Research towards a new titleAfter meeting up with our teacher we have learnt about LBGT.- We had to research on the “new” term “LGBT community “- It helped us to understand that they would find offensive to be called homosexuals

LGBT - refers to "lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender" people

• Before the sexual revolution of the 1960s, they didn’t know how to call the non-heterosexuality; so in that

time the closest term they could find was, "third gender“

• The term “homosexual” were first used in 1950s, this term had a negative

connotations, and tended to be replaced by homophile. Then in the

1970s the term gay and lesbian became more used and accepted.

• People started to use the term LGBT in 1988 in United of States, but not until the 1990s did it become common to speak of gay, lesbian, bisexual and

transgender people with equal respect within the movement.

This is a documentary that talks about the struggle that Nepal people have to go

through because they choose to be LGBT Nepal's Third Gender

• This is a page on Facebook a social network that shows

events, meeting, photos and updates on what happens throughout every month.

• This page is specific for the area of BARNET but they

have one for each borough of London which shows us

that the LGBT Community is wide spread-out.

After learning the term “LGBT” we got curious to know if people knew what does this term stands for. Therefore we went to the roads of

London to ask people….

didn’t know what LGBT stands for:

It’s also interesting to know that nearly all of out target audience don’t know about LGBT so our documentary will be very informative to them.

This table shows very well when the United Kingdom accepted LGBT. However its important to state that not longer ago (2005)

homosexuals were not recognised, and they count have relationships.

Countries that accept LGBTHere is a research of some countries that accept LGBT. However some countries didn’t want to support and accept marriages and relationships, but now it’s a human right to

be free to practise your sexuality.

What have we learned:- Now we know what LGBT stands for- We realised that not everyone know about the LGBT community - We also know countries that accept marriages, relationships etc- We didn’t know that not longer ago LGBT wasn’t accepted

• And now everything that we learned will help us to develop ideas for our documentary.
