The Searcy Regional Chamber of Commerce is pleased to pro-vide you with information on Searcy and White County. Wehope that you will find that Searcy is a natural fit for you, yourfamily or your business. Searcy is the largest city in WhiteCounty and is the county seat. According to the 2010 Censusthe population of Searcy is 22,858.

We have a vibrant downtown area that is steeped in history, with a quaint mix of offices, restaurants and retail shops toenjoy. The imposing White County Courthouse is a downtownlandmark. It is the oldest functioning courthouse in the stateand is listed on the National Register.

State- of-the-art health care facilities have allowed our area tobecome a major referral center for the north central part of thestate. Our community has been fortunate to recently welcomea new Veteran’s Clinic and the Cancer Center of Excellence. The health services in our area continue to grow and offer serv-ices in nearly every specialty, which allows our citizens to seekcare at home.

Searcy takes great pride in our award winning public and pri-vate educational institutions. Our well regarded public schooldistrict offers students a strong academic base and a variety ofextracurricular activities. Harding University is a private, high-er-academic, christian university affiliated with the Churches ofChrist and the state's largest private university. Searcy is alsohome to Arkansas State University- Searcy, a technical campusof nearby Arkansas State University Beebe which offers severaltwo and four year programs.

Manufacturing and distribution employs about 10% ofour workforce. Several major employers contribute toSearcy’s diverse industrial and commercial sector. Wal-Mart operates two distribution centers in Searcy and isthe second largest employer in our area. In addition, ourarea has been blessed with a gas exploration boom thatbegan in 2006. It has sheltered our area from many ofthe economic woes that other communities have faced.

Located in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains, Searcyis surrounded by rivers, lakes, mountains and forests, which allows for a host of recreational and outdooractivities for the whole family. Searcy’s gently rollingterrain supports a humid, sub-tropical climate duringmost of the year with relatively short, mild winters andlong, warm summers.

Avg Summer Temps: 94 F - 70 F Avg Winter Temps: 49 F - 30 FAnnual Rain - total 50 in. Annual snow total - less than 4 in.

We are less than a one hour drive north of the LittleRock National Airport, Little Rock River Port and theintersection of Interstates 30 and 40. Our proximityallows easy access to a larger metropolitan area viaHWY 67/167 and provides enough space that Searcy retains all its small town charm and southern hospitality.

From our headquarters in Searcy, we’ve provided

better banking to our home state since 1932.

And nowhere else. That’s not only a statement

about our geographical footprint; it’s a testimony

to who we are – past, present and future.

We may have grown to 69 locations with an

unmatched array of products and services

to answer any financial need, but one thing

remains the same: our undivided loyalty to

Arkansas. It’s just one of the many reasons

why banking with us is better.
