作為本地區一年一度的音樂盛事，澳門國際音樂節歷年來

一直以嚴謹專業的態度、放眼國際的開闊視野，以及追求

美善的人文胸懷，為本地區市民及廣大觀眾帶來各式精彩

的音樂節目，至今已經成為亞洲地區備受矚目的文化盛會。

《第二十四屆澳門國際音樂節》秉持多年來的優良傳統：

“引領審美，成就一流品位；滿足需要，堅持藝術多元；

立足澳門，彰顯本土特色”，將為海內外音樂愛好者呈獻

二十二項精心安排的高質素節目。屆時，全球十多個不同

國家地區的頂尖樂團及樂界巨星聚首濠江，濟濟一堂且作

傾情獻演。我們彷彿預見“熠熠生輝、光彩奪目”的盛會

情景，實在令人心神振奮。

澳門國際音樂節

本屆節目包括了意大利歌劇大師威爾第的皇牌劇目、德國

科隆愛樂樂團帶來的大型交響樂章、粵劇精英的中國戲

曲、難得一聞的內蒙古草原之聲，以及各式各樣的重奏、

合唱、流行電子樂、戶外爵士樂和室內樂表演等，異彩紛

呈，各具特色。此外，還有本地兩大樂團精心策劃的音樂

會，彰顯本地特色，展示地區力量。同時，今年是偉大作

曲家蕭邦誕辰二百周年紀念，我們特別邀請了被公認為最

為善於奏出蕭邦樂曲精髓的“鋼琴王子”李雲迪來澳獻

藝，時機難逢，意義非凡。此外，還有古典浪漫主義作品

的指揮名家馬庫斯．史坦茲、優秀鋼琴家奧利弗．特林

德、華裔大提琴家王健等，也將在本屆音樂節上獻技，增

添光彩。

十月，正值金秋之際，歡迎大家一起點亮美妙的音樂之

燈，使蓮花小島散發璀璨的藝術光彩，好讓每個人的心神

O Festival Internacional de Música de Macau, um evento

musical anual, dedica-se a apresentar uma variedade de

programas musicais aos residentes de Macau e a visitantes

seu espírito aberto, globalizante e humanista visa os mais

elevados valores estéticos e artísticos. O evento constitui

O Festival tem sido bem sucedido na manutenção de uma

tradição de excelência no seu quase quarto de século de

existência, através de uma infatigável insistência no mérito,

na educação e na diversidade artística, preocupando-se

em agradar aos gostos variados do público e em preservar

os sabores locais, honrando a riqueza fértil do panorama

artístico local. O XXIV Festival Internacional de Música

de Macau apresenta um total de 22 programas de alta

qualidade, incluindo espectáculos apaixonantes por grupos

de destaque e estrelas do firmamento musical, provenientes

de cerca de uma dúzia de países e regiões de todo o mundo.

O Festival inclui uma vibrante encenação de uma ópera

adorada do famoso compositor italiano Giuseppe Verdi,

Il Trovatore, um concerto sinfónico de grande escala pela

Orquestra Gürzenich de Colónia, óperas cantonenses

representadas por actores célebres de Hong Kong,

um coro juvenil da Mongólia Interior, assim como uma

variedade de concertos de música de câmara, coral,

electrónica, pop e jazz. Inclui ainda serões de música

clássica e pop especialmente concebidos pelas nossas

duas principais orquestras, agrupamentos que expressam

as mais evocativas características do território.

O ano de 2010 marca o 200º aniversário da morte do grande

compositor polaco Fryderyc Chopin. Assim, o Festival

convidou o “Príncipe do Piano”, Yundi Li, para actuar

nesta ocasião especial. Amplamente conhecido como um

dos melhores intérpretes do espírito musical de Chopin,

este premiado pianista chinês constituirá certamente o

ponto culminante do evento. Outros artistas dignos de

nota que participam no Festival incluem Markus Stenz, um

maestro especialista em música do Período Romântico,

o notável pianista alemão Oliver Triendl e o célebre

violoncelista chinês Jian Wang.

Neste Outono, convidamos o estimado público a

desfrutar desta rica diversidade musical que, estamos

SOBRE O XXIV FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DE MÚSICA DE MACAU

As one of humanity’s most spiritual creations, Music has the power to

imbue people with sensations that transcend nationality and language.

An annual musical event in the region, the Macao International Music

Festival is dedicated to presenting a variety of musical programmes

to the residents of Macao and audiences from all four corners of the

globe. It does so while strictly adhering to international production

standards of professionalism and precision. Its open-minded vision

is at once global and humanistic, seeking out the highest aesthetics

and artistic values. This event ranks currently as one of the most

noteworthy cultural feasts in all of Asia.

The Festival has succeeded in maintaining a tradition for excellence

along the near quarter century of its existence, with an unflagging

insistence on aesthetic merit, to cater for the cultured, on artistic

diversity, to cater for the varied tastes of the public, and on the

preservation of local flavour, to honour the richness of Macao’s

own fertile arts scene. The 24th Macao International Music Festival

will present a total of 22 high quality programmes and passionate

performances by leading troupes and superstars in the musical

firmament from a dozen countries and regions around the world.

The upcoming Festival features a vibrant staging of a beloved work

from the renowned Italian opera composer Giuseppe Verdi, Il Trovatore,

a large-scale symphonic concert performed by Germany’s Gürzenich

Orchestra Cologne, Cantonese operas performed by famous actors

from Hong Kong, a youth choir from Inner Mongolia plus a wide variety

of performances in genres such as choral, electronic, jazz and chamber

music. Additional concerts include evenings of classical and pop

music specially designed by our two major local orchestras, groups

capable of expressing the most evocative features of the region.

As the year 2010 marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of the great

Polish composer Fryderyc Chopin, the Festival has invited the ‘Prince

of the Piano’, Yundi Li, to perform for this special occasion. Widely

recognised as one of the best interpreters of Chopin’s musical spirit,

this award-winning Chinese pianist is bound to be the climax of this

year’s Festival. Other artists of note on the Festival programme include

Markus Stenz, a conductor specialised in music of the Romantic

period, the outstanding German pianist Oliver Triendl and celebrated

Chinese cellist Jian Wang.

This autumn, we sincerely invite the esteemed public to enjoy the

diversity of this rich musical experience, a true feast for all ears.

德國科隆愛樂樂團成立於1827年，其起源最早可追溯到

十五世紀在大教堂演奏，早年因得到著名音樂家門德爾松

的執棒而享譽國際。曾為樂團執棒及隨之登台獻藝的音樂

大師不計其數，包括柏遼茲、威爾第及瓦格納等。樂團

首演過的傳世佳作包括勃拉姆斯的《二重奏協奏曲》、

馬勒的《第五交響曲》等。

首席指揮和音樂總監，馬庫斯．史坦茲被認為是古典浪漫

A Orquestra Gürzenich de Colónia surgiu em 1827,

quando um grupo de burgueses patrocinou a criação da

“Kölner Concert-Gesellschaft” (Sociedade de Concertos

de Colónia) para organizar “Gesellschaftskonzerte”

(concertos da sociedade). A partir de 1857, estes

concertos passaram a ter lugar numa sala de concertos

denominada Gürzenich – daí o nome da Orquestra – onde

numerosas obras foram estreadas, incluindo o Duplo

Concerto de Brahms e a 5ª Sinfonia de Mahler. Em 1986,

a Orquestra passou a residir na Kölner Philharmonie. A

Orquestra participa também em produções operáticas na

Ópera de Colónia.

The Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne traces its origins to 1827, when

a group of Cologne’s citizens sponsored the creation of the Kölner

Concert-Gesellschaft (Cologne Concert Society) in order to present

Gesellschaftskonzerte (Society concerts). From 1857 on, these

concerts took place in a hall named the Gürzenich, which became the

orchestra’s namesake. The time-honoured hall would later host the

world premieres of numerous famous works including Brahms’

Double Concerto and Mahler’s 5th Symphony. In 1986, the orchestra

took up residence at the Kölner Philharmonie. It also performs in

operatic productions at the Cologne Opera.

O ano de 2010 marca o 200º aniversário do nascimento

de um dos mais notáveis pianistas e compositores da

história da música, Fryderyk Chopin. Para celebrar este

evento, o FIMM convidou o internacionalmente aclamado

jovem pianista chinês Yundi Li a dar um recital dedicado

ao compositor polaco. Yundi Li é o mais jovem vencedor do

prestigiado Concurso Internacional de Piano Chopin e o

primeiro pianista em 15 anos a receber o cobiçado prémio,

assim como o primeiro vencedor chinês. Li espantou o

mundo com a sua fluidez nas teclas e a sua magistral

interpretação de Chopin, o compositor que mais aprecia.

Um concerto a não perder!

誕生於波蘭的作曲家蕭邦有“鋼琴詩人”的稱號，畢生

致力於寫鋼琴音樂，是音樂史上唯一僅以鋼琴作品擠身偉

大作曲家行列的大師。蕭邦的作品大多柔和抒情、極富

詩意，夜曲是他最突出的代表作。

憑藉精湛的演奏技巧及對蕭邦音樂的透徹理解，李雲迪

十年前勇奪蕭邦國際鋼琴大賽首獎，聲名鵲起，更被冠以

“鋼琴王子”的稱號。今年是蕭邦誕辰二百周年，為表彰

Um dos mais importantes quartetos de cordas dos

nossos dias, o Quarteto Henschel tem tido uma carreira

internacional impressionante, recebendo a aclamação

constante da crítica. Os membros do Quarteto, nos seus

anos intensivos de estudo com Felix Andrievsky, Thorleif

Thedeen, Sergiu Celibidache, Franz Beyer, Quarteto

Amadeus e, mais tarde, com membros dos Quartetos

Alban Berg e La Salle, foram confrontados com os mais

elevados padrões internacionais. Receberam também

formação dos músicos lendários Louis Krasner e Eugene

Lehner, os quais trabalharam de perto com compositores

como Béla Bartók e Arnold Schönberg e que ministraram

ao Quarteto conhecimentos únicos sobre obras da

Segunda Escola de Viena.

One of today’s leading string quartets, the Henschel Quartet have

been leading an impressive international career and receiving constant

critical acclaim. The members of the Quartet – in their intensive years

of study with Felix Andrievsky, Thorleif Thedeen, Sergiu Celibidache,

Franz Beyer, the Amadeus Quartet and later with members of the

Alban Berg and La Salle Quartets – were confronted with the highest

international standards. They were also coached by the legendary

musicians Louis Krasner and Eugene Lehner, who had themselves

worked with composers such as Béla Bartók and Arnold Schönberg,

and who gave the quartet unique insights into the works of the Second

Viennese School.

In 1995 the Henschel Quartet won no less than five prizes at

International String Quartet competitions in Evian, Banff and Salzburg

for the best interpretation of works by composers ranging from Mozart

to contemporary authors. In 1996 they won the first prize and gold

medal at the coveted Osaka International String Competition. They

were quartet in residence at both the Aldeburgh Festival (1994) and the

Tanglewood Music Festival (1995/1996).

Em 1995, o Quarteto Henschel ganhou nada mais nada

menos que cinco prémios em concursos internacionais de

quartetos de cordas, em Evian, Banff e Salzburgo para a

melhor interpretação de obras que vão de Mozart a obras de

compositores contemporâneos. Em 1996, ganhou a Medalha

de Ouro no cobiçado Concurso Internacional de Cordas

de Osaka. Foi quarteto residente no Festival de Aldeburgh

(1994) e Festival de Música Tanglewood (1995/1996).

Os Singphoniker são seis personalidades musicais que se

reinventam, complementam e inspiram constantemente,

a fim de realizar actuações excepcionais. A sua

autenticidade distinta, devoção à música e alegria de

cantar são transmitidas directamente ao seu público.

Dominam a arte de apresentar conteúdos musicais

ricos com ligeireza e à vontade e de conferir sentido ao

aparentemente simples. O agrupamento consiste, já quase

há 30 anos, em cinco cantores e um pianista que também

contribui vocalmente. É intrigante como combinam o

espírito de ensemble e a individualidade artística para

formar um som homogéneo da mais elevada qualidade.

The Singphoniker are six musical personalities who constantly re-

invent themselves and complement and inspire one another in order

to achieve outstanding performances. Their distinctive authenticity,

devotion to music and joy in singing are carried over directly to their

audiences. They have mastered the art of presenting rich musical

content with lightness and ease, as well as the art of providing meaning

to the seemingly simple. The ensemble, for almost 30 years now, has

consisted of five singers and a pianist who also contributes vocally. It

is intriguing how they combine ensemble spirit and artistic individuality

to form a homogeneous sound of the highest quality. The Singphoniker

have established themselves among the leading specialists for vocal

The Bergen Woodwind Quintet is a well-known

chamber music ensemble based in Bergen,

Norway. For years it has been among the

leading groups in Scandinavia, performing to

great acclaim the world over. The ensemble’s

members are the principal wind musicians of

the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, also known

as Harmonien, which was founded in 1765 and is

one of the world’s oldest orchestral institutions.

The quintet often conducts worldwide tours,

performing for live audiences, conducting radio

broadcasts and holding master classes for

music students.

O Quinteto de Sopros de Bergen é um quinteto de renome

sediado em Bergen, na Noruega. É um dos principais

Yale School of Music, where

he studied with renowned

cellist Aldo Parisot. From then

on, his career has gone from

strength to strength. He has

performed with many of the

world’s leading orchestras,

among them the Philadelphia,

Boston, Detroit, Cleveland and

Chicago Symphonies, the NHK

Symphony, Zürich Tonhalle,

Stockholm Philharmonic, Santa

Jian Wang regressa a Macau para interpretar o Concerto

para Violoncelo de Dvořák, o último concerto para

instrumento solista escrito pelo compositor em 1894-95

em Nova Iorque, durante a sua terceira temporada como

Director do Conservatório Nacional. Nascido e criado na

China, Jian Wang foi descoberto muito jovem por Isaac

Stern, com quem participou no famoso documentário “De

Mao a Mozart: Isaac Stern na China”. O encorajamento

e apoio de Stern acabariam por levá-lo aos EUA e, em

1985, a entrar na Escola de Música de Yale, onde estudou

com o célebre violoncelista Aldo Parisot. Desde então, a

sua carreira desenvolveu-se enormemente. Actuou com

muitas das principais orquestras mundiais, incluindo

as Sinfónicas de Filadélfia, Boston, Detroit, Cleveland e

Chicago; Sinfónica NHK, Zürich Tonhalle, Filarmónica de

Estocolmo, Santa Cecilia, Hallé, Orquestra de Câmara

大西洋樂隊於1992年由葡萄牙殿堂級音樂家佩德羅．卡地

依拉．卡布拉創辦並擔任指揮，樂隊以古樂器奏演中世紀

拉．卡布拉同時是一位出色的作曲家和吉他演奏家，過去

Coordenado pelo autodidacta da guitarra portuguesa,

músico e investigador Pedro Caldeira Cabral, o

Concerto Atlântico, que tem vindo a apresentar-se em

palcos ao nível nacional e internacional, é formado por

especialistas na interpretação de música dos séculos XV

e XVI, utilizando instrumentos históricos com critérios

interpretativos que valorizam aspectos da expressividade

do repertório a que se tem dedicado. O espectáculo “O

Gloriosa Domina” é uma homenagem a Nossa Senhora,

recorrendo a instrumentos históricos e bastante ligados ao

colectivo musical de vários países, incluindo a China.

Directed by musician, researcher and self-taught Portuguese guitarist

Pedro Caldeira Cabral, Concerto Atlântico is an ensemble comprised

of musicians specialising in the interpretation of 15th and 16th-century

repertoire. The group has performed to international acclaim, using

period instruments and authentic practices honouring this ancient

music’s most expressive qualities. In their “O Gloriosa Domina” concert,

dedicated to the Virgin Mary, the ensemble’s historic instruments hail

from the musical cultures of various lands including China.

mais eminente de Londres, a estreia de Dido e Eneias não

ocorreu num grande teatro como o que agora associamos

à ópera. Teve antes lugar no Colégio Interno Josias Priest

em Chelsey, possivelmente em 1680. Esta ópera em

miniatura, repleta de drama intenso e música elegante,

When English composer Henry Purcell wrote Dido and Aeneas,

opera was not yet publicly performed in London. Indeed, although

Purcell was already recognised as one of London’s most distinguished

musicians and composers, the debut performance of Dido and Aeneas

was not in the kind of grand theatre we now associate with opera. It

took place at “Josias Priest’s Boarding School” at Chelsey, possibly

as early as 1680. In time this sparkling miniature opera, filled with

intense drama and elegant song, would dazzle theatre audiences

around the world. Lasting little more than an hour, this brilliant work by

the greatest English composer of his time, encompasses a broad range

of expressive music, from a high-spirited sailor’s dance to one of the

most touching operatic arias, Dido’s lament “When I am laid in Earth”.

膾炙人口的經典唱段，蕩氣迴腸的生死愛戀。古典戲曲瑰

寶《紫釵記》，是中國明代傑出戲曲家湯顯祖的傳世之

作，由唐滌生改編為粵劇版本。故事記敍隴西才子李益與

不幸淪落的貴族女子霍小玉的一段紫釵姻緣，撼人心扉。

香港粵劇名伶蓋鳴輝、吳美英跨海演出，不同凡響的唱

腔，無可挑剔的功架，成就一場傳頌百年的愛情名劇。

A Ópera Cantonense é uma arte performativa única

que combina a extravagância da ópera de Pequim e o

dialecto cantonense para formar um vasto conjunto de

histórias fascinantes. Este ano, o FIMM convida estrelas

de topo do panorama operático de Hong Kong para dar

vida a duas das mais comoventes histórias de amor do

repertório cantonense. O Gancho de Cabelo Púrpura conta

a história clássica de dois jovens amantes, Lei Yik e Fok

Siu Yuk e a sua luta incessante contra as iniquidades da

In 2009, Cantonese (or Yueju) Opera was officially inscribed on the

UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage

of Humanity. This unique and mesmerising Chinese performing art

combines Mandarin operatic extravaganza and Cantonese dialect

to render a rich array of stories that provide a cultural bond among

Cantonese speakers all over the world. This year, the MIMF invites top

stars from the Hong Kong opera scene to bring to life two of the most

moving love stories of the Yueju repertoire.

The Purple Hairpin, originally written by Tang Xianzu (1550-

1616), often praised as the “Shakespeare of the East”, tells the

classic tale of the two young lovers Lei Yik and Fok Siu Yuk and their

unremitting struggle against the iniquities of officialdom, when

Commander Lou sets his mind on separating the couple and making

Lei Yik his son-in-law. In The Moon Pavilion, we are taken back to

the chaotic period of the Mongolian invasions, when love blossoms

between Cheong Sai Long and Wong Soi Lan, the daughter of Minister

Wong Zen, who is intent on hampering the couple’s union but is faced

with the all-conquering power of destiny. Two absolute must-sees!

有“聲樂雕塑家”之譽的著名指揮家婭倫．格日勒，將率

領年均十五歲的內蒙古少年合唱團，以獨具韻味的少年嗓

音唱出純樸壯美的草原之聲，帶來遼闊無邊的民族風情！

《來自草原的稀世之聲》除了將大唱蒙古族傳統民歌、中

國民歌以及外國著名合唱作品外，同場還將獻演兩項難得

一聞的人類非物質文化遺產：“馬頭琴”與“蒙古族長

調”。

馬頭琴是蒙古民族的代表樂器，盛行於成吉思汗時代。

琴首雕有馬頭造型，音色純樸渾厚、蒼涼深邃，大提琴家

馬友友曾稱讚馬頭琴所奏之音是天下最美的樂音。“蒙古

族長調”字少腔長、高亢悠遠，被譽為是離自然最近的音

樂演唱形式。兩項特色表演於上海世博亮相，驚艷國際。

Após o sucesso da actuação do Orfeão Juvenil da

Mongólia Interior no ano passado, esta edição do FIMM

apresenta o Coro Juvenil da Mongólia Interior,

a geração seguinte de virtuosos de canto desta província

do norte da China. Liderados pela conhecida maestrina

Yalun Gerile e seguindo as pegadas dos seus multi-

premiados homólogos adultos, este grupo de 48 jovens

cantores irá incendiar o palco com uma apresentação

apaixonante de canções e danças ao som do morin khuur

(violino cabeça de cavalo), da yatga (cítara) e de outros

instrumentos mongóis característicos. Neste concerto,

um repertório que alterna entre peças do compositor-em-

residência Se Enkhbayar e canções populares mongóis,

melodias tradicionais de outras províncias chinesas e

peças ocidentais, proporcionará certamente um serão

multi-cultural encantador no Centro Cultural de Macau.

After the success of last year’s performance by the Inner Mongolia

Youth Glee Club, this edition of the MIMF presents the Inner

Mongolia Youth Choir, the next generation of vocal virtuosi from this

northern Chinese province. Led by renowned conductor Yalun Gerile

and following in the footsteps of their multi-award-winning adult

counterparts, this group of 48 young singers will set the stage ablaze

with a gripping performance of choral song and dance to the sound

of the morin khuur (horsehead fiddle) the yatga (zither) and other

distinctive Mongolian instruments. Hailing from the rural grasslands

of Inner Mongolia, these boys and girls share a nomadic, pastoral

background with their composer-in-residence, Se Enkhbayar, whose

love of nature and respect for indigenous traditions converge into a

remarkable musical style. In this concert, a repertoire ranging from

Enkhbayar’s compositions to Mongolian folk songs, traditional tunes

from other Chinese provinces and Western pieces will no doubt make

for a charming multi-cultural evening at the Macao Cultural Centre.

This year marks the 15th anniversary of the death of Teresa Teng, the

most popular and influential diva in modern Chinese music. In the

1980s, Taiwan-born Teresa Teng rose to superstardom, and the appeal

of her folk songs and romantic ballads has endured undiminished

to this day. Her sweet voice and charisma captured the hearts of

music lovers in all Chinese-speaking regions, leading her on to an

extraordinary career full of achievements, among them her numerous

multi-platinum records and blockbuster movies. Hailed as the “healer

of all broken hearts”, this record-breaking artist will be revived through

the charming voice of China’s current rising star, Lily Chen, who joins

the Macao Chinese Orchestra on stage to recall such perennial hits as

“Your Sweet Smiles” or “Wishing We Last Forever”. This is a concert

bound to touch the souls of all in attendance!

diva mais famosa e influente da música chinesa moderna.

Esta cantora de Taiwan alcançou o estatuto de super-estrela

na década de 80, permanecendo o fascínio das suas canções

populares e baladas românticas inabalável até aos dias de

hoje. A sua voz doce e o seu carisma cativaram os corações

de todos os chineses amantes da música, dando origem a

uma carreira extraordinária, em que se contaram numerosos

discos de multi-platina, bem como filmes de êxito. Aclamada

como aquela que “cura todos os corações despedaçados”,

esta artista detentora de vários recordes irá renascer

através da melodiosa voz da nova estrela em ascensão na

China, Lily Chen, a qual, na companhia da Orquestra

Chinesa de Macau, relembrará temas inesquecíveis como

“Tradition” and “Innovation” – two bywords that in the

international music scene have found expression in the Münchener

Kammerorchester (Munich Chamber Orchestra). This orchestra,

under the artistic leadership of Alexander Liebreich since 2006,

has made wilful programming its trademark and has received

international recognition for it. With its regular compositional

premieres and presentation of contemporary music, brought

into a conceptual balance with classical works, it has achieved a

“successful balance between the cultivation of the traditional and

the advocacy of contemporary music” that “sets new standards.”

The MKO has as a result received many awards, among them the

renowned “Musikpreis” from the City of Munich, the European

Culture Award, the Award of the German Music Publishers and the

Cannes International Classical Award (January 2002).

O Quarteto Ying ocupa uma posição de proeminência

The Ying Quartet occupies a position of unique prominence in

in today’s world. Now in its second decade, the Ying Quartet has

in its tours across the United States and abroad. At the same time,

the Quartet’s belief that concert music can also be a meaningful part

Eckart Runge e Jacques Ammon constituem o duo “cello

Cello project notabiliza-se pelos seus programas

interessantes e inconvencionais. A sua distinta e elegante

execução é dirigida para os classicistas, assim como para

os recém-chegados que desejam “provar” o que o seu

trabalho tem para oferecer.

Eckart Runge and Jacques Ammon are “cello project”. Since 1998,

their performances have elated international audiences with their high

level of creativity, evident in both their original arrangements and their

repertoire, which ranges from Tango and Jazz to the film music of Rota,

Chaplin and Shostakovich.

Cello project is noted for its interesting, yet unconventional

programming. Their distinct and elegant delivery is directed towards

the classicists and to newcomers who want to get a taste of what their

The Slovak National Theatre, one of the most important cultural

institutions in Slovakia, was established in 1920. Today it is home to

opera, drama and ballet, as well as an independent professional choir

which from the very beginning has proved indispensable for the

theatre’s artistic productions. Under the baton of multi-award-

winning choirmaster Pavol Procházka, the Slovak National Theatre

Chorus is now a key representative of Bratislava’s high quality music

O Teatro Nacional da Eslováquia, uma das instituições

culturais mais importantes da Eslováquia, foi fundado em

1920. Actualmente compreende companhias de ópera, teatro

e ballet, assim como um coro profissional independente que

及改編的經典名曲，富於現代爵士樂意韻，為當今樂界交

口讚譽。

Fundada em 1996, a antiga New Concert Big Band

rapidamente se notabilizou, na sequência de um acordo

com o prestigiado Concertgebouw de Amsterdão,

tornando-se a Orquestra de Jazz do Concertgebouw

(OJC) em 1999. O segredo do sucesso desta versátil

big band está nos seus 18 membros, actualmente os

mais talentosos músicos de jazz da Holanda, e no seu

fundador e líder, Henk Meutgeert, que compôs e arranjou

inúmeras obras para o agrupamento. Nos seus catorze

anos de existência, a OJC atraiu a atenção e actuou com

numerosos solistas, entre os quais se contam Lee Konitz,

Chick Corea, Branford Marsalis e Dee Dee Bridgewater

que, sem dúvida, contribuíram ainda mais para a crescente

fama da Orquestra.

Founded in 1996, the former New Concert Big Band swiftly moved to

centre stage, under an arrangement with Amsterdam’s prestigious

Concertgebouw, to become the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw

in 1999. The secret behind this versatile big band’s success lies in

its 18 members, currently the most talented jazz musicians in the

Netherlands, and in its founder and leader, Henk Meutgeert, who has

written and arranged countless compositions for this ensemble. In its

fourteen years of existence, the JOC has attracted the attention of

and performed with a wide variety of guest soloists, among them Lee

Konitz, Chick Corea, Branford Marsalis and Dee Dee Bridgewater,

who have no doubt contributed even further to the rising fame of the

Orchestra.
