applied to total price of program selected. Pilgrim’s names not required at this time. Full Payment is due by February 1, 2016. If full payment is not received by February 1, 2016; the passenger will be automatically cancelled. All payments are non-‐refundable. Name substitutions will be permitted after registration up to February 01, 2016. New Pilgrims may be added at full price subject to space availability by March 01, 2016. Day 1: SUN, JUL 17: (Subject to change with airline): North America/Ireland. Depart North America for Ireland(Dublin or Shannon subject to availability) Your flight includes meals, drinks, and in-flight entertainment. Day 2: MON, JUL 18: WELCOME TO IRELAND. Arrive at Shannon or Dublin airport and meet your driver & guide to transfer to Cashel in Co. Tipperary. Lunch on your own. Visit Cahir Castle. Superbly set on a rocky island in the River Suir, this impressive fifteenth-century castle - the largest of its period in Ireland - was considered impregnable until the advent of heavy cannon. Once the stronghold of the powerful Butler family, the castle retains its keep, tower and much of its original defensive structure. The origins of the castle are traced back to the third century when a Dun (earthen fort) was built upon the rocky island. This gave the town of Cahir its original name "Dun Iascaigh" (town of the fish fort). This along with a guided tour will help the visitor to fully understand the history of Cahir, its town, its castle and the surrounding area. Continue to Rock of Cashel. Possibly the most photographed site in Ireland, the Rock of Cashel is one of Ireland's leading tourist attractions. Transfer to Limerick for dinner at your hotel. Day 3: TUES, JUL 19: LIMERICK - GALWAY. After breakfast depart Limerick for Galway via the stunningly scenic County Clare.This morning visit the Cliffs of Moher. A visit of the tower is also possible. Continue your journey through the Burren Region. The Burren is truly an exceptional part of Ireland. Continue to Galway along Galway Bay. Dinner and overnight at your hotel in Galway or nearby area. Day 4: WED JUL 20: GALWAY. This morning we will explore Galway and the Connermara Region. Enjoy lunch on our own. Then we will head north for our hotel in Co. Mayo for an overnight.
D a y 5 : T H U , J U L 2 1 : C R O A G H PAT R I C K - BALLINTUBBER ABBEY. Morning hike of Croagh Patrick. Lunch on our own. The next stop is a visit to Ballintubber Abbey. A visit to the Knock Shrine--- This little town is an important pilgrimage centre and has been famous for over a century as the site of visions, apparitions, and miraculous cures.
Dinner and overnight at your hotel in Mayo or nearby area.
Day 6: FRI, JUL 22: MAYO - DUBLIN. Today you will depart Mayo for Dublin via the midlands of Ireland. En route visit Clonmacnoise A wonderful early Christian site founded by St. Ciarán in the mid-6th century on the eastern bank of the River Shannon. Lunch on your own. Upon arrival in Dublin, check into hotel and enjoy your traditional farewell dinner and overnight. Day 7: SAT, JUL 23: DEPART FOR KRAKOW, POLAND. After a final farewell breakfast at your hotel, transfer to Dublin airport for your departure flight. Upon arrival in Krakow “ or alternate city”, we will be met by a CPO staff member at the airport. Then we continue on a panoramic tour on the way to our WYD accommodations.
Day 8: SUN, JUL 24: KRAKOW – POPE JOHN PAUL II. This morning we drive to Wadowice, home town of Pope John Paul II, visiting the Holy Father’s House, now a museum, and his home parish church. Return to Krakow to visit the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy in Lagiewniki where Pope JP II had early connections and in 2002 consecrated the Basilica. We visit the Church of St. Stanislaw on the Rock and Nova Huta Church, built in the shape of a boat. In the afternoon, we will have a tour of Krakow including Main Market Square with St. Mary's Church and its Wit Stwosz Altar, and Wawel Cathedral with Royal tombs and a grand statue of Pope John Paul II. Onwards to the Abbey of Mogita where the miraculous Crucifix with the human hair is located. Onwards to the Abbey of Mogita where the miraculous Crucifix with the human hair is located. Return to Krakow for an overnight. Day 9: MON, JUL 25: KRAKOW - WIELICZKA - CZESTOCHOWA - KRAKOW. This morning we will visit Wieliczka, once Europe’s most prolific rock salt mines where the miners built shrines and a Cathedral underground. Then we depart for Częstochowa. Upon arrival we visit the monastery and the chapel of the miraculous painting of the Black Madonna, a shrine of the Virgin Mary. Take a guided tour of the Shrine by one of the Paulinian brothers. Next we visit the Basilica, which is the main church of the monastery. Celebrate Mass. On our return through Ojców you can admire the ruins of a medieval castle at Pieskowa Skała. Return to Krakow for overnight.
Day 10: TUE, JUL 26: WYD. This morning and afternoon is a day of leisure. This evening we attend the opening ceremonies of World Youth Day 2016. Day 11: WED, JUL 27: WYD. Catechesis (teaching) sessions in the morning and festival events in the afternoon and evening. Day 12: THU, JUL 28: WYD. Catechesis (teaching) sessions in the morning. Arrival and welcome of the Holy Father in the afternoon and evening. Day 13: FRI, JUL 29: WYD. Catechesis (teaching) sessions in the morning. Stations of the Cross - a re-enactment of our Lord's Passion and Death in the afternoon and evening. Day 14: SAT, JUL 30: WYD. Pilgrimage walk to site of Closing Mass, evening Vigil with the Holy Father and sleep out 'under the stars'.
Day 15: SUN, JUL 31: WYD. Closing Mass and concluding events. We will enjoy a farewell dinner and then overnight at our accommodations. Day 16: MON, AUG 01: POLAND/ NORTH AMERICA. We transfer to the airport for our departure from Poland to North America - the end of our Pilgrimage to World Youth Day 2016.
