Our battle is not against human forces but against the principalities and powers, the rulers of this world of darkness, the evil spirits in regions above. You must put on the armor of God if you are to resist on the evil day; do all that your duty requires, and hold your ground. Stand fast, with the truth as the belt around your waist, justice as your breast-plate, and zeal to propagate the gospel of peace as your footgear. In all circumstances hold faith up before you as your shield, it will help you extinguish the fiery darts of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit, the word of God. Alleluia Verse: The Lord will hear you in the day of tribulation; the name of the God of Ja-cob will shield you.

A THANKSGIVING DAY PRAYER

God of all blessings, source of all life, giver of all grace: We thank you for the gift of life: for the breath that sustains life, for the food of this earth that nurtures life, for the love of family and friends without which there would be no life. We thank you for the mystery of creation: for the beauty that the eye can see, for the joy that the ear may hear, for the unknown that we cannot behold filling the uni-verse with wonder, for the expanse of space that draws us beyond the definitions of our selves. We thank you for setting us in commu-nities: for families who nurture our becoming, for friends who love us by choice, for compan-ions at work, who share our burdens and daily tasks, for strangers who welcome us into their midst, for people from other lands who call us to grow in understanding, for children who lighten our moments with delight, for the un-born, who offer us hope for the future. We thank you for this day: for life and one more day to love, for opportunity and one more day to work for justice and peace. We thank you for Your promise: to be with us, to be our God, and to give us salvation. Amen.

Ми дякуємо Тобі за таємницю творіння: за красу, якої око не бачить, за радість, якої вухо не чує, за невідоме, яке ми не бачимо але яке наповняє всесвіт по-дивом, за простори, які приваблюють нас поза рамки визначень нас самих. Ми дяку-ємо Тобі, що встановив нас у спільнотах: за родини, які плекають наш розвиток, за друзів, яких ми власним вибором любимо, за співробітників, які допомагають нам не-сти буденні тягарі та обов’язки, за незна-йомих людей, які вітають нас в своєму се-редовищі, за людей з інших народів, які закликають нас рости в розумінні, за дітей, які втішають нас розрадою, за ненародже-них які дають нам надію на майбутнє. Кілька слів про нашу Благодійну Акцію…

Цього тижня ми дістали ці-кавого листа від Владики Богдана Дзюраха з Києва. Владиці Богда-нові дуже подобалася наша Акції 2016 і він звернувся до нас з про-ханням, чи він би міг до нашої акції прилєднати мирян своєї єпа-рхії. Владика вже не раз переда-вав «наші» подарунки потребую-чим людям але з цим проектом

хотів би навчити своїх людей в Україні, що це не лиш люди з Америки мають дбати про потребуючих в Україні але і вони ма-ють обов’язок допомагати власному ближ-ньому. Ми радо прийняли цю думку і ми

спільним заходом на свято святого Миколая зробимо подарунок багатьом бідним людям, які дістануть не лиш наших $10 але також гроші, які вони назбирають в Україні. Як і до тепер, декотрі отримають гроші, інші діста-нуть продукти, чи ліки. Кожний по своїй потребі. Із щедрою підтримкою багатьох парафіян на даний час ми заповнили термометр, який показує, що ми дійш-ли до своєї мети і допомогли 2016-ом особам а тепер стримимо до другої мети - допомогти і ще 2016-ом особам підтримкою та теплом. На даний час

можемо допомогти ще 910-тьом потребу-ючим особам! Дякуємо вам за ваше спів-чуття та за вашу щедрість. Нехай Вас Гос-подь Бог благословить.

A few words from our charitable program…

This week we received an interesting letter from Bishop Bohdan Dzyurakh from Kyiv. Bishop Bohdan admires our 2016 project and has asked if we would be willing to have the people in his eparchy join with us in reach-ing the poor. Bishop Bohdan has worked with us before but this time would like to teach his peo-ple in Ukraine that it is not only people in America who are to care for the needy in Ukraine but that they, too, have an obliga-tion to care for their poor. We gladly ac-cepted this suggestion and are now planning that on the feast of St. Nicho-las we will be giving many needy peo-ple a gift of $10 plus the money that they will have collected. As before, we will be giving people, money, food products or medication, depending on individual needs.

With the most generous support of many people in our parish to date we have filled a thermometer, which shows that we have reached our goal of help-ing 2,016 needy people and now we have set another goal of reaching yet another 2,016 needy people with warmth and support. Presently we can help 910 more people! Thank you for your under-standing and for your generosity. May God bless you!

Juliana Andrea Olesnycky was baptized in our church. We pray to our Almighty Fa-ther and ask that He keep little Juliana un-der His special care so that she grow to be of pride and joy to her parents and to her community.

possessed by a spirit which drained her strength. She was badly stooped, quite inca-pable of standing erect. Which one of you does not let his ox or ass out of the stall on the sabbath to water it?” Should not this daughter of Abraham here who has been in the bondage of Satan for eighteen years have been released from her shackles on the sabbath?” At these words, his opponents were covered with confusion; meanwhile, everyone else rejoiced at the mar-vels Jesus was accomplishing.
