Shi-Ming Lin studied medicine at National Taiwan University and graduated in 1982, Following this, he completed a clinical resident training in Veteran General Hospital Taipei and GI fellowship in Chang-Gung Memorial Hospital-Taipei and Linkuo. Dr. Lin is currently a Professor since 2007 and a deputy chairman at the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Chang Gung University since 2014.

Dr. Lin is one of the pioneers of RFA for liver tumors in Taiwan. Dr. Lin has published 112 papers in

international and domestic scientific journals including Gastroenterolgy, Hepatology, Gut, Journal of Hepatology, Cancer, and British Journal of Surgery. 趙毅 Dr Yee ChaoCancer Centre Veterans General Hospital, Taipei, Taiwan.

Dr Yee Chao is Chief of Environmental Health and Safety office and visiting staff at the Department of Oncology of Veterans General Hospital in Taipei, Taiwan. He also holds the academic position, Professor of Medicine at National Yang-Ming University, Taiwan. Previously, Dr Chao has held several academic positions concurrently with his clinical roles, including Lecturer and Associate Professor in Medicine at National Yang-Ming University.

Dr Chao received his Bachelor of medical science from Kaohsiung Medical College and went on to do his Ph.D. at the Institute of Clinical Medicine of National Yang-Ming University. He went on to do his Residency in internal medicine at Veterans General Hospital, before becoming Chief Resident and Attending Physician at the Division of Gastroenterology. Dr Chao is board certified in internal medicine, gastroenterology and medical oncology.

Dr Chao’s academic research interests include the mode of action of anti-cancer therapies, specifically the molecular mechanism of tumour drug resistance. He has received numerous awards for his academic and clinical endeavours, including Clinical Teaching Merit Citation from Veterans General Hospital. He has authored and co-authored over 160 scientific manuscripts published in peer-review journals. Dr Chao is also member of several medical societies including American Society of Clinical Oncology, Society of

Internal Medicine, Formosa Medical Association and Taiwan Gastroenterological Society.

陳培哲 Prof.Pei-Jer ChenBrief IntroductionProfessor Chen was appointed Director of the Hepatitis Research Center at the National Taiwan University Hospital in Taipei in 2001-2003, and now the faculty for Graduate Institute of Clinical Medicine, National Taiwan University. His research interests focus on the molecular virology of hepatitis viruses, and the genetic and genomic study of hepatocellular carcinoma. Professor Chen’s clinical research covers the natural history of chronic viral hepatitis and hepatocellular carcinoma, and also explores and conducts new therapies and trials for both diseases. He was the President of Taiwan Association for Study of the Liver (TASL) from 2012 to 2013.

From 2001 to 2006, he was a member of the editorial board of the journal Hepatology and reappointed since year 2010-2011. In 2000, Professor Chen was awarded the International Research Scholar in Infectious Diseases by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute for a period of five years. He has been elected into Academia Sinica in year 2006, and into TAWS member in year 2011. He has published over 600 articles in the areas of hepatitis and hepatocellular carcinoma.
