1園長的話Words from the Director

99年是個豐收年，將近47項大事記紀錄了

我們走過的痕跡，就像大象一樣昂首闊步，已

留下了美好的足跡。其中我們代表市政府參加

行政院第三屆政府服務品質獎獲得最高殊榮；

當時來評鑑我們的評審，均表示以我們動物園

的經營管理與服務品質，應該放眼亞太與全球

來做競賽；這些的肯定與好評，對我們來講應

是更嚴格的挑戰與激勵。面對時代的考驗與全

球的競爭，確實不能稍有懈待之心，一定要全

力以赴，追求精進再精進；我們沒有鬆懈的權

利，唯有不斷的超越自我追求卓越，才能讓我

們動物園取得世界級領先的地位。

我們的主軸定位是「體驗、探索、感動、啟

發」。「體驗」不是走馬看花，是互動式的體

驗；「探索」不是胡亂摸索，而是有主題式的探

索；「感動」是能夠打動人心的感動，且能化心

動為行動的感動；「啟發」不是隨便的出發，而

是經消化後的啟發。我們的推廣教育，均在主

軸定位下發展，就顯現得更為不同。現在的活

動只要經過網路的報名，就形成大家秒殺完成

報名，主要的原因是我們主軸定位非常明確，

已廣受大家的肯定與歡迎。另外我們有很多的

行銷作法，如我們透過臺北電臺製播的「臺北

動物起床號」，「動物園保育網」、「Facebook

粉絲團」，還有舉辦各項特展、保育教育出版

品、保育專家的專題研究…等，皆有豐碩的成

果。其中，我們的出版品《野性再現》及《來了

便知道》獲得第二屆國家出版品獎的佳作及入

選獎，這些獲獎及成果絕對不是一個人可以完

成的，是靠團隊的合作，也發揮風雨同舟共濟

的精神，才能創造令人稱羨的佳績。

動物園的核心價值就是「尊重生命，關懷自

然」，在全球面臨地球暖化與環境惡化的嚴重

課題當中，益發顯現自然生態保育的重要性，

身為保育尖兵的我們更應責無旁貸扛起「維護

地球、愛護動物」這項神聖的使命。藉由年報

的出刊，讓我們肩併肩、手牽手，一起為保育

加油吧！

2010 was a year of harvest with 47 major

events, beautiful traces left as we stride proudly

ahead like an elephant. We represented Taipei

City Government in the Executive Yuan’s 3rd

Government Serv ice Qual i ty Awards and

received the highest honor; the judges that

came to evaluate us all thought that with the

operation management and service quality that

we displayed, we should aim for Asia-Pacific and

even global competitions. This recognition should

encourage us to face even stricter challenges.

Indeed, there is no room for negl igence

when facing challenges of this era and global

competition; we must devote every effort to the

pursuit of excellence. Relaxation is a right that

we are not entitled to. We must continuously

surpasses ourselves and pursue excellence in

order to gain a leading position in the world.

Our theme is “Experience, Explorat ion,

Affection and Inspiration”, al l with implied

meanings beyond the surface: “experience”

through interaction; “explore” through discovery;

“affecting” through involvement, and “inspire”

through insight. Our extension education is

distinguishing because it was developed under

our theme. Now, guests can sign up for all of

our activities online, and whenever an activity

is open for registration, it is instantly fi l led

thanks to our clear theme and great popularity.

Furthermore, we have adopted diverse marketing

methods, such as the radio program “Wake-up

Call from Taipei Animals,” “Taipei Zoo website,”

“Facebook fan page,” various special exhibitions,

publications, and special topic studies. In which

our publications “Back to the Wild – Taiwan’s

Protected Animals and Ex-Situ Conservation

Actions” and “Zoo Poo Poo–All about Feces”

received the award of eminence and honorable

mention in the 2nd National Publication Award;

these awards and results were not the work of

one man, but team cooperation. It was only by

pulling together were we were able to make such

extraordinary accomplishments.

The core value of Taipei Zoo is “Respect Life,

Care for Nature.” Severe issues such as global

warming and environment deterioration have

showed the importance of wildlife and nature

conservation; as the point of conservation, it is

our responsibility and sacred mission to “protect

earth, love animals.” As we publish this year’s

annual report, let us go shoulder to shoulder,

hand in hand and jointly endeavor for nature

conservation!

服務現況

本園園區總面積165公頃，已開發使用區域

近百公頃，其餘仍保留為自然次生林地。開放

公眾參觀展示範圍有7館（教育中心、夜行性動

物館、企鵝館、無尾熊館、兩棲爬蟲動物館、

昆蟲館和大貓熊館【特展館】）、8區（臺灣動

物區、兒童動物區、亞洲熱帶雨林區、沙漠動

物區、澳洲動物區、非洲動物區、溫帶動物區

和鳥園）。

本（99）年遊客量達280萬人次。園區現有圈

養野生動物計有401種、總數約2,614隻（不含

昆蟲）。

臺北市立動物園建園迄今96年，期間於民國

75年10月遷至文山區（木柵）現址，新園之設

立兼具教育、研究、保育及遊憩四大功能，為

全世界頗受肯定的優質都會型動物園之一。組

織編制原有四組六室，近年因應業務發展，另

以任務編組成立「保育研究中心」及其他如：

Established 96 years ago, the Taipei Zoo

was relocated to the current Wenshan District

(Muzha) site in October 1986. The new Zoo

boasts four major functions: education, research,

conservation and recreation. We are regarded

as one of the finest metro-type zoos around the

world. In addition to the original four divisions

and six offices, the “Conservation and Research

Center” and others including the Research and

Evaluation Office, Information Division, Animal

Adoption Division and the Engineering Team were

added to meet new business developmental

challenges. We have 2 employees dedicated to

labor safety in the Electricity Division since 2007.

Our personnel quota is 330, but our current

personnel is 316, including 76 staff members,

196 workers, 13 contract employees, and 31

security guards.

The Taipei Zoo covers a totals area of 165

hectares. Nearly 100 hectares have been

developed and util ized, with the remaining

preserved as natural secondary forests. There

are 7 indoor display areas (Educational Center,

Nocturnal Animal House, Penguin House,

Koala House, Amphibian and Reptile House,

Insectarium, and the Panda House “Special

Exhibit House”) and 8 outdoor display areas

(Formosan Animal Area, Children's Zoo, Asian

Tropical Rainforest Area, Desert Animal Area,

Australian Animal Area, African Animal Area,

Temperate Zone Animal Area, and Bird World).

The number of visitors to the Zoo this year

(2010) was 2.8 mil l ion. The Zoo currently

houses 401 species of animal numbering 2,614

(excluding insects).

（一）動物飼養展示與繁殖

園區飼養展示之動物以脊椎動物為主，共

約401種、2,614隻。本年度內保育繁殖計畫

成果，累計達42種、115隻動物個體，繁殖青

鸞、大寶冠鳥、白鳳頭鸚鵡、水獺、侏儒河馬、

馬來貘、弓角羚羊、白頸狐猴、環尾狐猴、阿氏

夜猴、穿山甲、人猿、馬來獼猴、臺灣長鬃山

侏儒河馬「小侏」，本園第一隻人工哺育成功的侏儒河馬。●9月15日出生，至12月12日止體重23.8kg●父「夏傑」、母「嬌秋」

「小侏」20天大時，由於媽媽的乳房發炎吸不到奶，動物保母只好想辦法將「小侏」和媽媽隔開進行人工哺育，營養師特別調製不同於一般草食動物，蛋白質濃度更高的代乳配方。「小侏」也很適應動物園調配的代乳，動物管理員在代替媽媽餵養10天後，媽媽的乳房也恢復健康，管理員也將「小侏」還給媽媽。

羊、二趾樹獺、大紅鶴、鴯苗鳥、國王企鵝、黑腳

企鵝、長頸鹿、長鼻浣熊等珍貴動物。

另外，對於動物醫療健康照護技術持續精

進，許多照養動物個體均已超過其野外生命年

限，對該等老齡動物加強觀察照護，並針對動

物老齡需求進行場地空間與日糧供給的調整。

(I) Animal Exhibition and BreedingThe Taipei Zoo mainly displays vertebrate

animals with roughly 401 species represented

totaling 2,614 in number. The number of animals

bred under the Conservayion Breeding Program

accumulated to 115 animals of 42 species in

2010, including Great Argus (Argusianus argus ),

Great Curassow (Crax rubra ), White Cockatoo

(Cacatua alba ), Chinese Otter (Lutra lutra

chinensis ), Pygmy Hippopotamus (Hexaprotodon

liberiensis ), Malayan Tapir (Tapirus indicus ), Addax

(Addax nasomaculatus ), Ruffed Lemur (Varecia

variegata ), Ring-tailed Lemur (Lemur catta ),

Azara’s Night Monkey (Aotus azarae ), Formosan

Pangolin (Manis pentadactyla pentadactyla ),

Bornean Orangutan (Pongo pygmaeus ), Crab-

eating Macaque (Macaca fascicularis ), Formosan

Serow (Capricornis swinhoei ), Linnaeus’s Two-

toed Sloth (Choloepus didactylus ), Greater

Flamingo (Phoenicopterus ruber ), Emu (Dromaius

novaehollandiae ), King Penguin (Aptenodytes

patagonicus ), Jackass Penguin (Spheniscus

demersus ), Giraffe (Giraffa camelopardalis ) and

South American Coati (Nasua nasua ).

Furthermore, many animals in our care have

lived past their life expectancy in the wild, and we

are stepping up observation and care for such

elderly animals, as well as adjusting space and

daily provisions according to their needs.



鷹送至本園救治，術後經過長達半年的照顧治

療，在渡過最危險的階段後，由臺北縣政府及

特有生物保育研究中心接手熊鷹的野放訓練，

於99年1月25日在農委會林務局局長顏仁德、

臺北縣縣長周錫瑋、特有生物中心主任湯曉虞

及本園園長葉傑生等一同見證下，重回大自然

的懷抱，為臺灣最大型鷹鷲的保育史留下重要

的一頁。

（三）保育類野生動物收容

本園野生動物收容中心專責收容保育主管機

關查獲之走私與違法獵捕、販售與展示的保育

類野生動物。本年度共計支援查緝38人次，

其中協助處理查緝收容種類共18種、88隻。

並持續協助各縣市政府相關單位所委託處理之

野生動物救傷，與持續照養歷年所委託收容之

各類動物，包含熊科動物、大型貓科動物、

鳥類（鸚鵡）、靈長類動物、兩棲爬蟲動物，計

110種、1,004隻；並協助林務局辦理經濟部

國貿局CITES列管物種出口繁殖能力查驗，共

20個繁殖場；另提供收容動物專業技術研習

與教育觀摩活動等解說導覽服務，導覽參觀計

27個團體，共1,200人次，該申請團體多為國

（二）動物醫療保健及防疫

在動物醫療保健方面，除執行日常突發性之

外傷及內科疾病治療外，且依計畫進行動物的

健康檢查及檢測等工作；並協助處理中央農政

單位查緝並沒入之保育類動物、國內民眾贈入

及園際間交換的動物檢疫工作，計50隻；另

救傷動物108隻，協助地方政府照顧收容穿山

甲、水鹿、山羌、鼬獾和臺灣藍鵲等動物，以

及多次協助臺北市鳥會、桃園縣政府治療救傷

之鳥類及其他哺乳動物。

臺大醫院公館分院贈送之電腦斷層掃描儀，

於98年11月20日移入本園，提升動物福利

與醫療照護的品質。已運用於本園無尾

熊淋巴肉瘤之診斷、臺灣獼猴頸部

脊椎異常判定、美洲豹之腹部腫

瘤、黑豹之子宮蓄膿症、黃鼠狼

之腎上腺腫瘤、雲豹之副甲狀

腺腫瘤等診斷處理。

(II) Animal Health Care and Epidemic Prevention

In addition to the treatment of accidental

external wounds and i l lnesses, as well as

scheduled animal health inspect ions, we

also treat illegal possessed animals that were

confiscated by the central agricultural authority,

those given to the Zoo by the general public, or

from inter-zoo exchanges; which accumulated

to 50 animals in total. Furthermore, we rescued

108 injured animals, provided aid to local

governments with caring for animals in their

custody, including Formosan Pangolin, Formosan

Sambar (Rusa unicolor swinhoii ), Formosan

Reeve’s Muntjac (Muntiacus reevesi micrurus ),

Formosan Ferret-badger (Melogale moschata

subaurantiaca ) and Formosan Magpie (Urocissa

caerulea ), and on numerous occasions assisted

the Wild Bird Society of Taipei and Taoyuan

County Government with treating injured birds

and other mammals.

The CT scanner donated by National Taiwan

Un ivers i ty Hosp i ta l – Gongguan Branch

was moved into Taipei Zoo on November

20th, 2009 and enhance animal welfare and

medical care quality. It has been used for

diagnosing lymphosarcoma in one of our Koalas

(Phascolarctos cinereus ), abnormal cervical

spine of a Formosan Rock Macaque (Macaca

cyclopis ), abdominal tumor of a Jaguar (Panthera

onca ), pyometra syndrome in a black Leopard

(Panthera pardus ), adrenal tumor in a Siberian

Weasel (Mustela sibirica ), and prathyroid tumor in

a Clouded Leopard (Neofelis nebulosa ).

■Injured mountain hawk-eagle rescue

results

A mountain patrol found a Mountain Hawk-

eagle (Spizaetus nipalensis ) that was shot by

a crossbow in the chest in the mountain area

of Wulai Township, Taipei County in 2008, and

sent the Mountain Hawk-eagle to Taipei Zoo for

treatment. The Mountain Hawk-eagle was able to

pull through the most dangerous stage after six

months of care and treatment after surgery, and

was taken over by Taipei County Government

and the Endemic Species Research Institute for

training so it could be released into the wild. On

January 25th, 2010, the Mountain Hawk-eagle’s

release into the wild was witnessed by Director

Yen Jen-Te of the Forestry Bureau, Council of

Agriculture, Executive Yuan, Magistrate Chou

His-Wei of Taipei County, Director Shang Hsiao-

Yu of the Endemic Species Research Institute,

and Director Jason Yeh of Taipei Zoo; this was

an important page in the conservation history of

Taiwan’s largest raptor.

(III) Care for Protected Wild AnimalsThe Zoo’s Wildlife Rescue Center is dedicated

to taking in wild animals under conservation

confiscated by conservation authorities due to

smuggling, illegal hunting, selling and displaying.

In 2010, we helped investigate 38 people,

assisted with the handling of 88 animals of 18

species seized from the investigations and took

them in. We continue to assist with wild animal

rescues commissioned by county and municipal

government agencies, and will keep on taking-

in and adopting the many animals entrusted by

authorities over the years, including bears, big

cats, birds (parrots), primates, amphibians and

reptiles, amounting to 1,004 animals representing

110 species. We assisted the Forestry Bureau

with inspecting 20 breeding farms of animals

controlled by CITES. Furthermore, we provide

guided tour services for animal expert ise

workshops and educational activities; 27 groups

with a total of 1,200 people went on these tours,

most of which were teachers and students in

biology related departments, from the Animal

Protection Office, forest police force, Mainland

wildlife trade and visit groups, and Taiwan Mobile.

We sent personnel to Taipei City Fire Department

3 times to give the lecture on “wild animal

conservation and restraint,” and provided aid to

Taipei City Animal Protection Office with holding

3 seminars on wild animal management and

內生物相關科系師生、動物保護處、森林警察

隊、大陸野生物貿易參訪團、台灣大哥大等單

位。另派員至臺北市消防局講習「野生動物保

育及野生動物之保定」，共3梯次，也協助臺

北市動物保護處辦理野生動物管理研討會以及

動物保護先鋒營營隊之教學研習共3梯次。保

育工作成果亦受媒體矚目而予進行專題報導，

如：聯合報報導，透過臺北市立動物園保育研

究中心與長榮航空之連繫，促成香港瀕危廟龜

赴美重生、臺北廣播電臺「臺北動物起床號」

節目專訪緬甸星龜的保育及收容動物的飼養。

為多元推廣生態保育觀念，本園亦協助媒體節

目製作，如：公視下課花路米專題節目、年代

新聞採訪等。

本園人員至嘉義進行「馬來長吻鱷」移出保定

「馬來長吻鱷」到達本園亞洲熱帶雨林區

the Animal Protection Pioneer Camp. Results of

our conservation work attracted the attention of

media, who turned them into special reports, e.g.

the news report of United Daily News on how

Taipei Zoo Conservation and Research Center

contacted Eva Air and helped send Yellow-

Headed Temple Turtle (Heosemys annandalii )

to the U.S., and the radio program “Wake-up

Call from Taipei Animals” of Taipei Broadcasting

Station gave a special report on the conservation

and shelter of Burmese Star Tortoise (Geochelone

platynota ). In order to promote ecological

conservation concepts, we also assisted media

with program production, e.g.: Public Television

Service’s “Follow Me Go!” and interview of Era

Communication Co.

(IV) Introduction and Exchange of Animals

For purposes of renewing animal bloodlines

and to enrich the efficacy of educational exhibits,

the Taipei Zoo has engaged in exchanges of

animals, breeding programs, and gift-giving with

other foreign and domestic zoos, and private

breeders. The total number of animals introduced

includes 5 birds of 3 species, 25 mammals

of 11 species, 4 reptiles of 3 species, and 17

amphibians of 3 species. We are also negotiating

with the Tama Zoo, the zoo of Okinawa Kids

Discovery Kingdom, Ueno Zoo and Moscow Zoo.

Major results are as follows:

◎Exchange with Shin Kong Chao Feng

Ranch & Resort: Received 1 female Raccoon

(Procyon lotor ) and 1 female Grey Crowned-

crane (Balearica regulorum ) in exchange for 1

male Grey Crowned-crane.

◎Exchange with Kaohsiung Shou Shan Zoo:

Received 1 female Lama (Lama glama ) in

exchange for 1 male Lar Gibbon (Hylobates lar )

, 1 male Formosan Serow, 1 female Formosan

Reeve’s Muntjac, 3 male Burchell’s Zebras

(Equus burchellii ), 2 female Common Elands

(Taurotragus oryx ), and 3 male Barbary Sheep

(Ammotragus lervia ).

◎Exchange with Seoul Zoo: Received 1 male

Leopard.

◎Gifts to Tama Zoo: Gave 1 male Black-faced

Spoonbill (Platalea minor ).

◎Gifts to National Pingtung University

of Science and Technology Innovation

and Practical Training Center: Gave 1

contracepted Stump-tailed Macaque (Macaca

arctoides ), and 1 male Lar Gibbon.

◎Gifts from Endemic Species Research

Institute: Received 1 female Formosan Giant

Flying Squirrel (Petaurista philippensis grandis ),

3 female Formosan Reeve’s Muntjac, and 1

female Boa Constrictor (Boa constrictor ).

◎Gifts from Taoyuan County Government:

Received 1 female Formosan Ferret-badger.

◎Gifts from Taipei County Government Animal

Rescue Center: Received 1 female Formosan

Sambar.

◎Gifts to Hsinchu Zoo: Gave 6 Sacred Ibis

(Threskiornis aethiopicus ) and 6 Scarlet Ibis

(Eudocimus ruber ).

◎Gifts f rom Jhuci Township Long Qun

Crocodile Farm: Received 1 male and 1

female Tomistoma (Tomistoma schlegelii ).

◎Animal procurement: Procured 3 female Blue-

and-Yellow Macaw (Ara ararauna ), 1 male

Eclectus Parrot (Eclectus roratus ), 2 pairs of

Lion Head Rabbits, 2 pairs of American Fuzzy

Lop Rabbits, 2 pairs of Netherland Dwarf

Rabbits, 2 pairs of Dutch Rabbits, 1 Northern

Caiman Lizard (Dracaena guianensis ), 5

Ornate Horned Frogs (Ceratophrys ornata ),

2 Budgett’s Frogs (Lepidobatrachus laevis ),

and 10 Oriental Fire-bellied Toad (Bombina

orientalis ).

（四）動物引進及交換

為更新動物血緣與增加教育展示效益，陸續

與國內外動物園或民間飼養者進行動物繁殖合

作、交換或互贈，計引進鳥類3種5隻、哺乳

類11種25隻、爬蟲類3種4隻、兩棲類3種17

隻，並續與日本多摩動物園、日本琉球動物

園、日本上野動物園及俄羅斯莫斯科動物園等

洽談中。重要成果如下：

◎新光兆豐休閒農場交換案：換入北美浣熊1

雌、灰頸冠鶴1雌，換出灰頸冠鶴1雄。

◎高雄壽山動物園交換案：換入駱馬1雌，換

出白手長臂猿1雄、臺灣長鬃山羊1雄、山

羌1雌、查普曼斑馬3雄、伊蘭羚羊2雌、北

美髯羊3雄。

◎韓國首爾動物園交換案：換入花豹1雄。

◎日本多摩動物園受贈案：贈出黑面琵鷺1雄。

◎屏東科技大學保育類野生動物收容中心受贈

案：贈出截尾猴（胭脂猴）1節育、白手長臂

猿1雄。

◎南投集集特生中心贈與案：贈入大赤鼯鼠1

雌、山羌3雌、紅尾蚺1雌。

◎桃園縣政府贈與案：贈入鼬 1雌。

◎臺北縣政府動物救傷中心贈與案：贈入水鹿

1雌。

◎新竹市立動物園受贈案：贈出聖 6隻、紅

6隻。

◎嘉義縣竹崎鄉龍群鱷魚養殖場贈與案：贈入

馬來長吻鱷1雄1雌。

◎動物採購案：購入黃腹琉璃金剛鸚鵡3雌、

折衷鸚鵡1雄、獅子兔2對、垂耳兔2對、侏

儒兔2對、道奇兔2對、祕魯鱷蜥1隻、飾紋

（五）與學術界建教合作及推廣教育

續與臺灣大學獸醫學院在動物診療技術方

面，保持密切建教合作關係，助益本園對動

物死亡的病因，建立完整檔案，供作本園動物

疾病預防及醫療參考，並作為獸醫系所學生實

習及教學研究之用。本年度計提供96次、共

1,152人次臺大學生進行病理實習。

另與其他相關機構建教合作及教育推廣，或

提供國內獸醫師及國內外獸醫系大學生前來

實習，包括：4-5月協助臺大獸醫學院辦理人

畜共通傳染病課程兩梯次共50人次及野生動

物疾病學課程共2次40人次來園授課與參訪；

5月國內各大學獸醫學系實習生共35人實習，

提供學生野生動物醫療觀摩學習；5月馬來西

亞獸醫大學實習生3位實習野生動物診療共14

日； 7-8月國內各大學獸醫學、生物相關、觀

光遊憩管理等科系實習生及國際候鳥計畫共

60人進行為期1-2個月實習，提供學生野生動

物醫療、生物學、生態學等觀摩學習，其中候

鳥計畫實習學生實習成果發表獲社會科學組第

三名；8月花蓮海洋公園獸醫師3位實習臨床

診療工作共4天；12月澳洲昆士蘭大學學生1

位前來實習。

協助各單位辦理之演講及課程有：7月農委

會防疫檢疫局「動物保定及吹箭製作」研習共

2梯次、民航局專題演講「靈長類疾病」、臺大

獸醫營隊來園舉辦活動、動物保護處研習課程

3梯次等。

（六）動物認養計畫推動

動物認養計畫自92年2月推出，提供公眾接

近野生動物、獲取保育資訊、支持保育工作的

機會，並結合民間力量致力動物保育，有效地

協助本園推動各項保育教育及提升動物福利。

年度內民眾個人認養計534人（動物褓姆 353

人、動物寶貝181人）、企業認養6家。年度

內接受申請動物認養計畫並經核定者共計19

案。

國際合作與交流本年度國際合作與交流推展重點：因應引進

大貓熊後之飼育及繁殖，培訓本園飼養大貓熊

之繁殖實務技能，並積極參與大貓熊相關之國

際性會議；持續參與緬甸星龜國際保育繁殖工

作；辦理相關專業研討會，進行國際專業交

流。

99年5月28日本園與四川臥龍保護大熊貓研

究中心共同簽署「2010年大貓熊團團圓圓飼

育繁殖合作備忘錄」，由市長郝龍斌及四川

省書記劉奇葆親臨見證。透過合作備忘錄之簽

署，確認雙方進一步開展大貓熊「團團」、「圓

圓」繁殖技術交流，建立長期研究合作關係，

為該中心對本園大貓熊飼育繁殖技術支援之明

確承諾，為重要之合作里程碑。

(V) Cooperation with Academia to Promote Animal Education

Taipei Zoo continues to work closely with the

School of Veterinary Medicine of National Taiwan

University in animal clinical technique exchanges,

maintaining a good cooperative relationship with

academia to construct a complete database on

the cause of death of animals in our zoo, which

will be used internally as materials pertinent to

animal disease prevention and medical reference,

as well as for veterinary students and interns

to use for teaching and research purposes. In

2010, a total of 96 internship opportunities were

provided to 1,152 NTU students for training in

pathology.

Cooperat ive educat ion and educat ion

promotion with other institutions, or internship

opportunities for veterinarians or veterinary

students in Taiwan and overseas include: In

April-May, we assisted School of Veterinary

Medicine of National Taiwan University with

holding 2 courses on zoonotic diseases for 50

students and 2 courses on wildlife diseases for

40 students; In May, we offered 35 internship

opportunities to veterinary students, allowing

them to learn medical treatment for wild animals;

In May, 3 interns at the University of Veterinary

Medicine of Malaysia practiced wildlife treatment

for 14 days in Taipei Zoo; In July-August, a total

of 60 interns at veterinary, biology related and

tourism management departments of domestic

universities, as well as from the International

Migratory Bird Project engaged in a 1-2 month

internship, giving them the opportunity to

observe and learn wildlife medical treatment,

biology, and ecology, in which interns of the

International Migratory Bird Project received third

place in the social science division of the results

presentation; In August, 3 veterinarians of Hualien

Far Glory Ocean Park practiced clinical treatment

for 4 days; In December, 1 student came from

The University of Queensland, Australia for an

internship at Taipei Zoo.

Lectures and courses of other agencies that

we provided aid to include: 2 batches of the

workshop on “animal restraint and dart making”

of the Bureau of Animal and Plant Health

Inspection and Quarantine, Council of Agriculture

in July, the special topic lecture “primate

diseases” of the Civil Aeronautics Administration,

activities in Taipei Zoo of the NTU veterinary

camp, and 3 batches of workshops of the Animal

Protection Office.

(VI) Promotion of Animal Adoption Project

The Animal Adoption Project was first launched

in February 2003, intended on providing the

general public with opportunities to get closer to

wild animals, gain information about conservation,

and to move them into supporting conservation

tasks. In addition, the project also aimed to

combine private forces to dedicate more effort

in protecting animals, so as to effectively assist

the Taipei Zoo in implementing conservation

education and enhancing animal welfare.

The accumulated private-individual adopters

totaled 534 for the year (353 animal nannies

and 181 animal treasurers) and there were 6

corporate adopters. The number of applications

for animal adoption accepted and approved in

the year came to 19.

International Cooperation and Exchanges

Focuses of international cooperation and

exchanges this year include: Following the

introduction of the Giant Pandas, Taipei Zoo

directed efforts to the caring, feeding and

breeding as well as practical training of breeding

techniques of these animals, and actively

participated in Giant Panda related international

conferences. We continued to take part in the

international conservation and breeding of the

Burmese Star Tortoise. We also organized related

professional seminars for expert exchanges on

the global front too.

本園在國際事務交流方面，持續參與全球及

各區域的動物園相關組織，維繫與世界知名動

物園或機構的互動與友誼，暢通動物交換、研

究合作、人員訓練與技術交流的管道，鞏固本

園在動物專業上及動物外交上的國際地位。年

度內出席國際會議計11項28人次。

99年11月參加第18屆東南亞動物園暨水族

館協會年會（SEAZA），適逢新舊任主席交接

及理事空缺補選，本園以長久經營維繫的人

脈，多方運作爭取支持，穩固了臺灣在協會

中的地位，會中確認本園為臺灣地區之代表，

並具理事委員之投票權，葉園長代表本園當選

新任理事委員，並將擔任教育委員會主席。依

SEAZA未來五年重點工作行動方案所定之20

個重點保育物種，由各會員國家或動物園分別

負責其中一種動物之保育工作，會中本園提出

由本園負責亞洲黑熊之保育推動。

（二）觀摩與交流

繼大貓熊引進，本園臺灣長鬃山羊及梅花鹿

將於大陸山東威海市劉公島國家森林公園落地

生根，為兩岸動物交流之重大事務，除大陸派

員來本園學習飼養管理之外，年內3度派員赴山

東威海市考察與協助大陸做好飼養管理準備。

本年度內參與之觀摩與交流共4梯次7人次。

（三）辦理專業研討會

8月本園、臺北動物園保育教育基金會與澳

大利亞商工辦事處，假本園辦理「臺澳雙邊動

物研究交流研討會」，由澳洲國家研究院資深

研究員Dr. Rick Shine與墨爾本大學袋鼠基因

研究中心主任Dr. Jenny Graves蒞園演講與參

訪。

10月假本園特展館，與台北市動物園之友協

會等單位合辦「2010年海峽兩岸動物園經營管

理暨珍稀動物保育研討會」，本園派員進行6場

發表。

11月假本園國際會議廳以「新加坡動物園經

驗分享-教育、解說及行銷」為主題，邀請新加

坡動物園推廣組組長Ms. May Lok對新加坡動

物園、夜間動物園及裕朗鳥園經營成果經驗分

享及交流，計有全省動物園及水族館協會會員

等相關單位120多人參加。

11月派本園獸醫師3位赴馬來西亞麻六甲

動物園主辦「爬蟲動物醫療研習會」並擔任講

師，另外香港海洋公園、馬來西亞太平動物園

及新加坡動物園獸醫亦一同協助課程進行；本

研習對東南亞國家及本園亞洲友好姐妹園發出

邀請，並以各國動物園、救傷中心及野生動物

香港海洋公園動物訓練研討會—觀摩海豚運輸箱

SEAZA年會

We signed the “2010 Giant Panda Tuan-Tuan

and Yuan-Yuan Caring and Breeding MOU”

with the China Conservation and Research

Center for the Giant Panda, Wolong National

Nature Reserve, Sichuan on May 28th, 2010,

and was witnessed by Mayor Hao Lung-Pin and

Sichuan Secretary Liu Chi-Pao. The MOU is a

commitment of the research center to provide

support in reproductive technology for the

giant pandas “Tuan-Tuan” and “Yuan-Yuan,”

and an important milestone for both parties in

establishing long-term research cooperation

relationship.

( I ) Part icipation in International Conferences

In terms of international affairs exchanges,

we continued to participate in zoo-related

organizations, both regionally and globally.

We kept up exchanges with famous zoos and

organizations worldwide, sustained smooth

channels on animal exchanges and research

cooperation, personnel training and technical

exchanges, so as to secure our international

status in animal know-how and animal diplomacy.

In 2010, 28 zoo staffs attended 11 international

conferences.

We attended the 18th annual conference of

the Southeast Asian Zoo Association (SEAZA)

in November 2010. It was in between new and

old chairmen and by-election of directors, but

we were able to secure Taiwan’s position in the

association utilizing our network to gain support

from other members. The conference recognized

Taipei Zoo as the representative of Taiwan,

and had voting rights as a board member;

Director Yeh of Taipei Zoo was elected board

member of SEAZA and appointed chairman of

the Educational Committee. Each state or zoo

was made responsible for one of the 20 key

protected species in the SEAZA’s action plan for

the next five years, in which Taipei Zoo was made

responsible for the conservation of Asian Black

Bears (Ursus thibetanus ).

(II) Observation Visits and ExchangesFollowing the introduction of Giant Pandas,

the exchange of Formosan Serow and Formosan

Sika (Cervus nippon taiouanus ) with Shandong

Weihai City’s Liugongdao National Forest Park

is a major cross-Strait animal exchange project.

Besides personnel being sent from the Mainland

side to learn caring and management of the

animals, this year we sent staff to Shandong

Weihai City 3 times to observe and help with

preparations. This year 7 staff were sent on

observation visits and exchanges in 4 batches.

(III) Organizing Professional SeminarsIn August, Taipei Zoological Foundation and

Australian Commerce and Industry Office (ACIO)

held the Australia-Taiwan Animal Research

Exchange. Senior research officer Dr. Rick Shine

of the Australian National Research Institute and

Dr. Jenny Graves, head of the ARC Centre for

Kangaroo Genomics, University of Melbourne

visited Taipei Zoo and gave speeches.

In October, we jointly held the “2010 Cross-

St ra i t Zoo Opera t ion and Rare An ima ls

Conservation Seminar” with the Association of

Friends of the Taipei Zoo in the Special Exhibit

House, in which our staff made 6 presentations.

In November, we invited Ms. May Lok, head of

the Education Division, Singapore Zoo to share

her experiences with managing Singapore Zoo,

Singarpore Night Safari and Jurong bird park in

the International Conference Room under the

theme “Singapore Zoo experience sharing –

Education, Explanation and Marketing”; a total

of 120 members from the Zoo and Aquarium

Association attended the conference.

In November, Taipei Zoo sent 3 veterinarians

to the “Reptile Medicine Seminar” organized

by Zoo Malacca, Malaysia to be lecturers. In

addition, veterinarians from Ocean Park Hong

Kong, Zoo Taiping, Malaysia and Singapore Zoo

also assisted with the courses. This seminar sent

invitations to Southeast Asian Countries and

sister zoos of Taipei Zoo in Asia, and targeted

及新型設備操作，除專業授課外也讓參與獸醫

直接操作動物，彼此討論病例及提出報告，以

提升東南亞動物園之動物醫療技術，改善其動

物醫療訓練與技術缺乏的現況。

（四）其他專業交流

◎香港海洋公園執行長等3人蒞園參訪，洽談

合作交流事宜。

◎澳門民政總署蒞園參訪，了解大貓熊飼養醫

療管理，嗣後，該署派獸醫等5位人員來園

學習大貓熊飼養管理及醫療檢疫技術。

◎日本釧路動物園園長蒞園洽訪，勘察本園丹

頂鶴預定展示處，商談贈送丹頂鶴事宜。

◎香港海洋公園獸醫助理1人來園實習小動物

診療技術，另該園推廣組Iding和Vivian來園

參訪教育解說展示等。

◎聖地牙哥動物園爬蟲館館長 Mr.Donal Boyer

及鳥園館長 Mr.David Rimlinger 來園拜訪，

進行專業技術交流與考察。

◎大陸山東威海市獸醫1位至本園學習臺灣長

鬃山羊與梅花鹿醫療與飼養管理。

◎法國人工繁殖專家Dr. Yann Locatelli來園進

行講座，並進行專業技術交流與考察。

◎捷克布拉格市副市長Kousalikova等一行3人

洽訪本園，並討論有關未來雙方動物交流與

締結姐妹園等相關事宜。

◎新疆維吾爾自治區四爪陸龜保育人員來臺，

進行四爪陸龜保育交流與觀摩。

◎為提升本園大貓熊飼養繁殖技術，本園續洽

請大陸相關專家來園指導，來園專家有中國

保護大貓熊研究中心周強助理工程師、張貴

權副主任、李德生副局長。

赴馬來西亞主辦「爬蟲動物醫療研習會」

Zoos in each country, Rescue Centers and wild

animal veterinarians; the seminar focused on

reptile medical technology, strengthening reptile

anesthesia, tests and new equipment operation.

In addition to professional courses, veterinarians

were allowed to directly come in contact with

animals, discuss cases and compile reports,

elevating the animal medical technology of

Southeast Asian Zoos, and improving the current

status of their animal medical training and lack of

technology.

(IV) Other Professional Exchanges◎A group of 3 led by the CEO of Ocean Park

Hong Kong visited Taipei Zoo to discuss

cooperation and exchanges.

◎The IACM of Macao SAR of the People’s

Republic of China visited Taipei Zoo to

understand how to care for and manage Giant

Pandas. Afterwards, it sent 5 personnel to

learn how to raise and manage Giant Panda,

as well as medical inspection and quarantine

technology.

◎The director of Kushiro City Zoo visited

Taipei Zoo to investigate the site prepared

for exhibiting Red-crowned Crane (Grus

japonensis ), and discuss matters associated

（一）主題特展

配合中國生肖年主題推出「『Just Love

Felids 就是愛飛力』―99虎年貓科動物特展」，

以及「『數位昆蟲童話世界』昆蟲數位典藏特

展」等，計展出13場次。

◎「Just Love Felids 就是愛飛力」―99虎年

貓科動物特展（展期：99年2月10日-12月31

日）

不論是威猛的老虎、獅子，或是家中可愛喵

喵叫的小貓咪，都是貓科（Felidae）動物—飛

力家族的一員。本（99）年是農曆生肖虎年，

本園推出「Just Love Felids 就是愛飛力―99

虎年貓科動物特展」，從貓科動物的分類、習

性到民間信仰都有詳盡的介紹。

這次特展與國際野生動物貿易研究組織合

作，運用解說文案、標本、模型、影片及互動

體驗設施，希望民眾從老虎來認識整個貓科家

族，因為除了家貓外，全球的貓科動物在捕獵

與棲地破壞的壓力下，全都是保育類，整個貓

科家族都需要大家來關心和參與保育行動。

(I) Themed ExhibitionsWe organized a total of 13 special exhibitions,

including “Just Love Felids – 2010 Year of the

Tiger Feline Special Exhibition” and “Digital

Insect Fairy Tale World” special exhibition, in

coordination with the year of the tiger.

◎“Just Love Felids” – 2010 Year of the Tiger

Feline Special Exhibition (Exhibition period:

February 10th-December 31st, 2010)

Whether it may be the magnificent tiger, lion

or adorable kitty at home, they are all members

of the family Felidae. This year (2010) is the

year of the tiger, we thus organized the “Just

Love Felids” – 2010 Year of the Tiger Feline

Special Exhibition, which introduces in detail the

categories of Felidae, habits and folk beliefs.

We cooperated with TRAFFIC in this special

exhibition, and used text, specimen, models, film

and interactive experience facilities in hopes of

letting visitors learn about the entire family felidae

from tigers. Besides domestic cats, all felidae

around the world are protected species due to

the pressure of hunting and destroyed natural

habitats; the entire family felidae need everyone’s

concern and participation in conservation.

Exhibit Theme Summary

Feline secretsIntroduces the evolution of felines, their categorization, differences between big and small cats, distribution, characteristics, senses, habits, and habitats.

The king of cats – On tigers in the year of the tiger

Brief introduction of tigers, human beings and tigers, totems and worship of primitive tribes, tigers and the theory of the five elements, complex meaning symbolized by tigers, and tigers and Taiwan’s folk belief.

Felidae in Taipei Zoo

Introduces features of felines exhibited in Taipei Zoo, including Chinese Leopard Cat (Prionailurus bengalensis chinensis ), Clouded Leopard, Eurasian Lynx (Lynx lynx ), Bengal Tiger (Panthera tigris tigris ), Lion (Panthera leo ) and Leopard.

Extreme catsIntroduces the largest and smallest cats, the dirtiest and rarest cats, the fastest cat, the best at catching fish and diving champion.

Cats Q&AIntroduces why cats cover their feces, why the shape of their pupils change, etc.

The fall of big catsExplains why the number of many cats has dropped drastically, its effect and their distribution.

Educational event: A total of 183 tours of the special exhibition were given for 3,021 visitors of the

special exhibition; “Kitty Games” was held 186 times with a total of 1,074 participants in September 5th-

貓科之最介紹貓科動物裡體型最大與最小的、最不愛乾淨的、最稀有的、短跑冠軍、捕魚冠軍及潛水冠軍等。

◎「數位昆蟲童話世界」昆蟲數位典藏特展

（展期：99年2月6日-6月20日）

2010年為全球設定之生物多樣性年，為檢

視各地推動生物多樣性保育之重要工作成果，

及展現我國為了達成2010年生物多樣性目標

的努力，尤其在完成臺灣本土生物多樣性基礎

生物分類調查及長期支持數位化的物種分類研

究上，我國也投入了相當大的心血及預算，尤

其昆蟲是物種中最多的類群，行政院國家科學

委員會早便投入了相當大的人力物力在建構我

國之昆蟲數位資料庫，以為我國生物多樣性資

訊之基礎。

因此為了呈現我國昆蟲數位典藏庫的精髓，

本園特別與臺灣大學昆蟲標本館數位典藏計畫

合作，利用平面文字、圖片、標本展示與多媒

體的影音設備與器材，將數位典藏計畫目標、

應用與成果，以互動的方式，設計「數位昆蟲

解說導覽及有獎問答摺紙教室

◎“Digital Insect Fairy Tale World” Special

to achieve the 2010 biodiversity goal, Taiwan

basic species classification of Taiwan’s endemic

species and long-term support of digit species

classification research. Considering that insects

Council, Executive Yuan invested a great amount

of human and material resources in building a

insect digital database, which is the foundation of

Taiwan’s biodiversity information.

讓臺灣將進400種蝴蝶中，有三種包括大紫斑

蝶、淺色小豹峽蝶、帝王蝶，確定在20世紀

滅絕。另外，因為人類活動引起的直接或間接

干擾，包括不當採集、林相更新、氣候變遷等

因素，讓紫斑蝶、珠光鳳蝶的生存環境岌岌可

危。在本特展中，以標本與圖片呈現的方式詳

細解說這些造成蝴蝶危機的原因與改變。

蝴蝶工藝產業曾為臺灣經濟起飛貢獻一份力

童話世界」特展，讓參觀民眾親身參與體驗，

結合昆蟲3D 影像物件數位模型、線上昆蟲學

知識查詢及動畫賞析，各式加值商品的展示，

能讓國人更了解數位典藏的意義與價值。

展出地點：本園昆蟲館。


展示主題：

以數位典藏國家型科技計畫出版的「愛麗絲

昆蟲奇遇記」為情境架構，故事屋的展示佈置

讓參觀者有如進入童話世界，並設計一系列冒

險故事劇情，有「紅心森林的冒險」、「勇闖鑽

石城」、「黑桃谷訓練班」、「放羊的小孩」、「螞

蟻的童話故事」等，藉由愛麗絲與不同昆蟲對

談的過程，達成多樣的情境互動教育意義，引

導參觀者進入昆蟲多變與奇幻的世界。

放羊小孩知識站—透過昆蟲動畫更進一步了解昆蟲的構造

Exhibition theme:

Using the publication “Alice in Bug-land” of

the National Digital Archives Program as the

background, the story house is decorated

to make visitors feel as if they entered a fairy

tale world. A series of adventure stories was

designed, including “Adventure of Red-heart

Forest,” “Bravely Rush Diamond Castle,” “Spade

Valley Training Course,” “Shepherd Child” and

“Fairy Tale of Ants,” and the process of Alice

talking to different insects achieves multiple

interactive educational meanings, guiding visitors

in to the ever changing mysterious world of

insects.

◎Butterfly Formosa! Taiwan Butterfly Kingdom

Special Exhibition (Exhibition period: July 3rd-

December 31st, 2010)

This special exhibition was jointly designed by

the Taipei Zoo and National Museum of Natural

Science, and allows visitors to learn about

butterflies from a biological perspective, explore

the beauty of Taiwan’s butterfly crafts industry

from a cultural perspective, and characteristics

of Taiwan’s butterflies from three perspectives

of conservation, as well as why Taiwan is the

“butterfly kingdom.”

T h e p u r s u i t o f e c o n o m i c g r o w t h i s

accompanied with land development; among

Taiwan’s near 400 species of butterflies, it has

been confirmed that three species, including

Euploea phaenareta juvia, Boloria pales yangi

and Danaus plexippus, became extinct in the 20th

century as a result. Moreover, direct or indirect

disturbance caused by human activity, including

inappropriate gathering, forest form renewal and

climate changes, have engendered the survival

environment of Euploea Sylvester swinhoei Wallce

& Moore and Troides magellanus. Specimen

and pictures are used in this special exhibition to

explain causes and changes that have resulted in

the dangerous situation of these butterflies.

The butterfly crafts industry once contributed

to Taiwan’s economic take off. This special

exhibition is Taiwan’s largest butterfly crafts

exhibition, including butterfly decorating board,

butterfly wing collages, butterfly decorated plastic

此外，本展覽從生物的角度為民眾介紹臺灣

特有種蝴蝶、蝴蝶的一生、攝食、棲息環境、避

敵策略與遷移行為；從研究的角度介紹為臺灣

蝴蝶研究投注畢生心血的中外名人；從文化的

角度訴說蝴蝶這幻舞精靈在古老原住民部落中

的美麗傳說。

教育活動：「福蝶夏令營」（7-8月每週六、日）

（二）多樣性植物展示

持續加強園區複層植被環境的塑造，以及配

合展示動物自然地理區位植被栽植。另因應花

博行銷及節慶活動，推出各種主題綠美化展示

布置，以提供遊客多元遊憩體驗。

this exhibition introduces famous researchers

who dedicated their lives to the research of

Taiwan’s butterflies; from a cultural perspective,

this exhibition tells beautiful legends of butterflies

that are passed on in ancient indigenous tribes.

(II) Diverse vegetation exhibitsTaipei Zoo continues to create a multiple layer

vegetative environment, as well as vegetation

according to the natural habitat of animals.

Furthermore, a variety of themed greening and

beautification exhibits were opened in response

to the Floral Exposition and various celebrations,

offer ing vis itors with a diverse recreat ion

experience.

（一）節水節能環教園區

在節水節能教育推廣方面，持續辦理遊客參

觀本園「節水節能設施及雨／中水利用」導覽

解說，共計367團5,983人次。

◎園區持續推動節水節能改善工作

節約用水方面：清洗園區雨水蓄水池，增加

雨水回收利用率，全園每月回收可用水超過

9,200噸，提供植栽澆灌、水生植物、公廁等

用水以取代自來水量。

節約能源方面：持續進行新光特展館、教育

中心等館舍逃生指示燈由10W改為1W LED燈

節能改善，每月用電量可節省約1,807度以上，

緊急照明28 W改為5W LED燈節能改善，每月

用電量可節省約828度以上，櫥窗燈50W改為

9W LED燈及更換MR-16盃燈5W，每月用電量

可節省約2,464度以上，其餘將逐館汰舊換新。

年度保養空調系統，提升用電效能約10%。

完成特展館大貓熊室內展場及隔離舍空調增

設工程，獨立提供動物欄舍區及室內動物展場

(I) Water and Energy Conservation Environmental Education Area

With regards to the promotion of water and

energy conservation education, a total of 367

groups with 5,983 people visited Taipei Zoo’s

“water and energy conservation facilities and rain/

used water utilization areas.”

◎Taipei Zoo continues to improve water and

energy conservation facilities.

In terms of water conservation: the rain water

reservoir was cleaned to increase the recycling

rate of rain water; each month Taipei Zoo recycles

over 9,200 tons of usable water for watering

plants, water plants and restrooms.

In terms of energy conservation: we changed

the escape indication light of the Special Exhibit

House and Education Center from 10W to 1W

LED lights, saving at least 1,807 kilowatt-hours

of electricity each month; changed emergency

lights from 28W to 5W LED lights, saving at least

828 kilowatt-hours of electricity each month;

changed showcase lights from 50W to 9W LED

lights and 5W MR-16 lights, saving at least 2,464

kilowatt-hours of electricity each month; lights of

remaining buildings will continue to be replaced

in the future. Annual maintenance of the air

conditioning system enhanced power efficiency

by roughly 10%.

教育推廣活動（一）深耕園區內常態教育推廣活動

園區研習活動計有臺北市128所國小21,547

位四年級學生來園參觀教學；辦理教師研習

營2梯次167人參加；團體預約解說服務，計

有366團26,735人次接受導覽解說（其中弱勢

接待導覽服務有49團3,475人次）；持續辦理

由園長親自領軍的教育推廣解說導覽活動「動

物爸爸Jason YA！暢遊園區談保育」，計12梯

次413人參加；年內擴大辦理動物保母解說服

務，計13種動物104場次。並持續辦理假日駐

站主題解說及解說牌雙語化。

（二）推展園內外主題教育活動

◎2010動物夏夏叫—

開心動物園working@zoo

首度推出創新之體驗型活動「開心動物園

working @ zoo」，亦為首次動物夏夏叫活動

以收費型態辦理。藉由「體驗」、「探索」、「感

動」、「啟發」之連鎖效應，提升活動之深度與

教育效應，期能透過探索動物園工作內容—角

色扮演，及活動設計—呈現動物園多元

性風貌、學習尊重生命關懷自然，啟

發參與者有關2010生物多樣性年

觀念。

活動內容以動物園職司體驗探

索為主，活動情境佈置場景及

現場活動以本園工作場域為主要題

材，藉由趣味性教育活動及體驗，

了解動物園的工作內容，設計了九大場館提供

參與者體驗動物園員工必備技能。

活動期間為7月3日起至12月31日止（活動天

數計162日，約850場次）。自7月3日活動啟動

初期以自由行參與為主打，7-8月共有8,605

人次參與。為滿足遊客不同層面需求，調整活

動組合及加值服務，自8月份起陸續推出1日

遊及半日遊體驗套裝行程。活動參與人次7-12

月總計參與達25,377人次。

收費方式：自由行護照300元（9站）、體驗

券100元（3站）；8月份開心寶貝營400元/人；

10-12月份動物小保母體驗營100-180元/人。

Educational Promotion Activities

(I) Deep plowing regular educational visits

A total of 21,547 fourth grade students in 128

elementary schools of Taipei City participated in

educational visits to Taipei Zoo in 2010; a total

of 167 teachers participated in the 2 teacher

workshops that were held; and a total of 366

groups with 26,735 people made appointments

for guided tours (in which 49 groups with 3,475

people were minority groups). The Director of

Taipei Zoo continues to personally lead the

educational promotion activity “Animal Dad Jason

Ya! Tour the Zoo and Talk about Conservation,”

which was held 12 times with a total

of 413 participants. This year we

expanded animal nanny services

to 104 sessions for 13 animals, and

continued to provide bilingual tours

dur ing the hol idays and made

bilingual signboards.

( I I ) Imp lemen t i ng themed educational events◎Animal Summer 2010 – working@zoo

We launched the innovative experience activity

“working @ zoo,” and for the first time charged a

fee for participating in Animal Summer. The chain

effects of “experience,” “exploration,” “affection”

and “innovation” enhance the activity’s depth

and educational effects. We hope to present the

diverse appearance of a zoo via exploration of

zoo work – role playing and activity design, so

that participants will learn to respect life, care

（二）提升館區空氣品質計畫

本計畫自96年起推動辦理。96年人員派訓

空氣品質查驗認證，教育中心、兩棲爬蟲動物

館、企鵝館、昆蟲館共計4館場獲空氣品質3顆

星認證（經專家學者巡檢認證）；後續將持續推

動提升館區空氣品質及參與認證。

動物保姆解說

Panda House and isolation ward, independently

satisfying air conditioning requirements of

animal housing and enclosure and indoor animal

exhibits. This air conditioning system operates

separately from visitor areas, achieving energy

conservation and carbon reduction when the

zoo or certain exhibits are closed, thus saving

expenses on electricity.

(II) Taipei Zoo Air Quality Improvement Project

This project has been implemented since

2007. Personnel sent to trainings in 2007

received certificates and Taipei Zoo received a

1 star accreditation. After improving indoor air

conditioning and air filtration equipment in 2009,

the Education Center, Amphibian and Reptile

House, Penguin House and Insectarium received

3 star accreditations in the air quality inspection

conducted by the Department of Environmental

Protection, Taipei City Government (accredited

by experts and scholars who inspected the

buildings); we will continue to improve building

air quality and participate in certifications in the

future.

◎2010動物園星光一班夜宿夏令營

本活動於99年7、8月份暑假期間辦理，共

舉辦6梯次、每梯次40人，共計240名學童參

加。現代生活中要體驗與野生動物相處或在夜

間欣賞大自然實屬不易，這是動物園首次推出

全新的策劃，為期2天1夜活動型態之夜宿夏

令營，活動內容除安排動物保育講座外，還包

含動物園工作區域的實際體驗與參訪、導覽、

實物的製作課程，及至貓空進行戶外生態教學

活動等；本活動提供化身動物保母的真實體

◎2010 Taipei Zoo Super Star Overnight

Summer Camp

This event was held 6 t imes during the

summer of 2010 (July and August), each with 40

participants to a total of 240 students. In modern

day life it is truly difficult to experience being with

wild animals or admiring nature at night. This is

a whole new plan of Taipei Zoo in the form of a 2

day 1 night summer camp. In addition to animal

conservation lectures, participants were also able

to experience and visit fields of work in Taipei

Zoo, and even take part in an outdoor ecological

teaching activity at Maokong. This event allowed

participants to experience what it is like to

be an animal nanny, and even enter staff only

for nature, and build the 2010

concept of biodiversity.

zoo. The settings and activities

al l feature Taipei Zoo’s work

fields, allowing participants to

understand zoo work through

an interesting and educational

萬聖節系列活動

有鑒於東、西方文化中均蘊含著豐富的動物

意象，以各種節慶為例，或多或少都找得出其

代表動物。因此，若能將節慶活動及保育概念

進行趣味整合，讓社會大眾在歡度節日之餘，

亦能正確認識動物，從而重視自然生態環境，

改善日常生活習慣，並認同動物園的保育理

Activity Series

Considering that both eastern and western

cultures are rich with animal images, e.g. a

representing animal can be found for almost every

celebration, if celebrations can be combined with

conservation concepts, it will allow the public

to gain correct knowledge of animals while they

are celebrating holidays, and further attach

importance to natural ecology, change their daily

habits, and acknowledge conservation concepts

of zoos. This Halloween activity series consists of

3 parts:

1.Animal horror house: The original exhibition

in the Education Center was replaced during

the period October 12th~31st, 2010 and

featured “animal crisis.” The exhibition was

decorated like crises frequently encountered

by wild animals and the ecological environment

damaged by human beings, e.g. “Road Kill”

– large pictures of tire marks were placed

and the sound of cars breaking was played

to simulate the danger of being under a tire;

“wild animal skinning” – animal specimen were

borrowed and special dye was used to create

a bloody image, making visitors ponder their

Be Wild 變裝趴

緊急剎車聲音，體驗在車輪底下受威

脅的情境；「剝製野生動物皮草」—借

展動物標本，並利用特殊顏料製造血腥

意象，思考美麗時尚與尊重生命的選擇等。

也邀請民眾變裝化身為動物、獵人等角色，

來共同體驗野生動物所可能遇到的苦難，進

而瞭解棲地保護及動物保育的重要性。

2.Zoolloween園遊會：10月30日下午，邀請

臺北動物園保育教育基金會等保育團體一起

闖關玩樂，以親子互動、寓教娛樂方式宣傳

野生動物保育的觀念。

（一）持續編製動物園雜誌（季刊）、年報等連續

性出版品；年內出版了《樂活園的秘密―

動物爸爸札記》、《山豬老大ABC》、《進

ZOO水世界―遇見水生植物》、《節水&

節能的臺北動物園！》等文宣出版品。

水是生命的泉源，在臺灣隨處可見，人

們也習慣地暢快使用。但水如何在地球

上循環？雨水怎麼來？又會到哪裡？降

雨量這麼多的臺灣，為何還要受到無水

可用的威脅？本書以擬人化的手法，筆

we specially built a runway for visitors in animal

related costumes to walk on the night of

Halloween on October 30th.

Diverse Conservation Education and Marketing

(I) Taipei Zoo continued to publish zoo magazines

(quarterly) and annual reports. This year Taipei

Zoo published “Secret of LOHAS – Notes of an

Animal Dad,” “Boar Boss ABC,” “Come to the

Zoo and Meet the Aquatic Plants” and “Water

and energy conservation of Taipei Zoo!”

Water is the source of life. It can be found

everywhere in Taiwan, and people use it without

thought, but how does water circulate on earth?

Where does rain come from? Where does it go?



記小水滴的旅行見聞，書中透過6

個主題與6位主角介紹動物園裏的

水生植物外，也對水體環境的動

物、水資源的重要性以及面臨的一

些問題等加以說明，並配合一些插

畫的表現，全文中英對照，讓本書不僅

是小朋友的書，也是大人可以獲得知識

的饗宴。

◎《山豬老大ABC》

為本園自製「臺北動物起床號」廣播節目

之延伸出版系列叢書。本書以動物園的

動物們為故事背景，透過「山豬老大」和

「小泥鰍」兩位主角的鮮明個性與幽默對

話，讓小朋友可以輕鬆學習與動物相關

的英文單字與生態知識。本書內容是專

為小朋友量身打造、結合有聲書的故事

繪本，介紹涵蓋昆蟲、爬蟲類、鳥類、

哺乳類等動物，主角以「誰在天空飛得

高」、「誰在地上跑最快」、「誰像蜥蜴沒

有腳」等問題引發小朋友好奇心，輔以

「聲出小小知識家」中真人配音的保育故

事，藉此深入淺出的劇情導引小朋友認

識動物、進而喜愛英文，兼具語文學習

與保育教學的功能。.

（二）透過媒體通路向外推廣動物園保育及教

育訊息，全年發佈新聞149則。加強網

際網路資訊服務，配合臺北市政府機關

網整合，本園機關網中文網於99年2月

3日上線啟用，至12月底首頁造訪人次

達666,155人次；臺北動物園全球資訊

網配合市府機關網建置，改版為臺北動

物園保育網，於99年5月22日啟用，其

中新增有兒童網、部落格等單元， 99年

1~12月首頁造訪人次計達1,184,837人

次（含改版前後），改版後至12月底首頁

造訪人次計達652,765人次。為打造動

物園生動活潑之形象氛圍，並爭取與潛

在遊園民眾之互動機會，本園於99年6月

29日成立「Taipei Zoo 臺北市立動物園」

Facebook官方粉絲團，以「即時互動」、

「溝通橋樑」及「爭取認同」為目標執行。

（三）本園自製「臺北動物起床號」廣播節目

自98年2月7日起，每週六於臺北廣播

電台播出。本節目因題材新穎兼具寓教

於樂之內容設計，已連續兩年榮獲臺北

電臺提報廣播金鐘「兒童少年節目獎」、

「兒童少年節目主持人獎」，並於99年獲

臺北市政府創意提案會報優等獎。

With so much rain in Taiwan, why are Taiwanese

people threatened by water shortages? This book

personifies a drop of water and records what it

experiences and sees; this book uses 6 themes

and 6 main characters to introduce water plants

in Taipei Zoo, and also describes and illustrates

animals that live in the water, the importance of

water resources and issues that we face. The

entire book is bilingual, making it more than just a

children’s book, but also a feast of knowledge for

adults as well.

◎“Boar Boss ABC”

This book series is an extension of the radio

program “Wake-Up Call from Taipei Animals.”

This book uses zoo animals as the story

background; the two main characters “boar

boss” and “little loach” have clear personalities

and humorous dialogue, allowing children to feel

at ease when learning animal related English

vocabulary and ecological knowledge. This book

was tailored for children and comes with audio,

introducing insects, reptile, birds and mammals;

questions like “who flies the highest,” “who runs

the fastest” and “who doesn’t have feet like a

lizard” arouse children’s curiosity, and the “audio

knowledge” section has both language learning

and conservation education functions as it uses

simple stories on conservation to let children

learn about animals and further like English.

(II) Conservation and education information of

Taipei Zoo is released via media channels; a

total of 149 news reports were broadcasted

in 2010. To strengthen information services

online and in coordination with the integration

of Taipei City Government agency websites,

the Chinese website of Taipei went online on

February 3rd, 2010, and had 666,155 visitors

by the end of December. Taipei Zoo global

information network was changed to Taipei

Zoo conservation network in coordination

with agencies of Taipei City Government

and went onl ine on May 22nd, 2010; a

children’s network and blog were added;

Taipei Zoo’s website was visited 1,184,837

times in January-December 2010 (includes

before website revision), in which 652,765

visits were from after the revision to the

end of December. To create a lively image

opportunity to interact with potential visitors,

Taipei Zoo on June 29th, 2010 set up a “Taipei

Zoo” facebook fan page, aiming to achieve

“real-time interaction,” act as a “bridge for

communication” and “strive for recognition.”

(III) The radio program “Wake-Up Call from

Taipei Animals” produced by Taipei Zoo

was broadcasted by Taipei Broadcasting

Station every Saturday since February 7th,

2009. Thanks to its innovative contents that

are both entertaining and educational, the

radio program was nominated by Taipei

Broadcasting Station for the Broadcast

Go lden Be l l Awards “Bes t Ch i l d ren

Programme” and “Best Host in a Children

Programme” for two consecutive years,

and also received the excellence award

for creat ive proposal from Taipei City

Government in 2010.

（一）自98年7月起園內餐飲、紀念品服務全面

公開招商委外經營，結合動物意象及保

育教育推廣理念設置，99年提供餐飲服

務8處及紀念品服務7處。

（二）園區提供融合動物意象兼具美觀清潔與

便利貼心的廁所環境，99年獲臺北市政

府評定「臺北市績優公廁總評鑑【遊憩

類】特優」。

（三）本園除提供常態的參觀諮詢電話、失物

協尋等遊客服務事項外，亦提供學生參

加學習公共服務之機會。本園常年輔導

國、高中生參加園區公共服務，99年計

3,856人次。

除此之外，自98年第1學期起，與政治

大學合作，推動「服務學系課程：動物

園關懷天使」，修習課程學生（即「關懷

天使」）來園參與服務，98年9-12月計有

378人，99年1-12月計有1,389人。另

外，多年來與文山特殊教育學校配合，

提供學生於園區服務實習。

( I ) In July 2009, food and beverage and souvenir

services were outsourced and established

in coordination with animal images and

conservation education and promotion

concepts; in 2010, 8 locations provided

food and beverage services and 7 locations

provided souvenir services.

(II) Taipei Zoo offers a clean and convenient

restroom environment combined with animal

images, which received an “excellent” rating

in the recreation category of Taipei City

Government’s restroom evaluation in 2010.

(III) In addition to regular services, such as visitor

telephone queries and lost and found, Taipei

Zoo also offers students with community

service opportunities. Community service

opportunities for middle and high school

students inside the Zoo totaled 3,856 in

2010.

Furthermore, we began cooperating with

National Chengchi University in the 1st

semester in academic year 2009, and

implemented “Service learning course: Zoo

care angels,” allowing students taking the

course (the “care angels”) to take part in

services of Taipei Zoo; a total of 378 students

took the course in September-December

2009, and a total of 1,389 students took the

course in January-December 2009. Also, we

have worked together with Wenshan School

of Special Education for numerous years in

providing service internship opportunities.

Visitor’s Center and Nursery Room Improvement Plan

This plan was initiated in 2010 in response

to the trend of breast feeding, and to improve

service quality for queries, injuries and breast

feeding. The Taipei Zoo specially conducted a

questionnaire survey on the design of a nursery

room during the planning stage of the plan to

better meet the breast feeding needs of visitors.

Furthermore, design and renovation of the

counter area, nursery room and nursing area of

the Visitor’s Center were based on the concept

to provide a friendly and convenient single

window of services; the areas were reopened in

December.

◎Key points of improvement:

The traffic flow at the counter of the Visitor’s

Center was shortened, storage space was

incorporated in overall space planning and

integrated to re lease publ ic space, thus

enhancing the efficiency of query services

and providing an aesthetic appearance that is

visually pleasing; service personnel are able to

immediately learn about visitors’ injuries or breast

feeding needs, and rapidly guide them to the

nursing area or breast feeding area.

The traffic flow to the breast feeding area and

nursing area are separated to provide injured

visitors with a good resting environment. In

addition, the breast feeding area was expanded

to 4 rooms with 5 seats, and has restrooms,

diaper changing platform, refrigerator, water

dispenser and washing basin, providing a

complete nursery environment in the zoo.



因應提倡母乳哺育之時代潮流，及提升遊園

諮詢、傷病及哺乳遊客之服務品質，99年啟

動本計畫。為能更貼近哺乳遊客之需求，特於

規劃設計期間先對哺集乳室之設計進行專案遊

客問卷調查，並以重點式、親和性及便利性之

單一窗口服務環境之設計理念，完成遊客服務

中心櫃檯區、哺乳區及護理區之整體設計及整

修後，於12月重新啟用。

◎改善重點：

服務中心櫃檯之動線縮短、儲藏空間融入整

體空間規劃及整併釋出公共空間，提升遊客諮

詢服務效率及提供整體整齊美觀之視覺享受，

服務人員得以即時接近了解傷病與哺乳遊客需

創新遊憩體驗

求，並迅速引導至護理區與哺乳區。

哺乳區與護理區動線分流，傷病遊客有良好

的休憩環境。另哺乳區增加為4間5座位，並

設置廁所、換尿布檯、冰箱、飲水機及洗手

檯，提供遊園親子完善的育嬰環境服務。

(II) “Green” Experience of Plants in Daily Life

We organized “green” experience activities

featuring plants in daily life, offering recreational

experiences with educational meaning aside from

animal and plant exhibits.

◎“Cultivating water bamboo” and “Harvesting

crops” rural ecological experience teaching

activity – Held in accordance with the season

to let students learn about the growth of

rice paddy and water bamboo, the pains of

harvest, and further learn to cherish food.

Innovative Recreation

( I ) L O H A S P o w e r Wa l k i n g f o r Conservation

The “LOHAS Power Walking for Conservation”

on the 7th and 8th of August 2010 was the first

time Taipei Zoo invited the public to go on a

power walk around the zoo early in the morning.

Activities for promoting animal conservation

issues were held at the same time in hopes of

passing on animal conservation knowledge and

vitalizing the atmosphere in the zoo.

This power walk invited well known enterprises

with a positive image (The Sherwood Taipei, Hey

Song Corporation and KHAM Ticket), not only

to gain their support, but also cultivate seeds of

conservation in external units, which will further

support the promotion of wildlife protection and

fulfill our social responsibility towards the rights

and welfare of wild animals!

We cooperated with numerous organizations

(Sunshine American School, L ions Clubs

International and New Balance) afterwards in

organizing related activities.

（一）樂活健步走．保育向前行

於99年8月7、8日辦理「樂活健步走保育向

前行」活動，為首次對外開民眾利用大清早到

環園道路健走運動，同時加入推廣動物保育議

題之活動，期以達到動物保育知識傳遞及活絡

動物園遊園氣氛。

本次健走活動邀請具有正面形象與高知名度

之企業（西華飯店、黑松公司、寬宏藝術）合作

參與，除了讓企業主實際支持園方活動之外，

並可藉由活動培育出更多外單位的保育種子，

進而支持推廣野生動物保育工作，為野生動物

的權利與福利盡一份社會責任！

繼本活動之後，陸續有多個團體（陽光森林

幼稚園、國際獅子會、New Balance公司）與

本園合作辦理相關活動。

「秋收農作物」體驗活動—團團吃茭白筍健走活動

人工哺育的小白手長臂猿「琍知」，在動物保母的陪同下，與民眾一同參與健走活動。



（二）生活化植物「綠」體驗活動

多元推展以生活化植物為主題的相關「綠」

體驗活動，提供動物、植物展示之外的遊憩體

驗並兼具自然教育意義。

◎「春耕美人腿」、「秋收農作物」農村生態體

驗教學活動—配合季節時令，於園內分階段

辦理，使學童認識農村自然生態水生農作物

水稻和茭白荀的生長過程，對農忙收耕之辛

勞有具體概念，進而惜物。

◎母親節推出「東方狗脊蕨寶寶養護瓶」認養

活動，贈送養護瓶並教導養護技巧。（取東

方狗脊蕨母株於葉面繁殖幼株的特性，有如

媽媽背寶寶的親子型態特色。）

◎配合端午節於爬蟲館特展室辦理的五毒動物

展，同時展出與端午節有關的特色植物，包

括：端午節避邪植物、引蛇植物、驅蛇植

物、驅蟲植物、包粽子用植物等共18種。

◎99年6月「小小綠手指綠化教室」開幕，提供

參與體驗DIY環保綠地球活動等，讓小朋友

輕鬆認識蕨類並從生活中學習家庭綠化。

plants to repel bugs, and plants

for wrapping glutinous rice.

The Director and Chief Chih-Hua Chang went to Xiaogetou to attend the event held by the Forestry Bureau and Taipei County Government to release a Mountain Hawk-Eagle. (The Mountain Hawk-Eagle was injured in 2008 and cared for by Taipei Zoo for over six months.)

For the first time issued special edition tickets with features of Taipei Zoo and collection value. Four designs of the tiger year special edition ticket were issued, each design was used on 120 thousand full-fare tickets and 80 thousand concession tickets; the four designs according to the theme of each season were tiger, clouded leopard, lion and leopard cat. Sales of the first season’s special edition tickets began on February 14th in coordination with Chinese New Year.

02/16-03/17Assistant technician Chou Chiang of Sichuan Yaan Panda Base came to Taipei Zoo to provide guidance for the research on “Giant Panda breeding” and related reproductive physiology testing technology.

11/22Taipei Zoo won the 2010 Government Service Quality Award of Taipei City Government for supreme quality in the on site review, and was recommended to participate in the Executive Yuan’s 3rd Government Quality Award.

12/03Taipei Zoo’s 2 research projects were rated as grade A among research reports of city government agencies in 2009.

12/17Chiayi County Jhuci Township’s Long Qun Crocodile Farm donated a pair of Tomistoma, and moved them from Chiayi to Taipei Zoo’s Asian Tropical Rainforest Area.
