Far, far away there is an old farm. On this old farm there is a duck family.

One day Mother Duck is sitting on her eggs. And look! The eggs are hatching. Six noisy ducklings with yellow feathers are coming out of the eggs. But there is one more. It is a strange looking duckling with grey feathers.

The ducklings grow quickly. But look! The grey duckling is sad. His brothers are not playing with him. They are only teasing him because he is different. He is not pretty and he is clumsy.

“Why am I different from my brothers?” the poor little duckling is crying. “Why are they teasing me? Nobody loves me!”

The ugly duckling is lonely. Oh no! He is running away from the farm. And look! He is asking the birds and geese, “Do you know anyone with grey feathers like mine?”’We don’t know anyone as ugly as you.” They are laughing. The poor little duckling is more and more unhappy.

But then, one fine spring morning the ugly duckling is standing by a pond. He is looking at his reflection in the water. “Is this really me? But I am not ugly at all. I’m big now and I have got beautiful feathers.”

A big swan is standing nearby. “Of course it is you. You are a beautiful swan,” he is saying. So the ugly duckling, oopsss… the beautiful young swan is happy and proud. And look! He is smiling happily.

Cinderella is a beautiful girl. She has got a mean stepmother and two ugly and evil sisters. Cinderella is in the kitchen from morning till evening. Her sisters are lazy but their dresses are new and lovely.

One day there is a big ball at the castle. And in that castle there is a handsome prince and his parents, the king and the queen. The ugly sisters go to the ball. But Cinderella can’t go to the ball because she has got only one old dress. So she is in the kitchen as usual. She is crying.

Suddenly, there is her fairy godmother in front of her. She is a nice old lady and she has got a magic wand. “Abracadabra short and tall, you too can now go to the ball!” And look! Cinderella is wearing a beautiful pink dress and glass slippers. She is excited because she can go to the ball, too. There is even a golden carriage in front of the house. “But remember, you must come back home at midnight!”, the fairy says.
