YSGOL y Preseli were hon-oured recently with a visitfrom Maki Saji, a 24 yr oldJapaneseBuddhistnun fromthe MyozojiBuddhist templeat Izu Pensinsula in Japan.Maki travels the world withher message of peace, high-lightingthe misery andfutil-ityof warthroughan ancienttradition of storytellingcalled kamishibai.
Her storytelling hasbecome a symbol of worldpeace through the story ofSadako Sasaki, a 12 year oldgirl who tried to stave off herdeath from leukemia as aresult of radiation from theatomic bombing of Hiroshima in 1945, by mak-ing 1,000origamicranes.
