This exhibition contains a sampling of my collec-tion of photographs from BahramBeyzaies films. These photos were taken when I accompanied Mr. Beyzarie while scouting shooting locations for the films The Crowe and May Be Another Time. This was an incredible opportunity for me to discover the old Tehran, and participate in a small way to create the scenes of old Tehran in these two films. Since then, neighborhoods have been ruined, but the pictures have remained.

Jafar Pakravan, in these works, reflects two lovers which freely make love in the world that they have made by themselves and none of the things that we have in reality, do not meant anything for these two. So maybe a light aperture is like a shrine and a pot near a plenteous garden. The field would become more clamoured and turbulent as the days went byThis time I gave my horses the chance to rebel or adjust themselves to the current rules of the field. One strives to be the fastest the same way its ancestors did and another blindly continues to stick with its traditional patient stride. How long will this repetition continue? Is there a meaning to it all? Will there be ascension? Is there creativity involved? Could repetition and creation become one? When did it all begin, and is all else an illusion?

A journey back- ward, not through memory or mind or analy-sis or reading or writing, but through our very flesh and blood, which seems profoundly attached to the moment? Is it possible that the present moment becomes chaotic to the extent that jumps out of its place on the unfolding time, and then we, bodily and spiritually, find ourselves in another street, another house, another country, another time, alongside those who took the irreversible way of fighting for freedom in the country and laid down their lives ...The current project is a meditation on those possibilities. ... Perhaps what I bring to the fore is nothing but utopic daydreaming, one of those candid optimistic moments that come around during abrupt social cracks and collective hopes. This is perhaps imagining simultaneity of us and the dead we ad-mire in an essentially different time, the time that has not come yet.
