EMPLOYMENT AND COMPENSATION UPDATE

" Health Care Benefits "   EUTF does not determine Bargaining Units "   On the trail of who does; the mystery will be solved!

" BOR President Search Meeting "   Supporter of Chancellor Apple’s efforts on GA pay "   Knowledgeable about local environmental impacts of UH System "   Tuition: Work with legislature but also fund raising experience "   Local or ties to Hawai’i "   Academic or Business Leader? No strong opinions

" BOR policy requiring discussion between Chancellor and GSO President "   Met with Regent Acido: Questions to Address

" Doesn’t this happen already? Why not Manoa Constitution? Micromanaging? Consequences? Any advice or help is welcomed

"   The graduate student experience and culture is unique to each University of Hawai’i campus. In the past, issues such as

compensation, office space, mentoring, morale, and workload have been neglected by system and campus level administration.

In order to build a positive working relationship and avoid collective bargaining, the chancellor should reach out annually to the graduate student representative body to discuss employment

and compensation, time to degree, research opportunities, research responsibilities, assistantship requirements, hours, and all other issues related to working as a graduate assistant at that

campus.
