INTRODUCTION

A techno pedagogue is a person who focuses on the user of

technology and whose expertise is in electronic pedagogy theory and

methods. A techno pedagogue is not a systems administrator or network

administrators. That’s a job for the technical person you hired when you

thought they could also help your teachers apply technology in the

classroom. The techno pedagogue is the person who sits with your teachers

and help them see the practical uses, and appropriate uses, of technology

attain their educational goals. This persons expertise is grounded in

educational theory, curriculum development and course design the techno

pedagogue also design model courses that uses technology for other teachers

to learn from.

TECHNO PEDAGOGYTechno pedagogy is a type of bilingualism, one foot in human

needs and processes and other in technology and all its potential. A techno

pedagogue can oversee the design, production and even implementation

of online environments, interfaces and tools that support learning or

diverse process. The techno pedagogue communicates and information

architects and programmers as well as professionals translating from one

to other.

Techno pedagogy refers to the united potential of technology and

pedagogy to transform individual and organizational practices. It is a rich

and nuanced conversation between the technological possibilities, the

cognitive models we carry with us, and the real need of a system.

Lifelong learning and portfoliosThe portfolio is means to support the transition to learning and to

appropriate ones digital identity. Much more than a resume, it is use of

digital tools to capture, value develop, communicate and competencies.

Supporting personal professionanal and organizational development, and

organizational development, portfolios’ are about both private space and

actively projecting in to the public online space and they can serve as hub

for networking, accessing communication and networking.

Collaborative working methodsIt has never been so easy to work together in dynamic way,

disregarding time and space. Online tools facilitate the co-creation all

kinds of documents, directly and dynamically online with the simplicity

of word processing. In this way project memories and knowledge

management are embedded in daily process, eliminating supplementary

documentation steps associated with traditional techniques.

Participatory sharing

Together new legal vocabulary surrounding copyright and the online

environments facilitating access, have a direct impact on a how we share

creations of all kinds.

Building Techno-Pedagogical skills in preservice

teachersAlthough presevice teachers do have a degree of knowledge with

regard to information and communication technologies, they have little

know – how or techno pedagogical ability, with which to interpret those

technologies into their teaching practice.

Each student entering the faculty of education is required to take

EDUC 3508 Communications Technology and Education during

professional semester 1 .the primary focus of the course is to provide

experiences for the students that will help them effectively help them

effectively infuse technology into their future classrooms. This objective is

accomplished by providing students with the opportunity to use a variety of

technologies to accomplish tasks and by explicitly exposing them to the

process of learning new technologies.

Conclusion

This article has provided a working definition of techno-

pedagogically skilled teachers and exemplified how hybrid approach of meta

teaching, technology exposure and critical reflection can be used to unhands

instruction. In all of our endeavors to prepare technology pedagogically

skilled teachers, it is crucial that we incorporate an underpinning of

technology and pedagogy to prepare our preservice teachers to teach with

technology and become learners on never ending journey.
