MISSION ONE Reaching others for Jesus ChristDick & Char Gri thsMission Board: TEAMLocation:

Wisconsin/Papua, IndonesiaWhat do they do? After leaving for

Dutch New Guinea in 1956, theyopened the Hatam tribal ministryinterior by building an airstrip atMinyambou, reducing the lan-guage to writing, and teachingsimple Bible stories to primitivepeople bound in superstition. Gods Spirit moved in Decem-ber 1962 in what is called a fetish movement. The joy of theGospel spread along family lines and whole villages trustedChrist, with great desire to learn Gods Word and to be ableto read it themselves. Dicks main work has been translation, while Chars has been Hatam literacywriting books, train-ing teachers, providing Bible training for women.

Praises: 15,000 Hatam Bibles arrived two months ago in Minyambou.

Prayer Requests: The Bibles are not yet distributed-- a leading government of-

cial stated that the government would pay for them. (Seemsto be a political move to gain votes for next years election.)

Ask that church leaders move forward independently of political promises.

Ask that church leaders and congregations would pay thesubsidy price and distribute the Bibles.

Mike & Sue, One SonLocation: Closed CountryWhat do they do? Mike and Sue have been church planters, pri-

marily among business people in Cote dIvoire, West Africa, since 1990. Selling everything they owned, they said good

-bye to friends and moved in June 2009 to a creative accesscountry. Mike now pastors the only international church ina city of 220,000 people. Sue leads a French Bible study.Instead of cars, they have tennis shoes, bikes and a scooterfor transportation. Sue is the sister of John Porter.

Praises: They are getting settled in their homehalf of their win-

    dows are now screened.

Prayer Requests: For help in remembering all the spoken Arabic they learned

last year; for uency and courage to speak the language. For protection in trafc during the dangerous summer

months as reckless young tourists come there for vacation. For good friends; open hearts to the Gospel. For teaching His Word with clarity. Tranquility and peace during change.

Je & MelissaLocation: Closed CountryWhat do they do? Jeff and Melissa serve in a restricted access

nation. Both are English teachers at their host universitywhere they focus on the 30,000 students in their town. Theirvision is to see a group of national teachers and studentsmeeting together regularly for worship and reaching out toothers in ministry. They seek to identify students with spiri-tual interest and go through a series of Bible studies withthose who want to learn more about Jeff and Melissas faith.

Praises: Harry initiated a conversation about spiritual issues. For Ezra, one of the leaders of the student fellowship.

Prayer Requests: For Harry to grow in condence in his faith and that God

would give him opportunities to share his faith with class-mates and friends.

For God to provide an alternative research topic for Ezra al-lowing him to continue to live and serve on their campus.

For God to show Cyrus and ZG that He is near to them andactively involved in their lives.

Emotional healing for QJ who struggles with self-esteem andother family issues.

mission trips serving this summeraround the world, and they all needYOUR prayers for safety, health andopportunities to minister where Godhas led them:Flagsta Mission to the Navajos cancelled, possibly rescheduled inAugustDan Ritter and his sister Kelly working with Steiger Ministries in SaoPaulo, Brazil, July 11-23Elyse & Cariann Claiborne in Garden City, SC, involved in beachevangelism and discipleshipAbbey Longstreet in Dominican Republic, working at an orphanageDonna Stanger to Russia working with an English camp and with Dr.Bill Becknell, July 14August 3

KZ ChurchThis is the sixth week of our incredibly

buggy summer and we still LOVE our bugs! These friendly bugs are helping our kidsunderstand how God can change us into Hisbeautiful creations, just as the caterpillargoes through a transformation to becomea buttery. If youre a kid (or just want to see what our kids arelearning), come check out MetamorphosisA God-directed,Life Change Production in our new KZ Church room.

This week we learned how God wants to transform the waywe work. He wants to transform laziness into diligence. Thatmeans taking your work seriously and doing your best at what-ever you do, even if youre a child. The Bible tells us in Proverbs13:4, Lazy people want much but get little, but those who work hard will prosper and be satised.
