Skills

Operating Systems Linux RTOSProgramming Languages C, Python

Simulation Tools Wireshark, Packet-tracerDebugging Tools GDB debuggerL1 & L2 Protocols worked on Ethernet, T1/E1, T3/E3, MPLS, VLAN, PPPoE

Test Equipment used Ixia, Spirent, Symetricomm, CalnexScripts Tcl, bash, ClearcaseOthers Data Structures & Multi-threading, Kernel debuggingBus Technologies MII, MDIO, ESI, Interlaken, SPI4, PCI, I2C

Professional ExperienceSoftware Engineer III @ Cisco Systems - (From Oct 2015 – Present)Working as a Software Development Engineer on ASR1000 Router family, which is predominantly used as Aggregation Services Router at Enterprise level, i.e. between Access and Core Network. We work on Layer 1 and Layer 2 functionality of Modular & Fixed chassis.

From Sep 2014 – till date

Primary owner for programming and debugging a backplane connectivity chip Used in ESI-16 mode which provides 100 Gbps throughput in one direction. In band flow control mechanism for both Ingress & Egress directions Scheduler uses credits mechanism to drain a link.

Implemented 5-tuple based hashing algorithm to select a member link from Port-channel in TX side.

Applicable for IPv4, IPv6 & MPLS traffic Built as part of microcode

Worked on MDR(Minimum disruptive Reload) project The effect of the MDR is to reduce the downtime during SW upgrade of Linecard. Traffic disruption should come down from 100 seconds to 25 seconds. Done in two phases. MDR Prepare and MDR start.

Implemented driver for Clocking(ZL30150) device(which does 8bit Register read/write) on I2C bus

Character device driver with a device node for 32 bit read/write. Provides clocking to all the devices in the chassis.

Implemented synchronous Ethernet on ASR1000 platform ASR1000-MIP100 Line card can support 1G/10G/100G port variants Built-in 1G/10G variants on ASR1002-HX & ASR1001-HX platform.

Worked on project where we had to design a Server-client model, which can handle any type of processing should scale to any number. Processing has to be done at client end. Server merely aggregates the whole and sends it across to Application

Supported three tasks Used TLV mode to communicate across nodes

Debugging Skills First point of contact for any compilation/environment issues seen while building

packages. Involved in Bug fixing. Continuous support for any customer issues reported. Use GDB to debug router or any critical process crash Involved in Kernel level debugging. Packet level debugging

Participated in Team Hackathons Worked on project where we were trying to provide corporate driver cab services.

Challenge here was to identify the person to be picked up Support dynamic route calculation

Implemented a CLI through which customer can enable and disable log collection of various processes.

Widely useful when debugging on customer testbeds.

Software Engineer II @ Cisco Systems - (From June 2012 – Oct 2015)From June 2012 to Aug 2014

Added Software support to enable Channelized T1/E1 & T3/E3 SPAs(Shared Port Adapter) Prepared Development UT plans, reviewed them & updated the same.

First point of contact for bugs/customer issues on Serial interfaces Fixed Loopback issues seen on T1/E1 spas.

Added user configurable CLI to enable dynamic statistics collection User can configure it from 1 to 10 seconds

Closely worked with Vitesse team on enabling macsec support for our PHYs Attended Linux Internals & Debugging training VFD contact from my team for multiple releases

Responsible to make sure nobody is breaking our platform

Assignments/Projects (As Part Of Academics)The details of the assignments I have handled both during studies are listed here

Project Design of Energy Efficient Algorithm for Wireless Body Area Sensor Networks(BASN)

Purpose M.Tech Major Project

Description To provide health care at minimum care and maximum efficiency Requires standardisation of communication protocols and data

storage formats

Page 3: Shravan_Nov-15-2016

An efficient routing protocol which requires minimum energy must be established between BASN and zigbee coordinator.

Protocol used is a variation of TDM

.

Project Controller for Remote Appliances

Purpose M.Tech Lab Project

Description Client server program which was used for interfacing the user to the system from any location. Authentication of the user is done using Tcl/Tk

System was designed to automate control signals based on count value.

Achievements and Rewards Global Innovation Program In Engineering Design and Innovation- IIT Delhi

o Mentored a B.Tech student for his internship Awarded Cisco Star award for the contribution made within the team Received multiple times Terminator award for fixing the most number of bugs in a week. Mentored new joinees for 6 months to get acquainted with the type of work done within the

team Rated among Top 20% at Senior Manger level for three years in a row Promoted to Senior Software Engineer position in the third year

Non – Academic Achievements Acted as one of the three representatives of Girnar Hostel(IIT Delhi) in the SAC(Student

Activity Committee) of IIT Delhi Appreciated by Senior Manager for starting a compulsory sports event within a team of 30, for

1 hr per week.
