Project One: Design a Product
1. Every team will receive a blanked-out product.
2. In your teams, start brain-storming the following:
a. Choose a brand name for your product – be cre-ative.
b. Design a logo for your product.
c. Create a slogan for your product.
Tomorrow we have to design our prod-ucts and make an advertising poster
for it.Think about it

How to Play:1. Draw a playing card from the
stack.2. Red Team vs. Black Team.3. Each team gets a string of cups.4. In your teams decide who will go
first, second, third etc.5. Split the cups into 2 piles.6. Line up 8 cups for the bottom
and stack the remainder of the cups in a pyramid shape.
7. Take down your cups and leave in 2 stacks on the table for the next players.
8. Next player lines up 8 cups, stacks the remainder and takes it down.
9. The first team to complete the challenge are the winners!

What is a Commercial?
• A commercial is a short adver-tisement of a product or ser-vice that a company wishes to sell.• A commercial is usually only 10 to 60 seconds long.
What is anInfomercial?
• An information commercial, showing all the details of the product or service.
• An infomercial can be up to 30 or 60 minutes long.
• Most infomercials have a spokesperson explaining the product.
• You are about to see 10 videos.
• As you watch them, complete the questions on the handout.• I will play each video twice.

Project Two: Design a Commer-
cial
Step 1:Think of a
story for your commercial.
Step 2:Write a script with a begin-ning, middle
and end.
Step 3:Draw the char-acters for the
story.
Step 4:Add some dialogue.
Step 5:Make a story-board – put your story,
script, draw-ings and dia-
logue together.
Step 6:Sketch out
each scene in an individual
box adding the dialogue and comments.
Step 7:Rehearse the scenes with dialogue and
actions.
Step 8:Let’s film it!
Tomorrow we will film our commer-
cials. Please remember to bring any clothes or
props that you might need.

pencils.4. In your teams decide who will go
first, second, third etc.5. Player 1 picks up the 1st pencil,
puts it on the back of his/her hand, flips it into the hair and catch it.
6. Pick up the next pencil, put both on the back of the hand, flip and catch it..
7. Repeat with all the pencils.8. First team to finish are the winners!
