薙神剣を祀ったのが神宮の起源とされ、景けい

天皇43年
（113）に鎮座されました。その昔から「熱田さん」と呼ばれて親しまれ、年間
700万人以上の参拝者でにぎわいます。地元名古屋はもとより全国の人々か
ら「心のふるさと」として、崇敬と信仰を集めています。
Atsuta Jingu (shrine) originated to house the fabled sword “Kusanagi-no-mitsurugi,” (Grass-Cutting sword) which is one of three regalia of the Japanese Emperor. Built in 113 A.D. Atsuta Shrine has long been known as “Atsuta-san” and more than 7 million visitors come to worship there every year. It attracts people from all over Japan and receives adoration from Japanese people.

ます。境内では終日武道や芸能が奉納されます。夕刻
には献灯まきわらが点灯され、神宮公園では花火が打ち
上がります。
■ 例 祭 Reisai Festival
This is the most important and grandest festival at Atsuta Shrine. The festival, also known as “Atsuta Matsuri” and “Shoubu-sai,” is held on June 5th every year. Throughout the day martial arts displays are performed to appease the gods residing in the shrine. Elsewhere around the precinct, visitors can observe other kinds of ritual performances. Paper lanterns, known as “kento makiwara,” are lit from the evening, and fireworks are set off at Jingu Park.

Homotsukan has a collection of approximately 6,000 items donated from a wide range of worshipers including the general public as well as the Imperial family, Shogun, and liege lords. Special treasures are on public display and are changed every month.

田の魅力を発信していくためのマークです。atsutaの「a」と熱田の歴史・
伝統を共鳴させ、熱田の歴史に息づく巨木の年輪を表現したデザインに
なっています。
Brandmark of AtsutaAstuta has long inherited history, culture and nature. This brandmark was designed to highlight the attractiveness of Atsuta. This symbolizes ‘a’ of Atsuta and growth rings of a giant tree representing its history and tradition.

堀川は、名古屋城の築城に際し物資の運搬を目的として開削され、400年
以上もの間、名古屋の経済や文化を支えてきました。
1612年に完成した名古屋城は国内最大級の城郭であり、1930年に城郭とし
て初の国宝に指定されました。惜しくも空襲により焼失しましたが、本丸御
殿は2018年6月に完成公開を迎えました。
現在、天守閣の木造復元事業が進められています。
Horikawa River is a man-made river excavated at the same time as Nagoya Castle was built so as to carry goods to and from the castle. It has been supporting Nagoya’s economy and culture for over 400 years.Nagoya Castle was built in 1612 and is one of the largest castles in Japan. It was designated as a national treasure in 1930 but was destroyed in air raids during the Second World War. The “Honmaru Goten” (palace of the castle keep) was restored and opened to public in June 2018.The wooden “Tenshukaku” (castle tower) is being renovated at present.

池を「伊勢湾」に見立て、源流から大海までの“水の物語”をテーマとしています。
毎月第3水曜日には庭園スタッフによる心のこもったお抹茶がいただける
「おもてなし茶会（料金：500円）」を開催しています。
Shirotori Garden is a traditional Japanese garden landscaped in the “chisen kaiyu” style (a style featuring a path around a pond). The garden is about 3.7 hectares, making it one of the largest in the Tokai area. It has been landscaped in such a way as to mimic the scenery and landmarks of the Chubu region. A water feature symbolizes the Kiso River running from its source at Mt. Ontake down through miniature plains to the Pacific ocean, emptying into the Ise Bay which is represented by a pond. You can experience an “Omotenashi Tea Ceremony” (fee: 500 yen) the third Wednesday of every month.

東海道のうち宮宿・桑名宿間は唯一の海路で、尾張
藩の海の玄関口として栄えました。現在は当時の
「時の鐘」、「常夜燈」が復元され、歴史の香り漂う公
園となっています。

Miyano Watashi Park
“Tokaido” (Eastern Ocean Road) has long been the most important public road connecting major cities in history. The route between Miyashuku (in Atsuta) and Kuwanashuku (in Kuwana, Mie) on Tokaido was connected by ship, so this area in Atsuta flourished as an important gateway to this ocean route. Currently, this Miyashuku area has become a park where “toki no kane” (a time bell) and “jouya to” (a tower lightening all night) were restored.
熱田神宮での「朔日参り」の習慣を、多くの方に知っ

Atsuta Tsuitachi-Ichi (First day Market)
Tsuitachi-Ichi is a public open-air market organized by shopkeepers from the long-established stores in Atsuta on the first day of every month (except for New Year’s Day). This market was started to let people know about an old habit of “tsuitachi-ichi mairi” (worship on the first day) at Atsuta Shrine. The market is now a spot one can experience the famous Japanese “omotenashi,” or hospitality.

Soba Naoto is an excellent noodle restaurant just a short walk from Atsuta Shrine. Naoto serves a wide range of hand-made soba noodles made from carefully selected buckwheat flour. They also offer great Tempura using seasonal ingredients, which is absolutely scrumptious. You should definitely try both!

大矢蒲鉾は、150年以上の歴史ある蒲鉾店です。蒲鉾は白

は注文した後に揚げてもらえるため、出来立てを味わうこ
とができるのでお勧めです。

Ooya Kamaboko Shoten has a long history over 150 years. Kamaboko is made from white fish paste. You can eat it on its own or with soy sauce or in noodles. You should definitely try “Agekamaboko” which is fried Kamaboko. There are varieties of flavors including seasonal ingredients. Ooya Kamaboko Shoten fries after placing your order. Agekamaboko is best eaten when freshly fried.

Shirotori Promenade is a walking path from Nagoya Congress Center to Shirotori Park. You can enjoy beautiful rows of cherry blossoms along the Horikawa River in spring.

Dampusan Ancient Mound 1-10-45 Hataya, Atsuta-ku
It is the largest keyhole-shaped burial mound in the Tokai area and a government-designated historical site. It is now thought that this mound is a tomb of an important lord of the Owari clan (an influential ruling elite in this region). Previously, it was believed to have been a mausoleum of Queen Miyazuhime, a wife of Prince Yamato Takeru-no-Mikoto.

江戸時代、熱田は伊勢湾に面しており、漁業が盛んに行われ、熱田神宮
の南に「市」が栄えていました。その当時の魚市場は、現在日比野の「中央
卸売市場」に整理統合されています。
1949年に開場した中央卸売市場。早朝から青果や水
産物の取引が行われています。中央卸売市場本場
は、一般の方は立ち入りができませんが、市場を紹
介する見学は受け付けています。

There is a wide variety of food on the menus including fresh sashimi. If you do not like raw fish, you can still enjoy various other dishes such as seafood hot pot or fried squid.
Atsuta faced the Ise Bay in the Edo Period, so the fishing industry was vigorous, and a fish market flourished in the southern part of Atsuta Jingu. The old fish market was organized and consolidated into the Nagoya Central Wholesale Market in Hibino.

名鉄本線、JR中央本線・東海道本線、地下鉄名城線・名港線と数多くの路線が乗り入れており、一日
40万人以上が利用する交通の要となっています。駅の南側には金山南広場や金山南ビルが、北側には
アスナル金山があり、駅を含む地域一帯が、にぎわいの拠点となっています。東京オリンピックやリ
ニア中央新幹線の東京～名古屋間の開通もあり、金山周辺の新たなまちづくり構想が進行中。

Kanayama General Station 1-17-18 Kanayama, Naka-ku
Kanayama General station is an important rail hub with many lines running through, such as the Meitetsu line, Main Line, JR Central Main Line, Tokaido Main Line, Meijo and Meiko Subway Lines. This busy station more than 400,000 sees people pass through it every day. Kanayama South Square and Kanayama South Building are on the south side, while Asunal Kanayama Shopping Mall is on the north side, so the whole area, including the station, is a bustling spot in Atsuta. A new town is slated for construction around the station in time for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The opening of the Linear Chuo Shinkansen between Tokyo and Nagoya should also see this station rise in importance further still.

Nagoya Urban Institute 1-1-1 Kanayama, Naka-ku
This is a center which conducts surveys and research about “machizukuri” (city planning) in Nagoya. The center is in Kanayama South Building, a landmark of this area. You can enjoy an exhibition, a library, a diorama of the city and important documents about city planning. This is a place where people of any age can learn about the history of city planning in Nagoya.

Asunal Kanayama, whose name is derived from "For a better tomorrow," is one of the major commercial facilities in the Kanayama area. There are at least three reasons that you should visit this site. The first one is its convenience. It is right in front of Kanayama Station. Second, there are many places to eat, such as a pizzeria and a Chinese Yamcha restaurant. Third, the facility offers several events on a regular basis. Wouldn’t you like to come and have a good time in the Asunal Kanayama?
Aeon Mall is one of the largest shopping mall chains in Japan. In Atsuta, you can find a branch of Aeon Mall. There are cozy restaurants on the fourth floor in addition to a food court on the second floor of the shopping complex. You won't have trouble finding a good place to eat. This site is also very convenient. There's a free shuttle bus to and from Kanayama Station.
