Like most offices, my office is a place where I can concentrate on my work and feel

A- Mona is a new student. Her older sister Huda is giving her a tour of their school. There is a

laboratory on the second floor where they have their science lessons. The library is next to

classroom three. The music room is at the end of the corridor. It is on the first floor.

B-Cairo is the capital of Egypt. It has many interesting places you can visit. The citadel which was

built to protect Cairo. The Cairo Museum which has a lot of ancient monuments. The Cairo Tower

which is the tallest narrow building in Egypt.

C- Hany lives in Cairo. At the next weekend, He is going to stay with his grandparents on their

farm. I think he will enjoy seeing animals and fine weather. He will take some photos with his

relatives there. It is the first time to go on a long journey to the countryside.


A-I'm a student at a language school. You must be good at English to go to this school. Today, I've

got five lessons. After break, we can go downstairs to the changing room to get ready for PE. We

practise sports in the playground. The bus stops outside the school gates.

B-The lighthouse of Alexandria was built to help boats at night. Many earthquakes damaged it.

When the famous traveller Ibn Battuta visited Alexandria, he couldn't enter the lighthouse. It was

dangerous. The Sultan of Egypt built a fort where the lighthouse once stood.

It was late at night and Susan was asleep in bed. Suddenly, she heard a loud noise coming

A- Today, most people put their money into a bank account. Thousands of years ago, people

C-Everyone enjoys one sport or another. Some people like to practise sports while others

prefer just to watch. Many sports need training. Training is often long and difficult. If you want to

be a professional player, you need much time and energy.


A-Rania Elwani is one of the world's fastest swimmers. She started swimming when she

was 13 and won 77 medals in swimming competitions. She has stopped swimming and has

become a doctor. In 2005, she opened a swimming school for young swimmers.

B- Rain forests are tropical trees with high rainfall. There are many kinds of plants and

animals in them. Man has started cutting down the trees in these forests to make money from their

wood. They also get more space for cattle, more land for buildings and roads. Governments plan to

protect rain forests

C-Egypt has some very interesting museums. The Cairo museum is the famous one in

Egypt. Many people have visited it. It's Egypt's biggest museum and it contains some very famous

historical objects. It is in the middle of Cairo. Many tourists come to visit this museum.

Rome is a city with an interesting history. It was the capital of the Roman Empire. It has

many palaces and monuments so many people travel to Rome every year. A trip to Rome is

expensive but you enjoy visiting it.


In January 2007, an Egyptian international famous squash player, Ramy ashour won an

important championship in Canada. Ashour was born in Cairo in 1987. Squash is the sport which

he loves, so he is sorry that it is not an Olympic sport. He is working hard to change this.

In the past, people sent letters by pigeons. Messengers also carried letters on foot or on

horses. In 1850 people used the first kind of electronic letter. It was called a telegram. The e-mail

invented in 1972. Anyone with a computer and the internet could send and get messages quickly.
