1.Minimum Eligibility marks for UG course for the Academic year 2013-14:
In respect of UG course (B.E. /B.Tech) Government have been addressedseeking directions with regard to the minimum eligibility marks to be adopted for UGadmission of Students under NRI/CIWGC /PIO /FN quota, for the academic year 2013-14, since mere pass is no longer valid as per AICTE norms. Directions are awaitedfrom Government.
2. Minimum Eligibility marks for PG course for the Academic year 2013-14:
Requested to refer AICTE Approval Process Hand Book 2013-14. As per 1.2appendix of AICTEs Approval Process Hand Book 2013-14, the candidate shouldobtained atleast 50% (45% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) at thequalifying Examinations.
3. Issue of PEC to students who have secured marks below 50% during2012-13
The State Government has challenged the AICTE norms for minimum eligibilitymarks of 40% for SC/SCA/ST candidates before the Supreme Court. Government have
been addressed detailing the list of students admitted under NRI / FN quota who fulfillState Government norms (ie mere pass in +2) but fall short of marks prescribed byAICTE.
Directions have been sought from Government with regard to the minimumeligibility marks to be adopted for the year 2012-13 for students admitted under NIR/FNcategories. Orders are awaited from Government.
In this regard, the Candidates who have fulfilled the above DOTEs instructions maybe informed to obtain PEC application form in the office of the Student Affairs, Anna University,for the academic year 2013-14. The Last date for the issue of Application forms as well as forthe submission of filled application form may be fixed as 30.09.2013. A circular will be issued
as and when directions received from the Government with regard to the Minimum eligibilitymarks.
