The philology theory of Guei-Fu verification on the basis of Sui

Wen Jie Zi Yi Zheng

This research is going to pursue a all-perspective picture of

philologist Guei-Fuwho was one of four famous literature philologists

during Qing Dynasty.Guei-Fuwas as famous as Duan Yu Cai when they both were

always named along with each other by the term of Nan Duan Bei Guei.Howeverthere have been few works done on researching Guei-Fu and his

publications in the history of philology as well as literature criticism up to now.Some of them were even distorted and partially discussed by critics. It is importantto re-investigate his works in order to give him a proper evaluation as a whole

especially from the perspective of philology. I intend to clarify those blurredinformation about his works and distorted explication by latter scholars.

This research is basically framed by explication of the bookSui WenJie Zi Yi Zhengand complimented by other works written at

that timesuch asSui Wen Tung Ci TuMiu Zhuan Fen YunMiu Zhuan Fen Yun BuXu 35 JuZa PuWan Xue GiGuei Wei Gu Shi Giand so on. To make a complete chronology of Guei-Fu as index in

the end of this study is also helpful for coming researchers to follow up.It would be a significant contribution in this academic field on

Guei-Fus philology after this research accomplished by showing acomplete picture of his fabulous works as well as a fair evaluation by

contemporary scholars in this century.
