Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren, ich freue mich, dass ich bei der Auswertung des Jahres 2012 im Hinblick auf den Tourismusbereich und die Aktivitten von CzechTourism viel Positives zu berichten

habe. Wir sind beispielsweise stolz darauf, dass der Incoming-Tourismus an die guten Ergebnisse vom Vorjahr anknpfen konnte. Im ersten Halbjahr dieses Jahres sind um 7 Prozent mehr Touristen aus dem Ausland in die Tschechische Republik gereist als im gleichen Zeitraum des Jahres 2011. Die Situation im Inlandstourismus weist ebenfalls eine positive Entwicklung auf und auch der Konferenztourismus verzeichnete trotz der Befrchtungen einer Rckkehr oder Vertiefung der Wirtschaftskrise einen deutlichen Aufschwung. Im Gegensatz zum vergangenen Jahr stieg die Zahl der Veranstaltungen in der ersten Hlfte des Jahres 2012 um 11 Prozent an. Die Einnahmen der Tschechischen Republik aus dem Bereich internationaler Tourismus betrugen in der ersten Jahreshlfte von 2012 insgesamt 68,4 Milliarden Kronen, das sind um 12,7 Prozent mehr als im gleichen Vorjahreszeitraum. Die Agentur CzechTourism hat nach zehn Jahren das Design der Destinationsmarke Tschechiens gendert. Zu Jahresbeginn wurden das neue touristische Logo sowie der visuelle Stil vorgestellt, der die Tschechische Republik in den nchsten Jahren reprsentieren wird. Mit der neuen Tourismusmarke hngt auch das neue Konzept der Agentur zusammen. Wir bewerben Tschechien als ein Land, in dem eine unendliche Zahl an Geschichten entdeckt und erlebt werden kann, am besten Geschichten mit Fortsetzung, indem man immer wieder hierher zurckkehrt. Ein Pilotprojekt stellt unsere diesjhrige Kampagne dar: Tschechien der Ort fr Ihre Geschichte. Die neuesten Trends weisen nmlich darauf hin, dass Tschechien das Potenzial dazu hat, im Bereich Bildungstourismus zur Nummer Eins in Mitteleuropa aufzusteigen, und das ist unser Ziel. Dieses Jahr feierte die Tschechische Republik das 20. Jubilum der Aufnahme der ersten Denkmler in die renommierte Welterbeliste der UNESCO. Daher bildeten die 12 tschechischen UNESCO-Denkmler das Schwerpunktthema der Zentralkampagne, die in 7 Lndern lief, die weiteren Themen der Werbekampagne lauteten Wellness und Aktivurlaub. Die Werbung fr die Tschechische Republik und die erfreulichen Ergebnisse wren nicht mglich ohne hochwertige Hotels und Dienstleistungen. Ich freue mich, dass Sie dank einer weiteren Ausgabe des Travel Guide nun einen berblick ber das breite und bunte Angebot an Hotels, Gasthusern, Kongressrumen und Heilbdern vor sich haben, die in der Tschechischen Republik zur Verfgung stehen. Ladies and gentleman,I am delighted that I am able to present many positive facts and gures based on the evaluation of the 2012 from both the perspective of tourism and

CzechTourisms role in the industry. We are really pleased that the incoming tourism has picked up on the favourable trends of last year. The number of incoming visitors to the Czech Republic in the rst half of 2012 has increased by 7% in comparison to the same period of 2011. Similarly domestic tourism has kept showing really positive development and there has been a considerable revival in the area of MICE tourism despite the continuing concerns about the potential comeback or deepening of the economic crisis. In comparison to 2011 the number of events in the rst half of 2012 has increased by 11%. Czech Republics revenue from the international tourism has reached a total gure of 68,4 milliard CZK in the rst six month of 2012 which represents a 12,7 increase as opposed to the same period of the last year. CzechTourism has after 10 years changed the destination brand of the country. At the beginning of the summer we introduced the new tourism logo and visual style which will be representing the Czech Republic in the years to come. The brand comes with a new concept of promoting the destination which is currently being implemented by CzechTourism. We have been promoting the Czech Republic as a place where visitors can discover and experience an unlimited amount of various stories, ideally continuous ones which require repeated visits. This years campaign of CzechTourism has been a pilot project for this: Czech Republic the place for your own story. The latest trends show that the Czech Republic has a real potential to become No. 1 destination for sightseeing tourism in Central Europe which is also our goal.This year the Czech Republic has also celebrated 20 years from its rst sights being included in the prestigious UNESCO World Heritage List. That is the reason why the topic of the main promotional campaign which has covered seven countries, was the 12 Czech UNESCO sights. The campaign also focused on spa and wellness and active holiday. The promotion of the Czech Republic and the good results it brings would not be possible without a good quality accommodation and services. I am very happy that thanks to the next edition of Travel Guide you have an overview of the wide offering of hotels, restaurants, congress and spa facilities which the Czech Republic provides. I strongly believe that this publication will be a great guide for travels around the Czech Republic to all the visitors. Almost all the rivers in Bohemia drain into the Labe (Elbe) River and then into the North Sea, in Moravian Silesia and northern Moravia partly by the Odra River to the Baltic Sea and in the remaining part of Moravia, the Morava and Du-naj (Danube) Rivers drain into the Black Sea.

LAKESSplendid natural lakes of glacial origin are found in the Bohemian Forest (esk les) in southern Bohemia.
