VACUETTECoagulation VACUETTESerum VACUETTE Plasma
These tubes are used for deter-minations in citrated plasma forcoagulation testing. The bufferedsodium c i trate solu t ion 3 .2%(0.109mol/l) functions as anticoagulantby chelating calcium. The proportionof blood to sodium citrate anticoagulantvolume is 9:1.
Serum Tubes are used for deter-minations in serum for clinicalchemistry, microbiological serology, immunology and TDM. The tubes arecoated with a clot activator. Therecommended clotting time is 30minutes. Serum Gel Tubes allowstorage of certain parameters underthe recommended storage conditionsfor up to 48 hours.
The tubes are used for determinationsin plasma for clinical chemistry. Theheparin concentration is standardised:18 I .U. of l ithium-, sodium- orammonium salt of heparin per 1 ml.Plasma Gel Tubes allow storage ofcertain parameters under therecommended storage conditions forup to 48 hours.

EDTA Tubes are used for deter-minations in EDTA whole blood for
h a e m a t o l o g y a n d i m m u n ohaematology. The tube interior of EDTAK3 Tubes is spray dried with 1.8mganhydrous EDTA per 1 ml blood.
Glucose Tubes are used for the analysisof blood sugar and lactate in stabilised
whole blood or plasma. Sodium fluorideis used as glycolysis inhibitor topreserve glucose when combined withan anticoagulant such as potassiumoxalate or EDTA.
Sodium c i trate solu t ion 3 .2%(0.109mol/l) is the anticoagulant of
choice for the measurement of the ESR.The proportion of blood to sodiumcitrate anticoagulant volume is 4:1.

Specimen Collection System Leading technology for higher demands
The invention of the world`s first evacuated bloodcollection system made out of PET plastic by GreinerBio-One has made specimen collection a lot safer. The innovative VACUETTE system guarantees simplehandling and hygiene in order to makeyour daily workeasier.
The VACUETTE system combines the advantages ofvacuum technology with unique safety characteristics fothe patient and the user.
Specification>> clear as glassbutvirtually unbreakable
>> colour coded screw caps formore safety
>> colour coded rings offer additionalvisualidentification of tubes
>> wide range of PET tubes with differentadditives anddraw volumes
>> compatible with all common analyser systems
Safety
>> unbreakable during centrifugation, handling
and transportation
>> allVACUETTEtubes are sterile
>> reproducibilityisguaranteed
>> fast & reliabletest results
>> VACUETTESandwich tubewith patented doublewall technology; the perfect solution (NCCLSrecommendation) for coagulation tests
>> incineration ofVACUETTE tubes are harmless forthe environment and incineration products aremainly water (H2O) and carbon dioxide (CO2)
Standards>> VACUETTE products are US FDA approved
>> manufacturing complies to EC directives andUS regulations (ISO 9001, GMP)
Instruction for use Short discription
Apply tourniquet (max. 1 minute)Prepare venipuncture site with anappropriate antiseptic.
Remove needle shield. Performvenipuncture with arm in downwardposition, with the tube cap upper-most.
Push tube into the holder. REMOVETOURNIQUET AS SOON ASBLOOD APPEARS IN TUBE. Ensurecomplete vacuum draw.
Gently invert the tubes 5-10 times(exceptions: coagulation tubes -invert 4 times; EDTA tubes - invert 8-10 times) immediately after bloodcollection to reach a proper mix ofadditive and blood.
Dispose of the used needle with holderusing an appropriate disposal device.
