Project Title: Implementation of high speed data transfer on fiber optic interface using FPGA

Description: The main objective is to design and implementation of high speed data transmission of 128 bit data serially at the rate of 3.125Gbps using architectural features of Virtex-5 FPGA. The data transmission and reception is carried out using Aurora protocol on Multi-Gigabit Transceivers (MGT’s). The 128 bit parallel data which is generated by using a counter is transmitted through asynchronous first-in first-out (AFIFO) to Aurora module.

Platform/Tools: Xilinx 12.4, AURORA Protocol, Virtex-5 FPGA board, Homodyne receiver, JTAG.

Project Title: Voice/D.T.M.F activated multi-purpose robot (Team size = 5)

Description: This robot receiving a set of command instructions in the form of DTMF tones or voice commands and with additional features like gas, smoke, alcohol, sound, metal detection and also obstacle sensor to detect the obstacles.

Platform/Tools: ARM 7 Microcontrollers (LPC-2148), HM2007, Proteus, Multisim and KeilUvision.

Project Title: Remote controlled metal detecting robot (Team size = 5)

Description: This robot is controlled by a RF remote. This can be moved forward and reverse direction. When the robot is moving on a surface, it stops when a metal is detected.

Platform/Tools: 8051, Proteus, Multisim, KeilUvision and 433 MHz RF transceiver.

Project Title: Shadow alarm (Team size =6)

Description: This circuit sounds an alarm whenever a shadow falls on it. A dim lighting in the room is necessary to detect the moving shadow.

Project Title: Automatic street light control system Description: This circuit uses transistor as a switch to ON and OFF the street light automatically. This is done by a sensor called Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) which senses the light actually like our eyes.

Project Title: Clap switch Description: This circuit turns on/off any appliance; you just have to clap twice. The circuit changes its output state only when you clap twice within the set time period. Here, you’ve to clap within 3 seconds.
