The first call for proposals under the EU-China Research and Innovation Co-

Funding Mechanism published on16 December 2015

• Beijing, 16 December 2015 – Further to the political agreement reached at the EU-China

Summit in Brussels on 29 June and the operational conclusions of the 12th EU China Joint

Steering Committee Meeting on S&T Cooperation (JSCST) held in Beijing on 30 October, the

Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) has published the first call for proposals

under the EU-China Co-Funding Mechanism (CFM) for Research and Innovation, paving

the way for deepened cooperation between European and Chinese research and innovation

stakeholders. This first call launched on 16 December will enable China-based entities that

are part of successful proposals under the Horizon 2020 2014/15 work programme and

submitted proposals to the Horizon 2020 2016 work programme to apply for co-funding from

MOST. MOST has set aside a yearly budget of 200 million Chinese Yuan (nearly €30 million)

for the EU-China Co-Funding Mechanism until 2020.

• 北京,2015年12月16日 – 继6月29日在布鲁塞尔举行的欧盟-中国峰会达成的协议和10月30日在北京举行的第十二次欧中科技合作联合指导委员会会议(JSCST)的工作结论,中国科技部发布了中欧科研创新联合资助机制首轮项目征集,为深化双边科研创新合作奠定了基础。12月16日发布的首轮项目征集将面向成功入选“地平线2020”2014/2015年度工作计划的中方申请者、以及向2016/2017年度工作计划提交申请的中方机构,向科技部申请联合资助资金。截至2020年,科技部拟每年向中欧联合资助机制投入2亿元人民币(近3000万欧元)。

EU China Co-funding Mechanism (CFM)

• Including the areas of agriculture (including food), biotechnologies, ICT,

space, aviation, energy, health, transport, water resources, energy saving

and emission reduction, advanced manufacturing, new materials,

sustainable urbanisation, and exchange of young scientists.

• 领域包括农业(含食品)、生物技术、信息通信技术、空间、航空、能源、健康、交通、水资源、节能减排、先进制造、新材料、可持续城镇化、青年科学家交流活动等。

• In practice, all topics under the Horizon 2020 ‘Leadership in Enabling and

Industrial Technologies’, ‘Societal Challenges (except the Security one)’,

‘Future and Emerging Technologies’, ‘Research Infrastructures’ and

‘Research and Innovation Staff Exchange’ as well as the Euratom Nuclear

Energy topics are expected to be eligible for the CFM.
