来到美国，和老美们混熟了，在一起也可以聊聊天，听听他们对咱华人的真正看法。说起来，大多数美国人对咱华人还是很佩服的，尤其是华人的吃苦精神和聪明能干，让他们常常赞叹不已。可是对于华人的一些生活习惯，许多老美们都感觉不可思议，难以理解。细细说来，让他们感到莫名其妙的生活习惯大致有十点。

莫名其妙 mòmíng-qímiào v. (set phrase) to feel puzzled.

老美 lǎoměi n. (Slang) The Yankees.

混熟 hùnshú v. to have become acquainted [with people as the result of having lived and worked closely with them].

佩服 pèifú v. admire; adore.

尤其 yóuqí adv. especially.

吃苦精神 chīkǔ jīngshén n. the spiritual quality which enables a person to endure severe hardship

聪明能干 cōngmíng-nénggàn

adj. intelligent and capable.

赞叹不已 zhàntàn-bùyǐ v. to praise non-stop.

Syntax: 赞叹 <不已>

生活习惯 shēnghuó-xíguàn

n. habits in everyday life.

不可思议 bùkě-sīyì adj. incredible.

难以理解 nányǐ-lǐjiě adj. hard to understand.

　　许多和咱华人共过事的老美们，对咱喝茶的功夫都印象深刻。他们说，你们在办公室的喝茶习惯是一杯茶喝一天，而且是一边喝一边加水，从不间断，喝完了加，加满了接着喝，一直喝到没有了茶味，也不换新茶。我们有些人虽然也喜欢喝茶，但更喜欢喝咖啡。一杯咖啡下肚，能管多半天。一天之内，即便喝几杯，也只需要几分钟，绝不像你们那样一喝就是一天。

　　办理一件事情时，不是一开始就紧锣密鼓、紧凑有效，而是不紧不慢、松松垮垮，等到实在不能按期完成了，才着急地加班加点。尽管完成了既定任务，有时却难免粗枝大叶。而老美干事儿历来讲究雷厉风行、快马加鞭。即便是时间非常充裕也坚持先紧后松，以便精益求精。这一点还值得咱们学习。
