Team Eta is a 4 year old student run project affiliated with K. J. Somaiya College of Engineering, Mumbai

Proud makers of the Jugaad’13, J-14 and Arya our Super-mileage prototype vehicles which participated in Shell Eco Marathon Asia 2013 , 2014 and 2015.

Positive step towards a cleaner and greener environment.

Team Eta @ Wave Exhibition, Mumbai

Shell Eco-marathon (SEM) is a unique competition that challenges students to design, build and drive the most energy-efficient car. At three events around the world hundreds of team compete to travel

the furthest on the least amount of energy. Some achieve distances equivalent to driving from Paris to Moscow

(that's 2,485 km or 1,544 miles) on a single liter of fuel.

Future Vision

The Competition

Design and

fabricate a super

efficient vehicle

that is roadworthy

and follows Eco-

Marathon Rules.

Our Approach

Design and fabricate a

vehicle that is more

than capable of

meeting Eco-marathon

rules, which is

comfortable to drive

and aesthetic in looks.

Our Vehicle

An efficient and

lightweight vehicle

that reduced losses

in as many ways as

possible while still

maintaining the

practicality of a car.

12

Future Vision

The car is expected to weigh 35kg (77 lbs), around 33 times lighter than an average family car in India.

The body of the car will be a carbon fiber monocoque structure.

The car is powered by a 35 c.c. engine with an air box for better efficiency.

Belt transmission coupled with a planetary gearbox with fuel efficient bearings .

The shape would resemble that of a drop of water. The nose area is 0.2 m2 (2.2 feet2) for better aerodynamics. A fireproof bulkhead keeps the driver safe in the event of a

fire. A safety harness holds in the driver in place in case of a

collision.
