EUROPEAN PROJECTS

Comenius Assistantships

The assistant will be included in our educational activities for 16

hours per week. Section will support teachers to address

children in English to improve their learning.

The Comenius Assistant will be present in our school from October to June.

European Partnership

In our project titled: “The young Europeans know each other” are

involved six schools in many countries:

Italia - Palazzolo s/O, Turchia – Elazig, Francia – Bourbon L’

Archamebault, Gran Bretagna – Birmingham, Polonia – Varsavia,

Portogallo – Torres Novas.

The school’s goal for children in pre-

primary is promote the development of:

- identity (learning to be comfortable

with themselves)

- autonomy (to find out for themselves)

- competence (know-how and interpersonal

skills)

- citizenship (the ability to welcome

and communicate with others)

Our pre-primary school aims to:

- Promove interpersonal relationships to know

children and their stories;

- Be a social context where all the stories converge

and the differences are compared and integrated;

- Stimulate the physical and emotional autonomy

of children as a privileged way to manifest and

implement the strategies of thought and action of

each;

- Consider the activities as a means to strengthen the autonomy and individual identity.

The major targets for skills development, as

indicated by the Italian Ministry of

Education (2007) are:

CATHOLIC RELIGION

The ministerial regulations are designed to

include the teaching of the Catholic religion: 1

hour and 30 minutes per week.

Pre-primary school’s aim is to promote:

- knowledge of the essential elements for the

gradual reflection on the religious reality in its

expression of historical, cultural, social;

- dialogue and respect with different religious beliefs.

ALTERNATIVE ACTIVITIES

For children who do not participate on the teaching

of the Catholic religion is organized alternative

activities run by a teacher in the section.

We plan, every year, activities aimed

at reinforcing language, narrative-pictorial or

graphic skills.
