BC Place Stadium Canadas's first domed stadium will serve as the site for both the

Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.The stadium,

completed in 1983, was built for Expo 86. It is the world's largest air-supported domed

stadium and can seat 60,000 in its mixture of permanent and portable light-blue plastic

seats.

Vancouver Aquarium Beluga whales, sea otters, sharks,sea lions, birds, snakes and 600 other amazing kinds of

animals. The Vancouver Aquarium has become the largest

Capilano Suspension Bridge Capilano Suspension

Bridge is in North Vancouver, British Columbia

crossing the Capilano River. The current bridge is 450

feet across and 230 feet above the river. The Capilano

Suspension Bridge and Park draws over 800,000 visitors

a year. As well as the bridge itself and TreetopsAdventure, the park also features award-winning

gardens, nature trails, North America's largest private collection of First Nations story poles, a gift shop, a cafe and a

burger grill, a multimedia display about the park's history, and an educational exhibit about the temperate Rainforest.



Bryan Adams Bryan Adams, (born 5 November 1959) is a Canadian singer, guitarist

and songwriter. Adams is a Member of the Order of Canada and the Order of British

Columbia for his contribution to popular music. In 1998 he was promoted to an Officer

of the Order of Canada for his philanthropic work. He was also inducted into Canada's

Walk of Fame in 1990, and is to be given the Hall of Fame Award at Canada's Junoawards this April 2006. He has been nominated for three Academy Awards.

Emily Carr Emily Carr 1871 Was born in Victoria, British

Columbia. She was a painter and writer most heavily

influenced by the landscape and First Nations cultures of

British Columbia, and Alaska. Emily Carr Institute of Art

and Design, Emily Carr Elementary School in Vancouver,

British Columbia, Emily Carr Middle School in Ottawa,Ontario and Emily Carr Public School in London, Ontario

are named after her. Emily Carr is buried in the Ross Bay

Cemetery in Victoria.

Squamish Nation The Squamish First Nation are a major Salishan-speaking people of

southwestern British Columbia. Their main reserves are near the town of Squamish,

British Columbia and at the mouths of the Capilano River, Mosquito Creek , and

Seymour Creek in the Burrard Inlet in North Vancouver, British Columbia. Both

Squamish and Lil'wat are co-hosts of the 2010 Olympic Games. "Squamish" is the

Steveston Village Steveston village was a historic salmoncanning centre at the mouth of the south arm of the Fraser

River. It is located on the southwest tip of Lulu island, the

large majority of which is within the boundaries of the cityof Richmond. The village is named for Manoah Steves,

who arrived with his family in 1878. Steves' son Herbert

actually developed the townsite, which became Steveston in

1889. Salmon canning began on the river in 1871; by the

1890s there were 45 canneries, about half at Steveston.
