All, On behalf of the Central Pennsylvania Chinese Association, I would like to wish you a Happy New Year! I am very grateful to have the opportunity to serve the Chinese community in central Pennsylvania in the past year. I would like to thank you for all of your support and trust. During this year, together we have hosted and participated the following events: Seminar: Life of Cruise Tour China Day（East Hall of Capitol ） Dragon Boat Festival Picnic Welcome New Students at Penn State

Harrisburg Food Bank Volunteer Clean Highway G2G (twice) Moon Festival Picnic Hiking in Ricketts Glen State Park

We are going to celebrate the Year of the Dog on February 17, 2018 at the First Church of God in Mechanicsburg. You are cordially invited to the celebration. I would like to extend my special thanks to all the groups and individuals who will be participating in the New Year's program. It is your contribution to make this festival a success. Finally, I wish you a healthy and happy Year of the Dog!

Notes: The seats for the banquet are limited to the first four hundred registered guests. Please register as early as possible. Late registration will be accepted if seating is still available. Late fee will be applied. NO WALK-IN REGISTRATIONS. The Children Activities is for ages 6 and above. The fee for color advertisement in the Chinese New Year brochure is as follows:

會員動態 Member Information

On October 24, 2017, the Sunshine Dance Club celebrated its 10th anniversary at the Royal Buffet & Grill in Harrisburg, PA. Over twenty current and past members and their families along with many Sunshine supporters and fans attended the event. The celebration started with a Chinese classical dance of Han and Dang Dynasty presented by the club members. The representatives from the local organizations including CPCA, Cumberland High School, Penn State Harrisburg and the Life Gospel Chinese Christian Church Congratulated Sunshine on reaching this milestone and thanked Sunshine for their performances at their cultural events. The Lancaster Chinese Dance Club brought a beautiful dance to share at the celebration as well. During the event, the club members and audience watched the videos of the past performances of the club. In the past 10 years, Sunshine has performed at over 100 culture events organized by the local government agencies, colleges and schools, and business entities. On December 16th, 2017, Little Star's students, parents, teachers, volunteers, supporters and friends gathered at the Community Center of the First Church of God in Mechanicsburg to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Little Star Chinese Language School. Every class exhibited their excellent work from class. The celebration began with a "Happy birthday" song sung by the Little Star Choir. The show started with a traditional Chinese folk dance presented by 25 Little Star students. Mrs. Yijin Wert, Chairman of Board, welcomed and thanked everyone for attending and their long term support, especially the Harrisburg Chinese Alliance Church who has provided the facility to Little Star since 2002. She highlighted all the achievements of Little Star in the past 20 years. Mrs. Wert also recognized the successful leadership of the school board and the school administration committee. A special award was presented to Mrs. Judy Guo for her 20 years of outstanding services to Little Star as a teacher and a principal. Awards also were presented to three outstanding volunteers - Mr. Lin Guo, Dr. Yuefeng Xie and Mr. John Zhong. Roses were presented to the families who made financial contributions to Little Star. (Little Star is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. Any donations to Little Star are tax deductable.) Nearly 30 Little Star teachers were recognized for their commitment and years of services to Little Star. The principal issued certificates to the students with perfect attendance and the students who have been with Little Star for five or more years. The graduates from Little Star delivered speeches on their experiences with Little Star. Local community leaders from the Harrisburg Chinese Alliance Church, CPCA, the Life Gospel Chinese Christian Church and the Chinese American Professors and Professionals of PA congratulated Little Star's success in the past 20 years and showed their support to Little Star's future. The show included a singing performance from the Kindergarten Class and Level 1 Class, a classical poem recital from the Classical Reading Class, a Dun Huang Dance from the Senior Dance Class, and a Lion Dance by Jason Guo (graduate) and Tiffany Lu. At the end, the Little Star students and teachers were singing together a song written by the Little Star Singing Teacher Annie Lu - the Song of the "Little Star".
