本册书是“国际合作综合英语教学实验”小学教材第六册下册(6B),适用于实验班六年级下学期。本册编写秉承实验一贯倡导的综合英语教学宗旨,突出培养儿童语言能

力,不搞词汇背记;注重轻松愉悦、生动活泼的语言习得过程,不搞机械的语法操练;注重贴近儿童生活和兴趣需要,最大限度地调动儿童的学习积极性,不片面追求每一节课完美无瑕。本实验强调全英语教学。本套教材理念独特,是其他英语教材不可代替的。本册作为小学高年级阶段的教材,重视儿童思维特点及语言发展需要的语言量和难度,强调“听、说、读、写、做、唱”综合;参与体验,快乐学习;玩中学,做中学,享受学习,以保证实验目标的实现。根据实验设计,学生学完本册(6B)后,能根据自我评价的结果有意识地调整英语学习的目标和策略。能较自如地与讲英语的人士就日常生活中的话题进行交流并参与讨论。能熟练地做日常生活的口头翻译。能有效地利用所掌握的英语知识在口头或书面上表达自己的观点。能够读懂适合一般学校9年级上学期学生阅读的读物,熟练运用克服生词障碍的方法,提高阅读速度,并准确地获取相关信息。能有效利用网络等多种资源获取和处理信

涵和背景。更重要的是,学生的英语学习动机进一步增强,有较强的自主学习

意识,对学习英语继续保持浓厚兴趣。

一、本册编写的主要特点《小学综合英语6B》按主题性活动教学原则,以学生生活和学习内容为主

线,分设八个学习单元,按每两个单元一个梯度,共四个梯度逐级展开。  1. 每一单元按主题性活动教学展开,在主题活动设计下学习知识、发展能力并获得语言。

2. 单元中的每一模块编排都以主题活动导入,并且每个模块之间联系紧密。每一单元都以活动贯穿始终。每个单元分为六个模块:Listen and say,

Read and learn, Read and enjoy(act), Discuss and write, Do and learn, Sing and

chant。六个模块之间有一条明显的情景线索贯穿,每个单元都开展一个探索性或整合性活动,都学习一首与主题紧密相连的歌曲或童谣。  3. 6B的编制重视课程的综合性,但是这种综合是有机地将美术、体育、音乐、社会、自然、思想品德等融于适当的主题中,自然呈现,而不是机械的拼凑。  4. 6B设置紧密结合学生生活的真实情境,并依据学生的年龄特点设置趣

  5. 6B重视提供实用性的知识,为学生创设应用环境,学以致用,使学生触景即发。二、本册使用说明  1. 在使用本书进行教学的过程中,教师要尽可能的提供真实的教学情景,在单元主题下创编活动进行教学。  2. 由于6B中的“一课”内涵较为丰富,老师应依据课时和学生的理解水平及兴趣在教学中对主题内容进行必要的补充和扩展,使这些知识与适当的学科知识整合,并在多种情景下得到再现和应用。  3. 重视听说教学的同时,加大课内外主题阅读量,侧重读写能力培养。主

要以培养阅读技能和篇章写作的方式展开,以激发学生阅读和写作的兴趣,培

一、 单元简介本单元主题为围绕在“我”身边的人的职业与工作内容等,是与我们

生活密切相联的一个主题,设置本单元的目的在于希望学生们在关注自我

的同时,把注意力转向更广阔的外部世界,关注、关心他人。对学生而言,

从自我、从身边做起是重要一环,而他们周围最熟悉、最亲密的人,莫过

于他们的家人和朋友。

1. 设计要点:在本单元的情境设计上,基本选择自然情境呈现的方式,以主人公

Billy和 Cathy谈话内容为线索,主要学习职业类单词和What does your/his/her

job ? I’m/He’s/she’s …句型,重点学会如何用英语表达自己和他人的职业。2.单元结构:本单元分别安排了以下 6个模块,1)Listen and say: What does your

mother do? 通过 Billy和 Cathy的对话来了解 Cathy一家的工作情况;2)Read

and learn: What do they do? Cathy详细介绍了她的爸爸、妈妈、叔叔、阿姨、

了六个不同类型的工作及工作内容,使学生们更加了解不同职业的魅力,开

亲戚朋友的职业后,使学生们对自己将来所要从事的行业有一个明确的构思;

5)Do and learn: How to make a photo frame. 此模块的手工活动是交同学们如

何做一个精致的相框;6)Sing and chant: The Finger Family. 这是一首充满爱

的歌曲,培养小学生们热爱家人、热爱朋友、勤做家务、互助友爱等品质。

1. 能听得懂、会说、会读和会写本单元所讲到的关于职业的名词及句型,并且

能听懂、会说和会读日常交际用语;2. 引导学生运用所学知识进行表达与交流,并把所学知识运用到日常生活中,

做到学以致用;3. 培养学生用英语主动表达,使之喜欢职业,有着表达个性的空间。4. 学生至少熟练掌握句型:What does your mother do? How does she go to work?

现一个同学家的场景及全家福。并做一简单介绍。教学活动 3:小组讨论然后让同学自由结合,每四人一小组坐在一起。讨论有关人物介绍方面的内

容。教师给每小组五分钟的讨论时间。教师要深入到学生中去,听同学们的讨

论。但教师不参与讨论。五分钟过后,教师鼓励同学积极发言,引导学生提出

do? 通过这一互动活动,教师可以以这些问题为契机,向学生介绍人物情况方

3.How to make a self-introduction? (One possible version)

Good morning!

It is really my honor to have this opportunity for a interview,

I hope I can make a good performance today. I'm confident that I can succeed.

Now i will introduce myself briefly

I am 26 years old, born in Shandong province.

I was graduated from Qingdao University. My major is electronic. And I got my

bachelor degree after my graduation in the year of 2003.

I spend most of my time on study; I have passed CET4/6. And I have acquired basic

knowledge of my major during my school time.

In July 2003, I begin work for a small private company as a technical support

一、 单元简介

这是一个关于时间的单元,时间的概念小学生已经学过了,对于六年级下

学期的学生来说并不新,但是如何使用英语来表达学生并不熟悉的事物,如何

处理这一矛盾呢?本单元借鉴了童话故事的做法,通过有趣的故事,贯穿了时

间的各种表达,同时通过童话故事告诉了学生许多关于时间的道理,比如珍惜

时间,守时,节约时间等等。这些都是本单元设置的初衷。从整体上看本单元

是关于人生(也是时间)这一深刻主题的思考,但是在童话故事里面并不沉重,

同时通过各个情节又引出了时间的各种表达。1.设计要点:本单元通过 Billy对时间没有概念,懒惰、不珍惜时间的态度引

出珍惜时间的重要性,及浪费时间的后果,培养学生珍惜时间、明白守时的重

要性并学会节约时间,从小懂得一寸光阴一寸金,寸金难买寸光阴的道理。2.单元结构:课文 Listen and say: What a boring day!基本上是现实的,在这里

timetable.,Billy交大家如何用 Excel制作一个时间表。最后是一首关于人生与

教学活动 2:用身体四肢来扮演中表时针表示时间让各组选派一名学生到讲台使用四肢当钟表指针,老师发出指令,这几名

同学开始指示出时间。做对了的可以为小组加分。教学活动 3:角色扮演 It’s time to get up

闹钟响了,该起床了。这里可以问同学们一般早上是几点起床的,根据不

同的回答来调节闹钟的时间,然后出现闹铃声音,这时候说 It’s time to get up.

It’s …(钟点)。可以设置平时上学时起床的时间,也可以扩展到周末起床时间,

以体现出平时和周末起床时间的不同,使同学们认识到不同的人起床时间不一

样,同一个人不同日子起床时间也不一样。教学活动 4:游戏老狼老狼几点了这里可以改变一下这个著名的游戏,可以把钟表拨到某一时间,然后大家

一起问 Old wolf, old wolf, what time is it now?然后让某一同学站起来用英语告诉

说出来。  塞翁有个独生子,非常喜欢骑马。他发现带回来的那匹马顾盼生姿,

身长蹄大,嘶鸣嘹亮,膘悍神骏,一看就知道是匹好马。他每天都骑马

出游,心中洋洋得意。  一天,他高兴得有些过火,打马飞奔,一个趔趄,从马背上跌下来,

摔断了腿。邻居听说,纷纷来慰问。  塞翁说:“没什么,腿摔断了却保住性命,或许是福气呢。”邻居

们觉得他又在胡言乱语。他们想不出,摔断腿会带来什么福气。不久,匈奴兵大举入侵,青年人被应征入伍,塞翁的儿子因为摔断

了腿,不能去当兵。入伍的青年都战死了,唯有塞翁的儿子保全了性命。

A Loss May Turn Out to Be a Gain

( 塞翁失马的另一版本)

Long ago, near the frontier l ived an old man. One day he found his

horse missing. It was said that the horse was seen running outside the

border of the country. The neighbors came to comfort him for the

unfortunate loss. But the old man was unexpectedly calm and said, "It

doesn't matter; i t may not be a bad event, on the contrary, I think it

can be a good one."

One night the old man heard some noise of horses and got up to see.

To his surprise, he saw another beautiful horse as well as his own. It

was clear that his horse had brought a companion home. Hearing the

news, the neighbors all came to say congratulation on his good luck.

At the greetings, however, the old man was very calm and thoughtful.

He added, "It is true that I got a new horse for nothing, but i t is hard

to say whether it is good or bad. It may be an unlucky thing."

What he said was testified right. The son of the old man was very

fond of the horse brought home, and one day, when he was riding the

horse, he fell down from the horseback and terribly hurt in his left

leg. Since then he was never able to walk freely. "Nothing serious,"

the old man said, "perhaps it is going to be good."

A year later, many of the youth there were recruited to fight in a war

and most of them died. The son of the old man was absolved from the

obligation for his disabili ty, so he escaped death.

The old story tells us that good and bad, disaster and happiness can be

converting objects to each other sometimes.

Chinese proverbs are rich and they are still widely used in Chinese people's daily

life. There are often stories behind Chinese proverbs. We will introduce one proverb,

'plucking up a crop to help it grow.' This Chinese proverb is based on the following

story.

It is said that a short tempered man in the Song Dynasty (960-1279)

was very anxious to hope his rice crop growing up quickly. He was

thinking about this day and night. But the crop was growing much

slower than he expected.

One day, he thought a solution to this. He plucked up all of his

crop a few inches.

Even though he was very tired after doing this for a whole day, but

he felt very happy since the crop did 'grow' higher.

China is well known for its Four Great Inventions. The inventions are

considered as great contributions to the developments and changes not only to the

country, but also to the world’s economy and culture.

The four great inventions of Ancient China were papermaking, printing,

gunpowder, and the compass.

Papermaking

Even before there was paper, the Ancient China already has its way of writing

down its characters by way of carving on pottery, stones and animal bones, on

bamboo or wooden strips and silk. They even cast their characters on bronzes.

However, these proved to be too heavy or too expensive for the Chinese to use in

corresponding with others. Hence, paper was invented.

Proper paper was first discovered in Gansu Province. It was a proof that from

the time of the Western Han Dynasty, the Chinese already used paper. But it was

Cai Lun who invented a more developed art of papermaking using plant fibers as

raw materials. The first batch made, which was supervised by Cai Lun himself,

was presented to the Han Emperor in 105 AD, which so delighted the Emperor

that he named the material as “Marqui Cai’s paper”.

This very important invention paved the way for other writing materials to

emerge, as well as provide the means for the invention of commercial printing

later on.

Printing

It was Bi Sheng who first introduced movable type printing in the 1040’s,

which was considered as the major force in the history of commercial printing. Bi

Sheng used squares of clay where he curved individual Chinese characters. Later

on, other types of printing such as wood, copper and lead evolved from this clay

type movable printing. However, this significant invention did not make a great

impact compared to the way Gutenberg’s moveable type revolutionized the

Western world. It was due to the fact that the individual characters used were so

many, while the English language only needs 26 characters. It was much easier to

manipulate the latter on a printing press than the 3000-5000 Chinese characters.

Nevertheless, commercial printing in Ancient China changed the way people

reproduced their printed materials.

Gunpowder and compass

The other two great inventions were gunpowder and the compass. The Chinese

demonstrated their invention of gunpowder in the 18th century AD when it was

used by the army of the Song Dynasty. By combining sulfur, charcoal and

potassium nitrate, the Chinese found a way to develop new weapons, including

rockets launched from bamboo tubes.

Compass

On the other hand, the compass was widely used in Ancient China for

navigational purposes. The Chinese found out that natural magnets are abundant,

and that by making magnets, they were able to align the pieces in a North/South

position. The magnets were then placed in a bowl of water with directional

bearings.

2. 算盘简介A Brief Introduction to the Abacus

The abacus is a mechanical aid used for counting; it is not a calculator in the sense

we use in the world today . The standard abacus can be used to perform addition,

subtraction, division and multiplication; the abacus can also be used to extract square-

roots and cubic roots.

The abacus is typically constructed of various types of hardwoods and comes in

varying sizes. The frame of the abacus has a series of vertical rods on which a number

of wooden beads are allowed to slide freely. A horizontal beam separates the frame

into two sections, known as the upper deck and the lower deck.

Abacus Parts: The various parts of the abacus are identified here: the frame, the

beam, the beads and rods and the upper and lower decks.

Proper finger technique is paramount in achieving proficiency on the abacus. With

a Chinese abacus, the thumb and the index finger together with the middle finger are

used to manipulate the beads. Beads in lower deck are moved up with the thumb and

down with the index finger. In certain calculations, the middle finger is used to move

beads in the upper deck.

The abacus is still in use today by shopkeepers in Asia and "Chinatowns" in North

America. The use of the abacus is still taught in Asian schools, and some few schools

in the West. Blind children are taught to use the abacus where their sighted

counterparts would be taught to use paper and pencil to perform calculations.

One particular use for the abacus is teaching children simple mathematics and

especially multiplication; the abacus is an excellent substitute for rote memorization

of multiplication tables, a particularly detestable task for young children. The abacus

is also an excellent tool for teaching other base numbering systems since it easily

adapts itself to any base.

The enduring interest in this ancient device is evident by ever increasing number of

visitors to these pages from all around the world.

3. 雨伞简介 The umbrella was invented over four thousand years ago. We have seen evidence

of umbrellas in the ancient art and artifacts of Egypt, Assyria, Greece, and China.

These ancient umbrellas or parasols, were first designed to provide shade from the

sun. The Chinese were the first to waterproof their umbrellas for use as rain

protection. They waxed and lacquered their paper parasols in order to use them for

rain.

The word "umbrella" comes from the Latin root word "umbra", meaning shade or

shadow. Starting in the 16th century umbrella became popular to the western world,

especially in the rainy weather of northern Europe. At first it was considered only an

accessory suitable for women. Then the Persian traveler and writer, Jonas Hanway

(1712-1786), carried and used an umbrella publicly in England for thirty years, and he

popularized umbrella use among men. English gentleman often referred to their

umbrellas as a "Hanway."

The first all umbrella shop was called "James Smith and Sons". The shop opened in

1830, and is still located at 53 New Oxford St., in London, England.

The early European umbrellas were made of wood or whalebone and covered with

alpaca or oiled canvas. The artisans made the curved handles for the umbrellas out of

hard woods like ebony, and were well paid for their efforts.

In 1852, Samuel Fox invented the steel ribbed umbrella design. Fox also founded

the "English Steels Company", and claimed to have invented the steel ribbed umbrella

as a way of using up stocks of farthingale stays, steel stays used in women's corsets.

African-American, inventor, William C. Carter patented an umbrella stand (see image

1) on August the 8th, 1885. After that, compact collapsible umbrellas were the next

major technical innovation in umbrella manufacture, over a century later.

4.中国古代的足球-蹴鞠Ancient Chinese Football

most remote corners of the globe, becoming one of the hottest topics of the day.

About 2,500 years ago in China there was a similar game called "Cuju", which,

according to the International Football Association, was the origin of football as a

sport.

"Cu" ("to kick") and "ju" (a type of leather ball filled with feathers) became popular

during the Warring States Period (476-221BC). Back then, cuju was used to train

military cavaliers due to the fierce nature of the sport.

During the Han Dynasty (206BC-AD220), the popularity of cuju gradually spread

from the army to the royal courts and upper classes. It is said that the Han emperor

Wu Di enjoyed the sport. At the same time, cuju games were standardized as rules

were established. Football matches were often held inside the imperial palace. A type

of court called "ju" cheng was built especially for cuju matches, with six crescent-

shaped goal posts at each end.

The sport was improved during the Tang Dynasty (618-907). First of all, the

feather-stuffed ball was replaced by an air-filled ball with a two-layered hull. Also,

two different types of goal posts emerged: One was made by setting up posts with a

net between them and the other consisted of just one goal post in the middle of the

field. The level of female cuju teams also improved. Records indicate that once a 17-

year-old girl beat a team of army soldiers.

Cuju flourished during the Song Dynasty (960-1279) due to social and economic

development, extending its popularity to every class in society -- from the emperor to

ordinary civilians. At that time, professional cuju players were quite popular, and the

sport began to take on a commercial edge. Professional cuju players fell into two

groups: One was trained by and performed for the royal court (unearthed copper

mirrors and brush pots from the Song often depict professional performances) and the

other consisted of civilians who made a living as cuju players.

The kite was invented roughly 2,500 to 3,000 years ago. It originated in China,

Malaysia or Indonesia (there are many claims to having invented the kite). Some

people say that the earliest kites consisted of a huge leaf attached to a long string

(there is a type of Indonesian leaf that is wonderful as a kite).

SILK

Silk was first made by the Chinese about 4,000 years ago. Silk thread is made

from the cocoon of the silkworm moth ( Bombyx mori ) , a small moth whose caterpillar

eats the leaves of the mulberry tree.

According to Chinese legend, the first silk thread was made when the Chinese

Empress Si-Ling-Chi was sitting under a mulberry tree and a cocoon fell into her tea;

she noticed the strong, silky threads of the cocoon uncoiling. She then developed the

use of silk.

教学活动 6:Who is lying?

教师准备一些本课发明的有关图片,可以展示在课件上;还有一些小纸条

写着一些真实的事实和一些虚假的信息,同一事实的真假描述分成两部份,然

后把一部分的纸条装在一个大箱子里,放在讲台上,让一些同学上来抽取并读

出;而另一部分的纸条则分派给一些同学。比如:教师请出一个同学 Billy出来

讲台抽取纸条并读出:Television was invented by John Baird. 此时另外拿到与其

相对应的纸条的一个同学 Lily就要站出来说 : No, you are wrong. Television is

invented by Johnson Baird. 然后教师可以问同学们:Who is lying? 同学们根据对

课文的认识来判断谁在撒谎,然后回答:Lily is lying! 那么 Lily就要说:Sorry, I

am lying.相反,如果同学们抓错了说谎者,教师就要帮助改正。对于那些程度和水平较低的班,教师可以不必把两部份纸条分开,每次让

两位同学上来,分别读出一真一假的句子。比如 Television was invented by John

John Baird is remembered as the inventor of mechanical television, radar and fiber

optics. Successfully tested in a laboratory in late 1925 and unveiled with much fanfare

in London in early 1926, mechanical television technology was quickly usurped by

electronic television, the basis of modern video technology. Nonetheless, John Logie

Baird's achievements, including making the first trans-Atlantic television

transmission, were singular and critical scientific accomplishments. Lonely, driven,

tireless and often poor, the native Scot defined the pioneering spirit of scientific

inquiry.

3.电话发明者――Alexander Graham Bell

As a teacher of the deaf, Bell was determined to help deaf people speak, so that

they could take part in the speaking world, rather than be isolated and alone. To do

this, he tried to find a way to make sound visible. Bell got his idea for making sound

visible from his knowledge of how the ear hears.

As a young man, Alexander Graham Bell taught deaf students in schools and

universities and tutored them privately to help them communicate. Bell attempted to

simulate the hearing process by tinkering with an invention called the

photoautotroph. As he was working on the photoautotroph the idea for the telephone

suddenly occurred to him. Later, Bell and his brothers made a model skull and fitted

it with a reproduction of human vocal apparatus that was worked with a bellows.

They were able to make their model wail "Ma-ma" in such a life-like imitation of a

baby that the neighbors turned out to search for the child in distress.

At about this time, Graham trained his Skye terrier to growl steadily while he

manipulated the dog's mouth and vocal cords, trying to shape the growls into words.

At the peak of the terrier's career, it was able (with its master's help) to say "Ow ah

oo, ga-ma-ma," meaning, "How are you grandmother?" This invention, of course, is

the telephone. Bell's first phone worked very much like his photoautotroph, with a

few technical improvements. Bell was able to take these everyday household items

and turn them into the first telephone. Needles, water, cups, wire...how did this stuff

transmit sound? Bell's first telephone patent was issued on March 7, 1876. Three

days later, in Boston, the telephone carried its first intelligible sentence. There are

149,084,370 telephone lines in the world, with thousands more being added every

day. It's a lot to keep track of...concentration is essential.

4.电灯发明者――Thomas Alva Edison

Thomas Alva Edison is an American inventor, whose development of a practical

electric light bulb, electric generating system, sound-recording device, and motion

picture projector had profound effects on the shaping of modern society.

Edison was born in Milan, Ohio, on Feb. 11, 1847. He attended school for only

three months, in Port Huron, Mich. When he was 12 years old he began selling

newspapers on the Grand Trunk Railway, devoting his spare time mainly to

experimentation with printing presses and with electrical and mechanical apparatus.

In 1862 he published a weekly, known as the Grand Trunk Herald, printing it in a

freight car that also served as his laboratory. For saving the life of a station official’s

child, he was rewarded by being taught telegraphy. While working as a telegraph

operator, he made his first important invention, a telegraphic repeating instrument

that enabled messages to be transmitted automatically over a second line without the

presence of an operator.

Edison next secured employment in Boston and devoted all his spare time there to

research. He invented a vote recorder that, although possessing many merits, was not

sufficiently practical to warrant its adoption. He also devised and partly completed a

stock-quotation printer.

In 1877 Edison announced his invention of a phonograph by which sound could

be recorded mechanically on a tinfoil cylinder. 1879 Two years later he exhibited

publicly his incandescent electric light bulb, his most important invention and the

one requiring the most careful research and experimentation to perfect. This new

light was a remarkable success; Edison promptly occupied himself with the

improvement of the bulbs and of the dynamos for generating the necessary electric

current.

5. 有关电脑发明者的争议 Almost all home computer or textbook case of popular science books are : the birth

of the world's first computer at the University of Pennsylvania in the United States.

That was in 1946 by the creation of Mao called ENIAC Krishna (Eniac), a machine.

2.旋转视力表

  在普通的视力表上,符号的位置是固定的。这样容易有人靠背出各个符号

而导致视力检查结果不可靠。我设计制作的“可转动的视力表”,可有效防止

这种漏洞。这个视力表结构是把视力表安装在一个可转动的内轴上。外面罩上

不透明的固定外壳,外壳上开有小窗。转动内轴,外壳的窗口上就会出现随时

变化的视力检查符号。用这样的视力表检查视力,很难作弊,结果就比较可靠

 高楼居民擦玻璃窗有相当的危险性,因此我设计了一架感应式擦窗机。它用

4.脚踏式拖把绞干器

  我设计制作的脚踏式拖把绞干器,利用简单机械杠杆原理,用铁板做成。

  它以脚踏代替手拧的方法,把湿拖把绞干,达到了省力、卫生的目的(结

构如图所示)。

  使用时,张开绞干器的咬合面,把拖把夹在两片铁板之间,手持拖把柄,

用脚踏绞干器的踏板,利用杠杆原理和重力作用,咬合面即能自然合拢挤压拖

把,拖把被挤干了。

  若在脚踏同时转动拖把柄,则更易绞干拖把。该作品制作简单,造价低,
