Too much water spra% will produce ecessi.e steam that will reduce the .isi+ilit% around the

scene and also increase water damage

'enerall% water spra% is +etter than water =et "or "ighting "ire) as the spra% o" water is eas% to

.apori*e and remo.e the heat 4ater spra% should +e made +% using spra% no**les

 

$3 Re.oving 4ygen

O%gen can +e remo.ed either smothering with an inert gas such as #O2 or alon or +%

cutting o"" the suppl% o" o%gen +% smothering 7ie $oam8 4ith these methods howe.er) it

is .er% di""icult to determine whether the "ire has +een etinguished and there are

 possi+ilities o" re-ignition when "resh air is introduced +ecause o" the heat remaining in the

scene Thus the "ire *one and +oundar% area should +e cooled well +e"ore entering the *one
