-Serve as Director of Clinical Education and Block Leader for all Clinical Education
Blocks at University of Maryland, Baltimore (Integrated Clinical Experience 1 and 2,
Full Time Internships 1, 2, and 3)
-Instruct and evaluate DPT students in basic skills labs, including goniometric
measurements, manual muscle testing, surface palpation, sensation testing, vital signs and
mobility training
-Instruct and evaluate DPT students in acute care and cardiopulmonary topics
-Instruct and evaluate PTA students in therapeutic exercise, therapeutic modalities,
coordination and balance, and basic skills including goniometric measurements and
manual muscle testing
-Served as guest lecturer for ICU, cardiovascular, pulmonary, and vascular content
material at Old Dominion University
-Co-instructed manual muscle testing and cardiovascular lectures and labs with the
Physical Therapy Department Chair at Old Dominion University
Clinical Activities
Acute Care
-Clinical focus on acute care physical therapy, including trauma (level 1 trauma center),
neurology, oncology, burns, orthopedics, cardiovascular (including heart transplant and
LVAD), pulmonary, and infectious disease
-Managed the daily schedules of all Physical Therapists in the acute care department at
Sentara Norfolk General Hospital
-Served as an Epic E-Care Super User and assisted with transitioning hospitals in the
Sentara Healthcare System to electronic documentation
-Instruct DPT students in the acute care clinical setting
-Served as the rehabilitation representative for ICU stroke rounds and burn rounds
Inpatient Rehabilitation
-Developed the Pulmonary Rehabilitation program at Westminster Canterbury in Virginia
Beach, VA
-Co-organized the therapy department in the first acute rehabilitation unit in Virginia
Beach, VA and served as the first physical therapist on the unit
-Certified to use the Functional Independence Measure in the acute rehabilitation setting
-Clinical focus on acute and subacute physical therapy, including trauma, neurology,
orthopedics, cardiovascular, pulmonary and infectious disease
-Instructed transfer and gait training classes for nursing staff
-Attended tri-weekly inter-disciplinary rounds on patient care
