Hyderabad city Pakistan, along Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas Road.

INTRODUCTION

• Sindh Agriculture University, is situated in Tando Jam town at 18 km from Hyderabad, on Hyderabad-Mirpurkhas highway.

• It is about 200 km from Karachi airport linked with super highway to Hyderabad.

• Sindh Agriculture University is ranked 4th best university in Agriculture by HEC.

• The total area covered by the university is 416.66 acres (1.6862 km2).

• Including an area of more than 80 acres occupied by residential and non-residential buildings of the university.

SINDH AGRICULTURE UNIVERSITY

• The university is an academic complex of five faculties, two centres, one constituent college and Directorate of Advanced Studies and Research.

• Atomic Energy Agricultural Research Centre (AEARC) Tando Jam was formerly inaugurated on November 22, 1963.

• A first institute of Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission in agriculture in the province of Sindh.

• The main theme was to make peaceful uses of Atomic Energy in Agriculture.

• It was upgraded as Nuclear Institute of Agriculture (NIA) in 1998.

• At present, the institute performs its scientific activities in the disciplines of Plant Breeding & Genetics, Plant Protection, Soil Science and Plant Physiology

regions.

ATOMIC ENERGY

• Tandojam’s literacy rate is 50%.
