on the matter. 9fter many arguments( the $lanets ould not reah to a onlusion. So( theysought hel$ from the ing of devas( Aord Devendra. But( Aord Indra felt that if he gives a

,udgement in favour of one $lanet( all other $lanets will beome disSathisFed with him.

!ene( he advised the $lanets to seek the re?uired ,udgement from the wise ing

8ikramaditya on earth.

!eeding to the advie of Aord Indra( the seven $lanets a$$roahed ing 8ikramaditya and

sought his ,udgement. ing 8ikramaditya was overwhelmed to see the Gods. !e treated

them with utmost res$et and devotion. Sine he was dutiful( he ae$ted the diLult task

before him( graefully.

#hese thrones were made from Gold( Bron7e( Brass( #in( Oin( -ia and Iron res$etively. #he

thrones were numbered with Gold as no.* and Iron as no.1. #hen( ing 8ikramadityare?uested the seven Gods to grae the throne of their own seletion. Aord Surya ;Sun= hose

the Golden hair while Aord Shani ;Saturn= hose the Iron hair.

9t the <alae( ueen -adanalekha was worried about the ing. She was an ardent devoteeof Aord Shani Bhagwan. So( she $rayed to the Aord and re?uested him to save her husband.

Due to her $rayers( Aord Shani $romised to save ing 8ikramaditya%s life( but on the

ondition that he has to undergo rigorous hardshi$s due to his karma.

ing 8ikramaditya Fnally reahed a nearby town. In tattered lothes( he looked shabby like a

beggar. Nobody reogni7ed him as the ing of ,,ain. 9 wealthy trader( who was on his way

home( took $ity on 8ikramaditya and oered to give him food and shelter. ing 8ikramaditya

started working as a domesti hel$ in the trader%s house.



9s days $assed by( the trader grew attahed to 8ikramaditya and he gave him the

res$onsibility of doing arrangements for his daughter%s wedding eremony. So( 8ikramaditya

went to the market to $urhase the re?uired things for the marriage eremony. #here( he

met a mysterious man. !e was none other than Aord Shani in disguise. #he mysterious man

gave 8ikramaditya a $iture of a duk and disa$$eared. 8ikramaditya( unassumingly took it

She sent her servants to investigate. :ust then 8ikramaditya had om$leted @aga Dee$ika(

and all the lam$s une3$etedly went out. #he servants informed the $riness that the

$erson whose hands and legs were ho$$ed o on her father%s orders was the singer. She

sent him an invite to ome and sing for her. 8ikramaditya tried to deline thinking that

Saturn might have not Fnished with him yet( but on the insistene of the girl he agreed.

#hereafter he ke$t singing various ragas for her( eah a$$ro$riate for the time of the day ornight. !is Sade Sathi also was also oming to an end. #he $riness too had deided to get

was unaware of this drama( and thought to himself that there was more misery left for him

to undergo and Saturn did not show him his grae.
