Every year, for the past 10 years, around Gudi Padwa, out of sheer practice, we unknowingly buy a ticket for the awaited Bloomington-Normal Marathi Mandal Natak. It is like a routine that we do, but it is actually a privilege we have.

I know a couple friends who are in cities bigger than Bloomington, but have not seen a Live & Quality Marathi Drama since they have left the Indian soil. Look for yourself - Peoria, Indianapolis, cannot make it happen. And they boast and have a bigger Resident Indian population. Bringing an outside drama is one thing, but creating it out of Bloomington's soil is another thing !

Simply speaking, what they do not have is GAUTAM KARANDIKAR.

I have visited Milwaukee, Indianapolis and St.Louis with our Drama Troupe. After shows at these places, after the applauding and praises, they have asked one question that has remained unanswered "How do you get such talented people every year" ?

It is simply a matter of excellence that Gautam can consistently, select the right roles, characters and mould them such that the audience is ready to bet that this troupe is a seasoned one and not amateurs acting for the first time. That statement speaks for itself.

Congratulations Gautam on this 10th anniversary!
