Half-day workshop An Introduction to STM32F4 Discovery Board and its Applications in Power Electronics ﻣﻘﺪﻣﻪ اي ﺑﺮ ﺑﺮد دﯾﺴﮑﺎوريSTM32F4 و ﮐﺎرﺑﺮدﻫﺎي آن در اﻟﮑﺘﺮوﻧﯿﮏ ﻗﺪرتLecturer: Mr. Mohammad-Sadegh Karbasforooshan, [email protected], Ferdowsi University of Mashhad Description: The STM32F4 discovery kit from ST includes the STM32F407, which is a 32-bit ARM Cortex- M4 microcontroller with a floating point unit (FPU) running at 168MHz. Also, it has three 12- bit ADCs, two 12-bit DACs and two PWM timers for power electronics and motor drive applications. The discovery kit has an ST-LINK embedded debug tool, one ST-MEMS digital accelerometer, a digital microphone, one audio DAC, LEDs, push-buttons and a USB OTG micro-AB connector. In this workshop, after a brief introduction of features and capabilities of the STM32F407 the application of STM32F4 discovery kit in power electronics will be presented and some practical tests will be conducted to better understand the theoretical concepts. Main topics: - Overview of STM32F4 - Introduction of related softwares and programming environments - Creating and programming a simple project - Analysis of main capabilities of STM32F4 (especially in power electronics applications) Mohammad-Sadegh Karbasforooshan was born in Mashhad, Iran, in 1991. He received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees (both with honors) in electrical engineering from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran, in 2013 and 2015, respectively. Since 2015, he is toward the Ph.D. degree in Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran in electrical engineering. In 2015 and 2016, he received the Best Researcher Award and the National Outstanding Student Award, respectively. His research interests include power electronics, renewable energy, control of power converters and active power filters.
