Serving God is a privilege, not a burden. If God gives you an assignment, count yourself blessed

that He considers you faithful enough to trust you with it.

Our goal is to love and please God in everything we do. It makes no difference whether anyone ap-plauds our actions or not. We are called to be faithful, not famous.

The Challenge of Christian Leadership and ItsBenefits for the Good of All

One will ask, is there anything like Christian leadership? The resounding an-swer is yes and the Scripture has many instances about what leadership shouldbe completely different from other forms of leadership. Leadership is what givesan organization its vision and its ability to translate that vision into a reality, hence Christian leadership is a style of leadership based on the scripture andChristian principles intended to direct the members toward God and neighbor.

The Bible teaching about leadership involves a leader and a group of peo-ple. The leader exercises the ability to identify mutually beneficial goals, andcreates an environment and an effective method that motivates and channels thegroup to achieve those common goals according to the established laws of God.

The uniqueness of Christian leadership is that the entire process happenswithin the will, plan, priorities and purpose of Almighty God as revealed in theBible, and is grounded and operates under the lordship of Jesus Christ. It is fromthis source that Christian leaders derive qualifications, objectives, principles, andmethodologies.

In a group like ours, BCBP, we have an additional modus operandi aside fromthe scriptural bases of reference , hence, the BCBP leaders combine these twoand help the members to follow both set of rules in order to achieve the goalsand objectives set out by Christ and BCBP constitution. The methods of applica-tion of these objects vary from individual leaders. The primary thing being thatthe leader is God fearing, have the interest of the group at heart and be com-mitted to its course and be of service to the members which is what Christianleadership is all about, servant leader.

The challenge for every leader is to be a good follower, Our Lord JesusChrist told us to follow him, not to go ahead of him, a leaders is challenged first

and foremost to be a good follower, to be fair in dealing with members, be justin legislating and above all to be the servant of the community.

The benefit of a Christian leadership is enormous, both to the leader and theled. The satisfaction that comes in faithfully and honestly serving the community isunimaginable. Members of the community feel they belong to the group. Thismakes it easier for everyone to happily and joyfully participate in the affairs ofthe group knowing that their leaders are God-filled individual and do their bestto support the programs of the group

The strongest man is the man who is weakest before God. The greatest man is the man who is hum-

ble before God. The tallest man is the man who bends his knees before God .

    On Holy Grounds

I was privileged to join athree-day retreat at MountainPines Place, Bukidnon. Theplace is so breathtakinglybeautiful such that lookingaround it makes you communewith God, the maker of all

things. I feel like I am on holygrounds.

The feeling intensified aswe were oriented into theproceedings of the retreat. Itwas a silent retreat focused onmeditation and reflection.Proper decorum inside theoratory has to be observed.

Things like genuflect uponentering and leaving, nocrossing of feet, no placing offeet on the kneelers remindedus that we are in a Holy placewhere God is present thusmust be given the highest re-

    spect.Oh there were so many

simple things that I have to putto heart. Many things I have togive up and make up. I camehome with many realizationsdrawn from the meditations, talks, confession and one onone with our facilitators.

My task now is to act on myresolutions some of them arevery hard to do. But as Istarted doing them I found outit was easier because Godalways blesses good inten-tions. For I claim that I can do

all things through Jesus whogives me strength.

    TRANSFORMATIONFour months from now, I

    will relinquish my responsibil-

ity as chapter head to OrlyManuel as announced duringthe Regional Fellowship lastAugust 30, 2014. The timelyannouncement of the successorwas indeed a joy.

Looking back I ask myself.Have I not short changed thechapter? Being an idealist Ishould have done more totransform the chapter but I

too have my own limitationsand shortcomings. I cannot doit on my own.

Did I allow God to be withme in my plans and decisions? Was He with me in all my ac-tions? I believe yes. I hadnever been more prayerfuland discerning until this respon-sibility came. I have to give mybest for being a chapter headcomes only once in a lifetime.

Was it a joyful journey! Yes.It may have some sad andfrustrating experiences but Ibelieve it is just part of theover all journey.

Facing my personal chal-lenges and the challenges in-nate in the office of the chap-

ter head formed and trans-formed me. I was once an im-patient, stubborn and onesided person. I want things toconform to what I want andbelieve. However, it was notwhat surfaced during my ser-vice. God has his own way asin Romans 12:2:

Do not be conformed to this

world but be transformed by the

renewal of your mind, that you

may prove what is the will of

God, what is good and accept-

    able and perfect.

This I believe the greatestgrace I receive which made thewhole journey joyful and fulfill-ing.

Carry a heart that never hates, carry a smile that never fades, carry a touch that never hurts, andalways carry a love that gives and never breaks.

The archangel Michael is introduced as the leader of the

faithful angels in their struggle against the rebel angels led byLucifer, or Satan, who made war in heaven against the will ofGod (Rev. 12:7-9).

St. Michael, whose Hebrew name translates into English asWho is like God?, is the champion of the faithful in their strife

with the powers of evil. All throughout history, he is the specialprotector of those who love Jesus Christ. He has guarded thechosen people of Israel, and will defend Gods holy Church

against the battle of the Antichrist.
